  1. C’mon “the crowds won’t be so far away“ down the back straight the track will be closer! Grass track racing will never be replaced and it shouldn’t be that’s just a stupid statement and you know it is The idea of an AWT is to provide a consistent winter surface for racing, trials and training. This will be done at Riccarton the SI track with the most horse numbers that provides runners for all provincial racing
  2. For what its worth I spent an afternoon on the last day at Royal Ascot in the company of John Gosden, well known as one of the very best trainers, he was absolutely in favour of the use of AWT and races many of his best horses on them. I would prefer his knowledge over all the doomsayers who have never even seen one but seem to be experts.
  3. I agree there will be horses that hate the AWT and hopefully there will be some that thrive on racing on same
  4. I’ll put up one months training fees that’s WORTH about $10,000 ( not what I charge but that’s what it’s worth) haha!
  5. Thought so! Ducking for cover Ring the people in charge send them an email don’t bother coming on here and saying “I wouldn’t count on your AWT BEING BUILT ANYTIME SOON” then bailing out when challenged what odds how much big mouth
  6. Didn’t Hoki race at Omoto last season That was after the current lot gave most away
  7. I honestly don’t know and have not asked about the top up money to build the AWT l didn’t know Tim and I were “in“ BACK TO OUR WAGER WHICH YOU SEEM TO BE AVOIDING What odds how much can you handle Simple question answer it According to you the AWT won’t happen By the way 40 race days does not span 40 weeks they have 3 days in a week during N Z Cup week comprende!
  8. So ring the CJC and ask them don’t hide on a keyboard ASK THEM I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THE MONEY IS COMING FROM, DO I NEED TO? What’s the odds How much? Simple mathematics are you up for it or just talking shyte DON’T make things up to suit yourself I never said “I won’t have to travel again“ 35 days at Riccarton means our horses will have the opportunity to race on 35 days at our base without traveling outside Christchurch This does not mean we will never travel. All clubs in the South Island have our support except INVERCARGILL and Greymouth Oh and the gutless Hokitika outfit also We also look forward to the Wellington Cup carnival every year, especially the Telegraph
  9. I’ll clarify just for you It makes no difference to it getting built or not In regards to our ‘wager’ where the money comes from is irrelevant Are you prepared to back up your statement I am so what odds how much can you take Don’t back out now Ring the CJC and ask them about the $6m or put it to the open forum they are having re their input I expect a rise in track fees due to the superb training facilities we will have I am sure some clubs will lose race days that’s a given. Thirty five race days at Riccarton no travel bring it on!! So you state the odds-I’ll beat them No smoke screen questions
  10. chief stipe Don't shirk the question What odds how much can I get on built within 18months put your money where your mouth is I don't know it makes no diff it will be built, you mouthed off put up
  11. OK chief, you put up and so will i what odds will you give me on the AWT being built at Riccarton within 18 months and how much you are prepared to take?
  12. More rubbish, I think Freda knows me a lot better than you do!! I live hour by hour and put probably more thinking than most as to where and when we race/place horses. Freda will back me up. Besides answer this how many horses do you think we have in work at any time, not on our books but in training.
  13. So what’s your suggestion re a handicapping system? You must have one, you wouldn’t be criticising just for the sake of doing so
  14. This year our horse Magnolia Man made a winning debut at Kurow (30th Dec) then backed up to win at Waikouaiti (1st Jan) with no ‘help’ We once had a horse that won 4 in 7 days on the southern xmas circuit. Now the administrators of this game try to stop you backing horses up as they have a ridiculous 48 hour rule.
  15. As someone who also had Don Bradman stats one year I wish Lisa all the best. I remember one trainer pointing out to an owner how bad we were going when we were 1 for 115, we won 20+ races over Xmas racing and carried on. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Lisa and her team will come good
  16. No slb2 But real people don’t hide
  17. You don’t need to have ridden as a jockey to have knowledge of racing so why the smart comment
  18. And what have you done in racing keep hiding Who are you? at least I am prepared to put my name to postings unlike you hide behind Joe Floggs
  19. I think you will find this will be mitigated by the movement of the leader who rolled out as Bowman went for gap Not saying I agree with this as a defence but just wait and see. He will still PROBABLY be suspended but not as severely as we all first thought
  20. I think our teams progressing ok given we don’t go to Rangiora trials and aren’t noted wet track trainers. They’re probably not as fit as some but they have been racing in races to suit where they are at in their preps and development.
  21. Given the support by "TRAINERS' for 800m and 1000m races on resuming, I suggest you just ignore your fellow trainer
  22. Are you blind
  23. Yes apparently Te Akau coming in August good owners, good for local farriers, vets, etc
  24. Now that the dust has settled, It's good that common sense prevailed and these two historic Group 1 races stay at Riccarton Park, as predicted. I now wander how those trainers who berated them being run in Christchurch can justify bringing any horses South
