  1. Are you for fucking real? Whilst things are a little slow in turning around the Titanic, it was 9 years of a National Government that couldn’t have given a monkey’s about racing that’s created the problem(s). Having said that, they (the Nats) did have a major with the Christchurch earthquakes and JK’s attempts to cuddle up Obama, amazing as that may seem. Maybe it was simply golf and a condo in Hawaii that was the catalyst for his lack of focus on the real issues.
  2. Dean McKenzie! Why not?
  3. I think that the owner is pulling the strings. The young Mr McKay obviously didn’t agree with the direction the owner wanted, so off to the Rogerson setup she went. After today’s result who looks the silliest now? Such a shame for a filly that had huge potential, which sadly I don’t think we will ever see now.
  4. It’s the most stupid decision that I have seen in racing in a long time. If I end up with egg all over my face so be it. ?
  5. Pray tell me. in today’s environment what would they have done in Mr Brown’s case? Based on what has been put forward here, fine someone I guess, just who I don’t know!
  6. The NZ unemployment level at 3.9% is the lowest since Labour was last in Government. Donkey spread the BS along with his mates like Ohoka, Kopia and Shortstuff but facts don’t lie. If only the people in charge of the Racing Board could achieve what the current government and Winston has. ?
  7. No, but they did stump up half a million.
  8. Is this Chris Rutten? If not, I think his stats would be even better. How many horses made up the 43 starters?
  9. I don’t agree with you. McKenzie is from the Provence’s even though he’s operated in the big Cities, Wellington and Christchurch. Riverton will be his test that’s for sure. They have a million in the bank through farming and prudent management yet Saundry and his team think that they should sell up and relocate to Ascot Park, probably so that NZTR can then get their hands on the money. I don’t think it will happen! Beau P.S. The results from his time at Trentham don’t say that he’s a superstar, so let’s see what unfolds. I actually think that he’s on a hiding to nothing, although probably well paid.
  10. I agree with you 100%. On Saturday my only bet was on Skarloey (at HB) which won, so obviously I was pleased watching in win, BUT in reality I wasn’t as I watched Jonathan Parkes thrash him all the way down the straight. Something has got to change an quickly before more damage is do to the industry I love.
  11. Tell us more....
  12. Well they need to, at least that’s what David is saying.
  13. Every track surface in the north’s shit except Ellerslie (now that the drainage is done) and the Avondale surface. Ruakaka - a sand pit Counties - more problems than Molloy. Te Rapa - another sandpit. Tauranga - spit on it and it flies to bits. Matamata - passable but too tight for group racing. Rotorua - most days you need to be against the outside fence to win. Most can’t handle it, if it’s not wet. Te Aroha - the bend into the straight has a negative camber. Te Awamutu - say no more Taupo - great for a county track Te Teko - trials only, is its go Who have I left out? Paeroa and Thames are gone. Who else? ☹️
  14. I was a outstanding listen. The lad is obviously talented and educated. No wonder he’s one of our better trainers. Sadly he hinted that if things don’t improve and quickly then Australia in two years is certainly on the cards. However he has got faith in what’s currently happening regarding Winston and his team.
  15. What the he’ll has happened to the Race Cafe forums? Anyone know?
  16. Yeah right..?https://buff.ly/2HXV1x6
  17. Unless you are a Cantabrian.
  18. Update I have just learned that the mating (Saddlers Wells line stallion over a Stravinsky mare) is A+. Of the 160 foals bred this way, 10% of all runners become SW. Even better still, 16% of the race winners bred that way become SW. The filly broke in beautifully and has now gone down to Matthew Eales, who absolutely loves her. If anyone is interested in being involved racing her, and would like to talk to the breaker or Matthew, private message me for further information, costs, contact details etc.
  19. Gee whiz, you are 100% correct. The idiots in charge have me in such a tiz that I am losing it, obviously.
  20. Well between them all, they proved hopefully deficient in the common sense department.
  21. I have! The majority of the people who have given a 1 star review (in the last week), all appear to be connected. The majority of them are first time reviewers and even I can see that it’s a combined effort to do as much damage as possible by the group. My guess is TripAdvisor will delete them all, once someone points out to them the damage being attempted. Just saying and certainly not sticking up for HQ.
  22. You are joking, surely.
  23. I am definitely into two sites (under different non de plumes) also the third, but it’s a waste of time... sorry guys over there The industry needs one really good site, two if everyone can’t be happy, but not three, that’s currently being proven. I suggest that everyone supports everyone for a while and let the BEST SITE WIN.
  24. Curious, thanks for posting the International GST ramifications (which I certainly was not aware of) and all your other detail analysis.
  25. Who is the 15% PoC tax in the form of GST paid to now? Are you saying that every overseas betting agency pays the NZ Government 15% GST?
