Sorry that should read HBJC!
-
Let's talk about this, I heard them say on Trackside the other day [And I live in Brisbane!] that JBJC were going to offer limited gate sales for today as they were nearing a sell out.....did you hear me laugh from here?......why when the industry is in such malaise do that? why not open the infield [Look at Port Macquarie Cup day here, temp stand built near winning Post, thousand people at least in and around] and put up Marquees, pop up restaurants and cafe's, throw it open for free, promote, market the best racing day out.......Christ almighty, they were going to put up the house full sign........you bunch of losers......you deserve to go tits up you wankers......save our industry, not send it packing.....take it to the Hoi poloi.....not make it elitist.....Jesus I sound like Tommo....but you get the drift?

Two Words....''You're Fired''!

Awatene came from last, so the answers a pineapple.

Surely someone should be gone by midnight tonight?........have the board/s been dismissed yet?.....any news? FFS!!!!
-
Roll the sole for sure, never cut!
-
The first bloody rule of horticulture .....never ever cut grass the day before an event......especially horse racing......
-
They forgot or just didn't pick up the grass clippings...that's what is being reported here in Oz, so what happens to the owners that have flown down from far away parts? will they be reimbursed by CJC? let's not hang our hats on that eh?

Great to see Steven Marsh win two races at Gosford today, thank God he left Danielle behind in NZ.......tricky track Gosford, no place for Rolla derby stuff, ....... -
And the bike. pump.

I seriously doubt if any of them have ridden one, bent down and picked up dung, or held one for a vet/farrier, without doubt the worst enforcement agency I've ever witnessed, Keystone Cops......that's too kind. -

Have a look at one of her rides a few weeks ago at Matamata, she was advised to take more care, she carried the horses inside of her across toward the fence once turning for home, a warning, if she had of bought horses down it would have been a vastly different outcome. Never forget, one famous jockey of the past, Malcolm Johnstone was the most suspended jockey in Oz racing history, he caused a horrific fall one day and was subsequently sued by the jockey that was badly injured, Malcolm lost, and it cost him plenty, plenty.....it finished Mal, so, of course in NZ suing for damages is forbidden ground, FFS.......if you, like any other developed country, had a legal system to litigate through the civil courts for injury through incompetence or malpractice then jockey's would think twice if they knew it [dangerous/reckless riding] could cost them their homes, or more. IMO. -
I am so happy that Daylight Saving is about to start

If there's lightning in the 'Valley' guess who will be struck next?

God bless you Kopia, we are so damn upset by this email, you have no idea.
-
I think you lot are being very polite, I for one am deeply offended by this email, not to mention disgusted. To think they could send this to us? after overseeing the demise of a once proud industry. Do they think we are stupid? of course they do, they must to send this. Asking us to support them? What is it they don't understand? We don't trust you!!!! you have proven to be inept and unable to do what you were employed to do? How many have been hurt by your actions! or lack of!....... If you had any integrity at all, you'd resign, don't insult our intelligence by sending this tripe to our email boxes Leave us alone, you've done enough damage already!

Oh, one more thing, Kerry Packer established World Series Cricket as a protest against the ''Establishment' that in Kerry's mind was bringing cricket to it's knees. The players were poorly paid, Kerry changed that, cricket turned for the good, it became prosperous again, everyone benefited, not only the 'Establishment'.......but it took massive upheaval before change happened........history repeats, this is a Kerry Packer moment, a lot of lives and incomes depend on the right outcome, and Kerry took no prisoners, lets morph Packer and Peters, one still lives, cmon Winnie,' now's the hour.'......they sang that wonderful song to the Maori Battalion when they went to war, I hope Winnie realises that for some, or many, this is their last hope/stand.......or it's over.

