  1. Or "Brodie's Forbury for Value"
  2. Congratulations young fella. It's good to see your horse in winning form on a premier night. Miss Donnelly, an underrated trainer, has done a good job with the horse. All the best.
  3. Congratulations... your horse went a good race. His ideal racing manners will see him to the fore next season. All the best.
  4. Many don't like change mate. Some of them whinge more than a pom in a rain storm. I think the new HRNZ website is wonderful. I don't think it needed improving because it was great before... one of the best harness sites in the world in my old humble opinion. But now it is even better. It looks great on my MacBook Pro. Keep up the good work CP.
  5. It is not hard to navigate.... very easy.
  6. I have been to the new HRNZ website and I think it is great. There was nothing wrong with old website which was one of the best but the new one is an improvement. You can get all the fields on one page easily enough if you open your eyes young fella. Take a peek at the top right hand corner where there is a TAB named "EXPAND ALL RACES +" If you click on this all races are shown with extended form. This feature is also present in the results section. If an old fella like me can use the new website it should should be a cinch for a young fella like you...
  7. Mr McGrath is a good trainer of young stock. He is a master at getting horses going early but his record at keeping them going is not so good. Most of Mr McGrath's better nags reach a mark of C8-C9 (I am using the old handicapping because I don't understand the new system) and they then struggle to progress further. Few of his horses have measured up in OC. Long before the All Stars domination McGrath's horses struggled in OC so it is nothing new. I am not sure why his horses do not compete at the highest level. Any more knowledgeable harness people than me, like my good friend Brodie, have any idea why?
  8. My hero...
  9. Another poor drive from Clint Ford on Marcoola. I think it is time he gave up the driving duties in favour of Sheree Tomlinson.
  10. I have scanned the Forbury fields and come up with an omen beat for you my good friend Brodie... Race 7, Yaldhurst Tavern Junior Drivers' Trot, #14 Humble Ladd All the best.
  11. It's hard to understand although the horse has good breeding on dam side. I am not keen on dams' sire Elsu but the mare is one of a family raced successfully by the Eskdales in Southland. Jay Bee's Fella, would be the best of them I think. It also has Key Miss as third dam who was a good race mare and left a good line for A. Miller of Longbush.
  12. Are you on the ale again FU?
  13. Yes, Ashley Locaz went well and well driven too. Williams drove three winners today...
  14. Yes, great drive on Bubbled Up. I thought she had zero chance with 100m to go but he found room and BOOMFA!!
  15. Believer? Not sure what you are on about FU... have you had a few ales???? I thought Hunterthepunter made a good point and it is an interesting one. The likes of Anderson and Payne served apprenticeships under two master horse trainers, Mr Timothy Butt and Mr Mark Purdon, a chance few get. What did they do while they were in partnership with these masters as they appear to have learned nothing.... did they just make the tea, clean (or lick) the bosses boots, jog horses and clean the tack? I am sure my good friend Brodie doesn't have an answer on this subject either.
  16. I don't the know the reason why G. Payne's a shocker of a trainer compared to M. Purdon. But his lack of success is not unusual and often happens when the junior partner splits from the main man. Another example is the Butt/Anderson team. The team was a success but since the split Mr Timothy Butt has kept on training winners while Mr Anderson would be lucky to train a winner a season. Why is this? I live in Blenheim so have no idea how much time Payne spends at the Hornby pub. Sadly, if what you say is true, it would not be a surprise because a liking for the ale has ruined many a good man/woman. Can other forum members more knowledgeable than I remember other successful training partnerships where when they have split one of the trainers has faded into oblivion while the other continues to thrive. It is weird I agree Hunterthepunter.
  17. Good grief... for once I agree with you Brodie. Far too much crap offshore racing on offer by TAB. Stick to NZ made.
  18. The Sunny Glenis run is a good guide to the track conditions on the night... they were poor at best. This mare is a noted wet grass track performer and last night was right up her alley. She has been racing consistently lately but has never performed well at Addington. She was helped by the No. 1 draw which meant she did nothing during the run while the runner-up Globe Trekker started from 10m and lived up to its name by covering extra ground. Sunny Glennis also came on the strip of track about four or five carts out... a number of winners, including Lotamuscle, used the same strip. I didn't bet either but enjoyed the races I watched.
  19. I have found just the place for you. Head down there and tell everyone the way it is. You are a whinger and will feel right at home. https://www.facebook.com/thewhingingpomcafe/ Bob Butt was fined for overuse of the whip as was Robert Anderson... more for you to whinge about. You will get old one day, perhaps you will mellow with age.
  20. Give it a rest. You sound like a whingeing POM!! Why do you always have to whinge and being constantly negative. Usually you rail against the All Stars winning everything and when they do get beaten like tonight you are still moaning. You are the most boring and negative poster on this forum and never have anything worthwhile to say always bagging someone. What a bitter man you are.
  21. Exactly. Leading horses were struggling all night. Quite a few winners came down the middle of the track like Lotamuscle did to nab the leader close to the line... Sunny Glennis, One Change and AG's White Sock also used the same part of the track to power home and nearly nab Turn it UP. Tonight is the worst I have seen the Addington track for some time.
  22. All the best for her future racing.
  23. Third place OK. Has this nag got a name?
  24. There is little Ms Ottley can say, or any horse person whether a trainer or driver, regarding P. Lamb. All that you say is true but that is immaterial. P. Lamb does not have to answer to anyone. NZHR has failed to take any action over his many, many poor starts so they are not going to change now. Any criticism of Lamb, however justified, is not tolerated. I remember Mark Jones said negative things about P. Lamb on The Box Seat years ago. Mr Jones' comments were true but he had too quickly recant his words so clearly he was reprimanded by high up officialdom. All horse people know this and have to toe the line.
  25. Congratulations on a fine win.
