Imagine putting that much on and you get checked out of the race! -
It is always easy to remember the horses from way back that you had an affinity with. No matter how fast or slow they were. Hence, my user name on here. I liked Dainty Smooth back in the day. No one would remember her back in the day being off the track in a 2600m against the boys when they ran something like 3.16 which was eye opening back for the grade. I looked her up on HRNZ but unfortunately she never left anything good.

At the present moment, I am a bit tired of Greg and Mick. I haven't watched the Box Seat all season. Those two are so predictable,. Boy, do they need the Whale on there. I reckon they should throw in someone like Garrick Knight too, so there is REAL debate and make it worth watching. Instead of the usual dross. Be good for Greg and Mick too. Hard ask to keep things interesting when only two of them.

I love that feeling. Makes you a phantom owner!

I wondered if lightning was going to strike twice. Sure enough. Well done for getting the dough.

For me, $10 000 on Three Ideas for the place at FF 1.95 lol. Easy day of doubling my money! ? -
I just watched it. Tiger had a good trip in front and Chicago Bull was parked outside so it should have beaten him. Gottagoyahu was in trail and Franco Nelson was in 1-1. Hardly world beaters handy. Alpha Rock in behind and other non-descript Aussies. See he got second in his last start paying $1.04 for the place in a field of 8 which included Star of Memphis, Audi Hare and Bernie Winkle He will certainly be near enough favourite and he is a good horse but he won't get it his own way in the Cup. Makes me believe it is still anyone's race and the best trip may decide it. Won't be taking the $3.90
-
All the value gone. Waiting game for the day itself now. I still think Alta Orlando is the boilover at odds in the Cup.
-
now 3 90. Dreamland for the early takers.
-
If you had taken the 9s you would have been gutted to hear the news.
-
Now he is the only Aussie in the Cup, can someone convince me that this 8 year old is worthy of being considered a near enough favourite for the race or is it just hype because he hasn't fronted in any races in NZ? I haven't followed his progress closely enough to know.

Sorry, Vladimir, you actually have a few clues so poor comparison.

That is the way an oligarchy operates. RussianCafe.............Putin and his henchmen.

Same as in America where the lowest of the low horses run time. All conditions are in favour of the horse.

True, Basil. I just the remember the rant he made about ratings etc awhile back. I thought it was written by someone drunk. Go and have a look on RC...it will still be there lol.
-
I had a look. Why not. This JJ Flash quoted HTP first so he must have been over here looking. Maybe he was bored. Then he said HTP posts a lot of stupid things so he was over here a lot so must have been really bored since he is a newcomer to RC. Finally, Iraklis gives him a lucid description of what a bunch of wankers we are. Cheers. Well, 3 things will keep RC Harness going; any All Stars supporter; bringing up of ex posters; and made up posters like JJ who just seem to have the knack of knowing the history of once went on so they can drum up the antagonism of old to get more posts. My money is on one of the inner sanctum having a double called JJ Flash. It is all just too convenient and transparent. I hope I get quoted and abused. Feeling left out recently. Not like the old days when shit flew my way.
-
Yes, he once was. Now he sometimes acts as the propaganda wing of the All Stars.

Part of a NZ Herald article below. No one knows what is going on or what happened. Pretty weak journalism all round since they either have no links to Lazarus in the USA or can't even be bothered to find out what actually caused his failure. Crap journalism. It was a terrible weekend for two of New Zealand's best harness horses. Former Horse of the Year winners Lazarus and Monbet both suffered big setbacks and the immediate or even long-term futures of both are in doubt. Lazarus was a shock last in the Breeders Crown open male pace at Pocono Downs in the United States yesterday afternoon (NZ time) dropping out after leading to miss a place for only the second time in his career in the race won by his arch rival McWicked. Clearly the champion New Zealand pacer was ailing in some way and it will now be interesting to see whether his connections continue his campaign, bring him back for next season or if he is retired to stud. While Lazarus's connections will mull over his options the trainers of NZ's best trotter Monbet have had that taken away from them as the seven-year-old, who was supposed to return to racing at Kaikoura today, has been sidelined indefinitely.

It's odd how he says that (since he seems privvy) but nowhere else says it. Not news worthy?

From the informant. Not your best work, Garrick. Respect what you do enormously but it would be great to know exactly what has happened rather than speculation. It was so uncharacteristic considering Lazarus ran so well a few starts back when under the weather. There seems to be no information anywhere about what happened. All concentrating on McWicked which is fair enough. LAZARUS AMISS IN BREEDERS CROWN FINAL There was no taking anything away from McWicked, who was a brilliant winner of the US$430,000 Breeders Crown Open Final at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania on Saturday night (local time). But there is bound to be fallout from the dismal last-placed effort of New Zealand-bred champion Lazarus, who led, trailed and then faded out to finish a long last in the race.No information was immediately available, but at the best-case scenario appears to be him still suffering the effects of the virus that plagued him a month ago.The race commentator pulled no punches at the finish of what was being billed as the ‘rubber match’ between the dominant aged male pacers in North America recently.“This rivalry was decided decisively tonight in 1.49.3,” noted Jim Beviglia. -

There is no news to be found on the internet or twitter about Lazarus so I will be presumptuous and say he just ran badly. If he were in trouble, the news would be spreading as fast as a breaking race fixing scandal. ? -

You know that 3 year old maiden horse that starts against the best 3 year olds in the NZ Derby and drops out a long way from home.....
