  1. Tell us some war stories, Brodie.
  2. You writing is so obviously doctored and designed to stir I have to wonder who you really are and where you have come from. You can spell cahoots but can't use capitals or spacings, lol. Anyways, welcome realjoke.
  3. Will the Cup be run the same way? Lead and others give chase the whole way? Ultimate Machete skips and settles last would see him no chance then.
  4. Where did you see that? Off to America to race Christen Me in $20 000 claimers?
  5. Garrick Knight is always good to follow as he has up to date stuff and good stories. This one took my eye. I have never bet $1000 but how can they turn it down when Airpark Flyer was in that field in the Methven Cup? Really? You end up with 300 at 12s? Seriously? Who is 'Harris'? Known punter so restricted? Bloody PISSWEAK that a national gambling agency can't even take a $1000 bet and then only accepts $300. I'm lost for words.
  6. See the 2 big guns didn't get a decision today. Its a big call that won't be popular with some either way. Is it more a legal matter or a controlling body decision based on the best outcome for the sport?
  7. It ran so bad it could barely keep up despite being a 5 dollar shot. It would have been nice if it had been scratched. Did connections not know how badly it would run while in season? I know the horses struggle but it couldn't even run! MAMMA KNOWS BEST - hampered by a breaking runner near the 250 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver M Williamson advised the filly had been showing seasonal signs and he would be recommending to the connections that she not race in this condition again. Stewards will speak with trainer M Purvis in the coming days regarding this
  8. When was the last time a training partnership got the first 5 past the post? The only thing they missed was the first 6 with Ohanzee. Pretty impressive stuff.
  9. Maybe the starter should be spoken to by the stipes. hahahahahaha. ?
  10. It was a very tame race. No one moved until the last 400 so they were essentially handing the race to the front runners. Surely that won't happen with the Aussies in the Cup. You are going to have to step. First 2 in front after the start and stayed that way. Ultimate Machete looked set to go and then got made to wait for others (hate that) Star Galleria disappointing. Little chance on that run. No Doctor Needed has no chance of winning either on its run. Ultimate Machete was probably the run of the race. Still don't think he is 100% yet. Looks Ominous. Alta Orlando must be another good place bet with his form over 2 miles. The Aussies must be feeling good.
  11. and John Hay wins a race and it looks like the man of old... How fleeting is opinion!
  12. I agree. Its all mainly opinion, informed and uninformed alike. Water off a duck's back when one knows what is really going on.
  13. Horses feel the same way when you get in the sulky? ?
  14. Can't see a lot tomorrow at Forbury. Thought Rocknroll Magic was good place money at 3ff. The boilover might be Chaat at 17ff and 4.50ff
  15. Certainly agree after reading it, Basil. As a lay person I do not know the ins and outs of it all but it seems certainly reasoned and thoughtful. Interesting to see they are yet to see any 'details' of some of the proposals. I wonder how long that will take?
  16. I don't have time to read Basil but will do when I get the chance. It's very important and worthy of a critique.
  17. I would bet its just all different people for different areas and codes.
  18. Lol Umm....I'm on the podium of dislike! Oh no.
  19. 39 likes! We were long gone from that site if he has only that many. How would he know us all? Just a made up poster designed to bag us.
  20. Did I get bagged too? Love it when other site bags me. JJ flash was not around when we were there so another made up poster probably.
  21. The latest market comparing opening odds to now. Looks like the Tiger Tara early supporters are the big winners. Surprising so many have shortened up the top. Eamon at 9s? Star Galleria at 7s? I suppose Chase Auckland's demise did that. Shorteners: Ultimate Machete 5.50 to 4 80 Tiger Tara 18 to 6 Dream About Me 11 to 6.50 A G's White Socks 15 to 9 Eamon Maguire 11 to 9 Star Galleria 11 to 7 Captain Dolmio 26 to 15 Same Alta Orlando 26 Drifters Sheriff 7.50 to 15 The Fixer 11 to 18 Jack's Legend 11 to 12 Billy Badger 66 to 151 James Dean 101 to 151 Gone Chase Auckland 6 Sicario 15 Pat's Delight / Cash N Flow / Spankem / Classie Brigade 26 Buster Brady / Hail Christian / Tiger Thompson 66 Raukapuka Ruler / Mickey Gee 101 New to Market Cruz Bromac / Chicago Bull 9 Forgotten Highway 18 Northview Hustler 35 Letspendanitetogetha 51 No Doctor Needed / Alleluia 66 and a few others over 100...
  22. Would he go to Kaikoura too?
  23. Agreed. Just not a big old stand like the old days. Something like a viewing platform with a roof over it. Just an idea but something like these. Could work with some seats. These with a roof.
  24. Is he a false favourite for the Cup after his two runs back? Has he not come back as good this time around or is he just getting his fitness back? His lack of a dominant performance has really opened up the Cup for anyone. Maybe the horse with the best run will win the cup....
  25. Stands are out of date. Need to think outside the square for smaller clubs. Have shelters and picnic areas for people to enjoy the day rather than a 'stand' Smaller clubs need to make it attractive for people to come along.
