  1. I see that the Wallace boys (sons of Jim and Mary) from the Wairarapa own a piece of ‘In the Congo’ Nice shopping I would say!
  2. And Joan Baez, the best of all and still is.
  3. At the moment I am listening to music from Woodstock. At the very least it keeps me sane. Anything to do with the leadership of racing [which I love] certainly does't.
  4. Me and the 2nd one tomorrow, but I am old as you can see!
  5. This is Know-all here ...LOL My guess is that the SI will go to Level 2 at 11.59 pm on Sunday night. The NI [except Auckland or wherever the boundary is] will go to level 3 at 11.59 pm om Sunday night. Auckland though will stay in Level 4 until at least Sunday 19 September at 11.59 pm. [How couldn't they given the severity of the outbreak up here/there?]
  6. After the Warriors he is finished in my opinion. Don’t forget between some of his earlier jobs in this country he returned to a Stipe job in Harness Racing Victoria, before some idiot(s) brought him back here. Why do we get a continuous stream of Australian has-beens?
  7. I am a member of the Wellington Racing Club. They along with the Rangitiki, Marton, Feilding and Manawatu Clubs make up RACE. If there has been a change, the Members certainly have not been advised. Having said that, the previous CEO left under very strange or unsavoury circumstances. Since then very little have been forthcoming from RACE while they have sourced a new CEO. I guess we now wait on what he (the new CEO) has to say once he has his feet under the desk. However, should RACE have fallen to bits, and Wellington have the ability to do it’s own thing, nothing would please me more, so long as they were fairly compensated (or get back the money) for all the land that has been sold at Trentham over the last 5 years, and which has gone into RACE’S coffers. DB
  8. Greymouth, almost in the centre of town. It may have been called Victoria Park. If my memory serves me correct it was on Maori leasehold land as is the centre of Greymouth, the shops etc.
  9. From Bernard down it’s a lost cause in my opinion. Wherever I look it’s been a disaster. Being based in the CD I absolutely despair. Take for example the clown who was in charge of RACE including Trentham, which he all but destroyed before he disappeared under very unusual circumstances! I suppose that all the millions gained from selling off every bit of land (possible) at Trentham , has gone into clearing RACE’s debt and the portion left went to pay for the AWT on the swamp, not paid for by the Provincial Fund. God help us all. Amen
  10. It’s beyond my comprehension too.
  11. Well the first positive thing that they could do is hold no meetings at Trentham between 1 April and 15 October but no the dates committee think otherwise! Trentham when it’s dry is the best surface in the country but a disaster when wet through the late autumn, winter and early spring.
  12. I hope that you are right but I doubt it.
  13. They’ve looked outside before.....many many times (don’t you remember) and have come up with shit, time after time. Give me Dean McKenzie any day for the time being.
  14. Sadly Freda I have to disagree as without their financial returns to our industry we are completely gone. If they can even slightly increase the return that they give us, their is a small chance, even if it's the opportunity to race my horse and prove it, before I take it to race in Australia or sadly sell it to HK.
  15. He is and because of that, I wont be getting you to pick out my next year's yearlings for me!
  16. I couldn’t agree more. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. It’s unbelievable. Personally I quite like Bernard and was prepared to give him a chance even though I had seen very little evidence of anything positive, but this bullshit confirms that him and his board are no better than John Allen and TAB Board (or whatever they were called at the time) It’s simply PR spin, pie in sky crap, wishful thinking or bullshit. There’s not a single line telling us how they are going to do anything. 😢
  17. 6: Wagering and content Goal: "Data and vision are more effectively monetised, enabling NZTR to provide greater returns to industry participants." Can someone please explain to me what this means? I am serious as I have no idea. Dark Beau
  18. Whilst I agree about the current management, it's not actually the Clubs decision regarding dates.
  19. Nomates, so have I. Yes I was there on Saturday and because it was bloody cold everyone was inside so it was hard to tell how many were there. The previous week [because it was sunny] there appeared to be many there, but did they bet? Take into account the population of Auckland verses Wellington and the turnout by the Wellingtonians blows the Auckland turnout on their respective Cup Days out of the water and so does Riccarton on their Cup day.
  20. Nomates, see me my next posting for the answer, and I am not trying to be a smart arse.
  21. The game is now controlled by Auckland and that's the end of the matter. Say what you like, the rest of the country has been shafted except HB and that's only because the Auckland weather wouldn't allow a spring carnival to take place on their quagmire at that time of the year. Sadly at every opportunity they are also trying to take the 1000gns and 2000gns north, but over my dead body!
  22. Agree, but I will let you work out why that happens!
  23. Bullshit about the Wellington populous not supporting it.
  24. And that won’t include much from me as the majority of mine even though I am on-course, goes through my phone! 📱
  25. Last week (when I wasn’t there) there appeared to be a big crowd from what I could see on TV, yet I bet today’s on-course turnover would have been more than double last weeks.