Hesi, in all reality this could be turned around overnight, I think you know it, I know it, and most/all of the good people on here know it......all it takes, The Owners Association, yes, TOA........they call a meeting, they put up a vote of no confidence in NZRB and the show ponies at NZTR........they then direct their trainers to not nominate, then put a directorate to the Minister, no racing until both boards resign....that's what happens in corporate worlds, when corporate worlds collide. Just do it for Gods sake, they aren't going to resign, Peters knows that, they don't believe they have done anything wrong, they are blame shifters, therefore, Peters needs to act......of course as I've mentioned many times, there are many who have never had life so good, for various reasons, including no need to worry about prize money, as that is not their ''End Game'......trading, stallion syndications, seem to be the driver theses days, the majority seems to be for the benefit of the few!......the influence they have at the top end?....shame it has come to now before they stepped up to the plate, it's only now they give a toss....pleeease, the spotlight is on them, they need to get behind those at the coalface, it's a changing world, NZ is being left behind, the dissection of Mr Messara's white paper has been in general positive, it needs tweaking, but in closing I'd like to point out to Mr Saundry, the taking of, or the threats to take, the assets of private land holdings to prop up and bolster the failed business model that is NZ Racing, in many countries would be considered treacherous and predatory behaviour.....think carefully, as the public are revolting, now the storming of the Bastille is needed....the balls in your court, not theirs.

Bernard dodged the salaries question, they are in denial [human nature] to show the populace they are genuine they need to start retrenching. What a great look this all is, a top heavy failed business and yet it still continues. It's an absolute debacle, there is not a shred of accountability or transparency, no use spruking good governance Bernard, it's past you......what an absolute failed lot, come March/April when the so called race fields legislation etc is meant to launch, it will be the usual fizzer, but the salaries will still be paid to a massive lot of underachievers........obviously there are some in Petone that do give a shit......but their futile efforts would have been stymied by the suits above them......once the retrenchments start, and those responsible for some of the most unbelievably stupid decisions in racing history called to account, only then will we contemplate re-investing in NZ Racing....via ownership and breeding.....it's downright bloody shameful, and I for one am disgusted.

Gee, there's 700 noms because VIC has canned so many Sat races......there used to be up to 8 Sat meetings inc the Non TAB's......I know, we used to tow ours from Flemington to as far as Donald once......Non TAB, only 5/6K in prize money, but a bookies ring of at least 20, you could get set for thousands...not now.....VIC racing is not healthy, they have canned those race meetings so they can pay huge prize money in town, and pay back to 10th......there administration is so top heavy with huge salaries, totally overstaffed and underworked....sound familiar?.......NZ has gone same way........disaster!
-
You are right and you are wrong Shu, they have become a major target for the whales betting through the Corps......I love betting on those tracks, the horses that show form on them, keep showing form, the track at Geelong is different to Pakenham, so that has to be watched, but you watch, when the money goes on, they mostly win, or at least go close......and when David trained at Lindsay Park SA.....they had an uphill 1000m track, so when he bought his first staters or CSH for that matter, to M Valley or Sandown, or Flemington straight 5 or 6 especially,.... they just won......they just do it right that stable, always have, always will.
-
Here's a tip for you lot, you want to back winners? just back David Hayes INC horses on any of the synthetics, they hardly ever miss, he's an outstanding advocate for the tracks.
-
I only ever had one runner Cup day, in a straight 6 as we called it then.....but the thrill was, and remains, saddling up Sky Flyer with Deac....although he ran ordinary [Deac said he was a year too soon, and he was right!] he led into the straight and even Deac was effected by the roar, and Deac was never effected, I had a burst ear drum courtesy of Pauline!......Cup day has it's own place on the planets to do list, but for racing aficionado's, well Derby Day has no peer.....it's just a fabulous day.
-
There's a job waiting fo you in the Beehive Rich, you're a shoe in on those figures.

Get to the Valley via Tram!.....the traffic is shocking, always has been, the Tram is the go......Flemington has changed since I trained there, most of us were up on the hill behind the grandstand, now they are on course.......it will still be party central though, the car park cup day was going off at 5am race day....trying to walk our 2yo's over to the tie ups was horrendous and you took your life in your hands as so many were pissed already with champagne breakfasts.......Derby day was the best, classic day........but at least you will be able to say you've been racing during the Spring Carnival......special.
