I agree with Curious they are not the main race track, at Riccarton it will always be the grass course proper. At least we can say goodbye to Rangiora, Motukarara and a few others
-
Just add up the venues due for closure Ashburton will become an important alternative to Riccarton Not with an attitude like you have
-
That just sends your argument for 1600 horses out the door, but wait, they show a field of 14 runners on their website!!!!!
-
Riccarton may eventually get close to 40 meetings a year, as other tracks are closed, they will not all be run on the AWT. Can you not get your head around that I train at Riccarton never heard of having close to 1600 horses there Cambridge might but a lot of them are trial, sell, RTR horses that never race in NZ
-
Yet another negative reply so what if they don't train on it they hold 59 meetings a year ffs who came up with 1600 horses yes and maybe bookmakers should be allowed to operate in NZ everyone acknowledges good for training heres an example of plenty of good racing.

For those people who don't agree with how good AWT racing can be look at this chelmsfordcityracecourse.com read it!!!

I want to make it quite clear I have never been asked my opinion by any NZ Racing Officials re shifting the Guineas races North I have registered my disgust with NZTR And B Saundry NZ Cup Week is clearly the best week of NZ racing why any one considers changing this week is beyond belief It is over 6 months away FFS!!! So what is happening with Hastings if the Guineas are being shifted because of Covid 19 then the Gp 1’s there must be due consideration, will Southerners be able to travel and compete, Will they be Retained as Gp1 races? I believe, for once, common sense will prevail in July and the Guineas Races will not be shifted and remain where they have been successfully run and developed since inception- AT RICCARTON Tony Pike and many other Northern Trainers have brought horses South and have used Cup Week as a precursor to greater heights why change historic patterns, using Covid -19 AS A REASON is theft by stealth IMO LEAVE THE GUINEAS WHERE THEY ARE-Develop your own races

Not in July, it has been well advised that racing kicks off at venues with fibre optics only INVERCARGILL and Riccarton in SI have such
-
The best weeks racing for all three codes in Australasia should be protected, not decimated. But given how this industry has been run in recent years am I surprised?. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it comes to mind here, it’s 7 months to Cup Week FFS
-
I think it’s disgraceful the Guineas races are being Considered to shift north 7 months out from Cup Week The fact that Northen trained horses dominate is one reason. Does that give CJC AN ARGUMENT for THE stewards to Be upgraded to Gp 1 taking over the Telegraph??! Has any race shaped the NZ breeding industry more than the 2000 Guineas some of NZ’s most successful home grown stallions have won the Guineas, Balmerino, Vice Regal, Uncle Remus, Little Brown Jug, Sir Avon, Kingdom Bay, Random Chance, Krona, Danske, Kings Chapel, Darci Brahma, Jimmy Choux, Rock ‘n’ Pop, Sacred Falls, Atlante, Turn Me Loose, Xtravagant The trip south didn’t harm their careers Perhaps a date later in the season would be more appropriate.

You are expressing your true ignorance how many earn a living out of a tangi, rowing boats or yachting. Racing is non contact and it is being proven across the Tasman that racing can still be held safely. Strict protocols by clubs will mean people will not be in close contact It has been suggested that horses are trained 50 metres apart. Thoroughbred racing will not commence before 1st July
-
I am and have been taking it seriously thank you. I had a staff member arrive back from HK 5 weeks ago I made him self isolate for 2 weeks then get a doctors clearance perhaps if the govt made others do this at the same time we wouldn't be in this mess so deeply So don't bother telling me to take it seriously as far as I know most training facilities will remain open so that when we can resume racing there will be horses ready to go. Take your negativity away and apply to something else we need to be positive-that I am SERIOUSLY
-
So what about those that have been spelling do you leave them out a month longer or another 2 to 3 months When racing restarts and it will, we will be ready to go as I hope many others will be.
-
If cleared why wouldn't it kick off asap - 1st May , 1st June at latest training facilities should remain open Horses still need to be fed, cared for, exercised

It's Mathew Enright the day he had a punt and got the money at Trentham i think on a horse trained by Gerald Innes -
I trust that PC will have no bearing on safety here. The safety of horses and riders is way more important than that!!!! I don't want to believe that decision makers are going to be embarrassed over this venue but it is looking increasingly like it
-
Where will they race? At home, Greymouth or Reefton? I think it should be Reefton, best track on Coast with good facilities. I hope decision is made early enough so that alternatives can be organised. I have seen photos and videos of Kumara track and it doesn't look good.

Do you really think one day at Waikouaiti can be that influential.. By the way I don't believe for one minute that they have ever had close to 10,000 at Waikouaiti- not my figures. But maybe 2000 to 4000 and I have been coming here for over 35 years
-
So this year they must have made a lot more money than 10 years ago and still had a WONDERFUL CROWD good work!!! 10000 for free equals nothing 2000 @ $10 equals $20,000 I know which day I'd want to be counting the cash

Is angry another word for the truth and you don't want to be told, then thanks. Another stirrer with no skin in the game hiding behind a nom de plume, who are you?
