Did you see the start in Race 11, The Drymix Cement Trot. WTF?? What the hell was Lamb doing. Sugar Cane was standing sideways when the tape went others were also out of line. Sugar Cane looked like the strand wrapped round its leg cos starters' assistant had to untangle it from horses legs. What a bloody disgrace on the most prestigious harness racing day of the year. This fella has to go.

Agree. The Fixer was no where near the barrier strand when the jackass Lamb said go. He skipped for a few strides but soon got going fortunate that most others did not make flyers either. Lamb must go, he has had years on the job and is still hopeless. Sack him.
  3. R. Dunn was saying in the pre-race interview that Henry Hubert would go forward, blah, blah, blah.... all the usual Dunn bullshit. What happens the horse does the opposite of what the trainer said and pulls back. Meanwhile, while he is pulling back the All Stars all head for the front, pace on, you have no show R. Dunn. Why do trainers like Dunn say one thing then do the total opposite?
  4. Agree. It is daft that these horses are included in the most prestigious harness race of the year. None of them belong in the field and are unlikely to get a start anyway. If the worst happens and some do start at least they are on the unruly mark so should not get in the way of more fancied runners at the start. It is also a concern there are so many horses on unruly.... two Dunn runners Alta Orlando and Zadaka get starts. Will these horses cooperate or will they hold up the start? If they lineup quickly and go good, but if they muck around we could see a Lamb special... horses out of line, facing the wrong way, standing sideways, when he says "right". worse a false start.
  5. I can say what i like Mr Mardy. Who are you to tell me that I am not entitled to my opinion? Have I ever sent an abusive reply to you? Get over yourself mate, and stick to giving out tips. I do not believe that a horse should be at the races when it is not fit to race. Surely to send a horse to the races that drops out with 800m is wrong? Whether Mark Gill lives in Blenheim is irrelevant; he trains the horse and it should be fit when it leaves his property. I live in Blenheim quite a bit too. A competent trainer can get a horse race ready without trials. He's Fast and Furious is slow, poorly gaited and trained, and weak. I think the horse doesn't like racing and should be retired.
  6. Hobby trainer M. Gill had one of the worst UDR of all time last season. This season he will be hoping to better that dismal effort. Going by his stable representative He's Fast and Furious (should be more aptly named He's Slow and Feeble) performance in Race 5 at Kaikoura this afternoon that will be difficult. What a poor effort again from this horse , which was beaten at the 800m mark and battled home from there. Clearly, the horse is not fit, like most from this stable, and should not have been at the races. Why race an unfit horse?
  7. No, Blair Orange, John Dunn, Nigel McGrath and Andrew Stuart are not the epitome of harness racing if the allegations, soon to be charges, against them are true. Whether they are likeable and work hard is irrelevant. Were these gentlemen thinking of the "good of the industry" when they allegedly conspired to rig races? When these people are charged and found guilty, as I believe them to be, they will have done so much damage to harness racing that it may not recover. Some might say it is karma for a certain stable following a stablehand being "chucked under the bus" after a Forbury meeting last season.
  8. Jail time?
  9. Because his heroes the Dunns are involved.
  10. Brodie is pissed because his heroes the Dunns are mixed up in this shocking debacle. He has always portrayed the Dunns as honest, hardworking and the epitome of what is good about harness racing. On the other hand, he has often accused the All Stars of team driving, intimated drug use and that they are BAD for harness racing. Now, we find that apart from Ms Rasmussen being charged with drug dealing, which I don't condone if it is true, the All Stars have nothing to do with this growing and alarming scandal. It is time to face the truth Brodie, the Dunns are not as squeaky clean as you led us to believe. The joke is on you.
  11. Andrew Stuart is a mediocre trainer with a poor record. Last season he won 12 races from 182 starts, stakes $120,295, UDR .1274
  12. Hobby trainer M. Gill must be the worst harness trainer in NZ possibly the world. His horses started 93 times during the 2017-18 for a paltry two wins and a pathetic UDR of 0.0502!!! Has a trainer ever recorded a lower UDR? Hopeless.
  13. Mr Munro is from a reasonably successful harness family; I believe he is son/grandson/nephew of trainer Neil Munro who tastes success from a small team. It is possible to make a living out of the industry without having a harness family behind you... think R. Todd. Unfortunately, Mr Bronson Munro, has done himself no favours with his unacceptable behaviour. He may be best to consider another career option.
  14. I can understand why the owners would do this. Personally, I think Sheriff is overrated and I do not see him figuring in the Cup etc because he is not, in my personal opinion of course, good enough.
  15. Since the arsenic "tonic" was outlawed the Premier Stables results have been poor. Perhaps that is just a coincidence, but perhaps the masking agent tonic "helped" them?
  16. Ha-ha... best laugh I have had to today. What do the Gills contribute to harness racing? How are the Gills vital to harness racing and its sustainability? Why are they just as important as the big guns on Cup day? The Gills represent slow, unfit horses that are usually beaten 1000m from home. Yes, the food suppliers for the Gill stable will be doing well, farriers, harness sellers and repairers... poorly trained horses like the Gills eat as much as an All Stars horse. But that is where it ends... I doubt any horse in the Gill stables pays its way therefore they are a liability and do nothing to enhance harness racing. None of the present team of Gill horses would get a start on a premier day like Cup Day so your point is in invalid. To the Gills harness racing is a hobby and that is Ok but don't try and tell me they contribute something to harness racing because they don't. If they disappeared tomorrow no one would notice and no one would care.
  17. What a halfwit you are. Are you saying Purdon and is not a proper craftsman? Thanks that is the best laugh I shall get today. Have you been smoking the same stuff that the two Aussie All Star employees that featured in the news early this week? Purdon is a top square gaiter trainer. Have you forgotten about a horse called Icandoosit? He was one of the best trotters in the past decade or two.
