  1. Agree especially when they are well, try that one on Dummy Myers.
  2. She'll probably win a couple on her home track this weekend, so get on! and usually when it rains it pours! I don't think you can say she hasn't had the cattle though, she has some pretty well bred stock go through the stable particularly compared to others.
  3. Having said that would it matter if they were 1mill or 250k so long as all the hype, marketing & promo with a twilight Saturday racemeeting in summer was still all part of it?
  4. But NZTR are clearly supporting/influencing them. Wouldn't happen without them. Take for example the venues plan all made with this in mind.
  5. This is what happens you don't have strong leadership in the industry or persons running it who haven't a clue about the advantages or disadvantages of such decisions. Don't forget the head of NZTR thought horses galloped every day till recently, that might seem like a small thing but it gives a fair insight into the lack of knowledge these people making decisions have regarding the sport.
  6. Once again much like the M report and the fair tax stakes increase a decision made on benefiting a certain few instead of the many imo.
  7. I hope I'm wrong , but I just feel like this whole dependence on putting racing onto AWT in NZ is going to ruin the sport in NZ.

    Why?

No its a very difficult job in NZ especially, but tipping 4 like they do well success rate should be a bit better than it is. The trouble is in NZ its formula tic to a certain degree.
  9. I couldn't agree more, it does help riding for a top trainer and knowing what you have under you when you likely ride them at work. She is definitely a star in the making if she wants to be. Here is hoping.
  10. Does the watch and bet actually show the game? It doesn't on my phone if it supposed to.

    Why?

I agree, but just seems to me one entity should be looking after all of that stuff not split or duplicated between the two.

    Why?

Does anyone know why NZTR or Loveracing ,now have TS1/TS2 and Loveracing Form,Tips etc on their website? Just interested to know is this part of what they are now morphing into under the new act? i.e. dissolving responsibilities to the codes. I'd have thought you'd want the access to the TS channels available at the source of betting, to generate interest in opening an account punting etc? Does seem to be a bit of duplication going on between the TAB & NZTR if not.
  13. No argument from me there, but when you have a horse and you want to run it and don't make the rules unfortunately you have to take what you can get so I can understand owners / trainers wanting to race.
  14. I get very annoyed when you go to check a result by checking the race number tab and nothing comes up seems to happen alot. So you have to click results tab, very annoying on phone.
  15. Absolutely and from an entertainment point of view am I the only one who finds it incredibly boring?
  16. Haha I'm exactly the same, if I hear Rodley or Sweeney pick them & I've already had a bet I bang my head on nearest wall.
  17. Indeed take nothing away from her but she was in most cases certainly getting on the right horses.
  18. Unfortunately they ain't gonna get it right in 5mins, I see no problem with splitting the race to a lesser stake, it's hard enough to get your horse a start as it is if you're down the ratings at least they are attempting to put on races. The programming has always been poor at the moment it's probably the worst it's been there is no progressive thought in the NZ calendar around leading horses through distances ,grades, tiers or to the bigger events they (racemeetings) do seem to be just thrown together.
  19. I agree with you, All horses are different, but thinking you gallop them everyday just shows an utter state of ignorance.
  20. That's an incredible comment and sums up the entire industry really.
  21. Someone from the TAB said yesterday turnovers have been very good. Not sure if they are taking into account more races, larger fields, no other gallops but on Saturday, but just goes to show they didn't need to chuck unsustainable amounts of money at Prizemoney to get ok turnovers.
  22. Exactly great fields for the exotics as well. You don't need superstars in every race, just a difference of opinion to create a market.
  23. I would not be surprised in the slightest if it is a funding issue with regards to the stakes. It wouldn't suit everyone and may not be compatible with the broadcast issue they are having , but wouldn't they be better to cut stakes in half for a few weeks to get through this bottle neck and get horses a start , have an extra meeting or two whatever is required just to get the industry up and going again? There would be complaints about it for sure , but we are probably going to be racing for about that amount in the new season at any rate, you aren't going to get anywhere in saving this industry by denying horses a start that much is certain.
  24. Which begs the question , what have they been doing for years? All right to run around and kick the smaller venues in the guts and tell everyone how much of a big guy you are but you've got to also make sure your shop front is ready to go and fit for purpose, the problem is they haven't done that. There is a whisker on the line between RITA and NZTR as to whom is the worst communicator they have both done a poor job at this. Its not ok to communicate just what you want , people in the industry wants answers to real problems no PR!
