Yes, Cheerful didn't have much hope from barrier 9 but didn't stop trying in straight. Big run from the Nairn runner too
-
The horse was having its second start. It raced at Addington couple of weeks ago and also ran sixth... didn't show much that night either. Maybe one of those horses that excels at trials but doesn't emulate that on race night?
-
Disappointing run from K. Barron runner Noosa Beach, easiest run in the race and showed nothing. Overrated?
-
Unfortunately, Brodie Mr P. Lamb has set the standard. Lamb has made starting a joke but nothing is said about his continual stuff ups. So, I don't blame others for following suit.

You will be pleased with the Wrightson Fillies Race 6 at Addington Happy? There is a hefty stake $150,000 up for grabs and not an All Stars horse in the field. Personally, I think it is one of the poorest fields I have seen for a race of this stake. Nine starters and none of them potential top-liners. I wouldn't have a clue who is winning this. I like the Brent Gray trained filly but bad draw so I don't think she has a chance.
-
Yes a great effort by Michael House, well done. I still worry about the viability of the area's trainers if House is going to clean up every meeting but nevertheless House deserves credit. Young Sarah O'Reilly also going well. She has inherited her father's driving genes, her grandfather and uncles were also pretty good.

I am going to spend some of my Amberley winnings on Enchantee for a place. I think she can surprise from the ace draw. The Le Lievre team is going well and G O'Reilly also driving confidently. I don't think the field is that strong, apart from the All Stars pair, and I expect Elle Mac to lead with Enchantee sweet in the trail.

I hope Dark Horse gets back on track. It is sad when a horse with ability goes amiss. Unfortunately, it is usually the fast ones that get injured. Good luck with all your horses in the future.

Ms Oldwhitewoman was very happy with her $10 ew on Tequila Sunrise at Mot so I shall go again and think he'll go one better this time. R1. Tequila Sunrise (2) R2. Alston Roze (10) R5. Blazing Impact (10) R9. Mikey Maguire (10) Fred Fletcher is my favourite trainer and this horse never goes a bad race, will be winning tomorrow.

I can say what I like. Both Purdon horses did a power of work, both three-wide for some time. They were put into the race and it cost them. I thought The Fixer in particular stuck on well. Neither of the Purdon horses are as good as the likes of Smolda, Lazarus or Adore Me and they did all right for the class of horse they are. Do you think the winner would have been so impressive if he had drawn the outside? The Purdon horses were far superior to the other NZ horses Star Galleria and Rakapukupuku Lad, both these horses did nothing during the running and the latter in particular was beaten a long, long way from home. Reid's horse not much better. With the drawTiger Tara had he was almost unbeatable and I doubt even the likes of Lazarus could have beaten him on the night.

Cobber why don't you email them and ask? helpdesk@nzracingboard.co.nz As Ms oldwhitewoman says if you don't ask you don't get. -
Yes, he won well. The draw helped but impressive victory all the same. All Stars horses went OK both had tough runs, the other Kiwis never got into the race. Raupukuku Ruler beaten a long way from home. What has happened to this horse?
-
Yes, he is a good horse over the shorter distances. Sprinting is his forte, let's hope he gives away the two mile slogs and concentrates on what he is good at. Speed. He was hopeless in the Dominion beaten a long way from home.
-
Thank you for the upper cut!! You are right Mr Williamson is still winning races, I do not dispute that. What I should have said was that he does not have any top liners these days. As you mentioned Brodie (why does he popup in every thread?), I think he was right, and I don't often say that, to state the wins at Forbury don't mean much. Williamson has not had a top horse for a long time. His last good horse was Springfield Richard, didn't he win the Dominion as a 3-year-old? One Over Kenny and Jasmyn's Gift were good too. Both Springfield Richard and One Over Kenny raced against some of the best trotters ever, including Icandoosit and Stig, and were competitive. Nothing in his stable today, including the two battlers he took to the Interdoms, are anywhere near this class. All trainers have lean spots and perhaps Williamson will have another top liner one day, but as it has been a long time between drinks I doubt it.
-
Parked the trip? Did you watch the race? Flying Even Better was not parked the trip. The field was in Indian file for the first 800m, then Noosa made a run and dragged up the Williamson driven runner. Noosa made the front at the 800m mark, Flying Even Better was parked from that point, not the trip. I thought the third horse Virgil was the run of the race as it was checked during the running, last turning for home and came home strongly. He is one of the first crop of Sweet Lou and looks alright.
-
Most Williamson runners disappoint these days. He doesn't seem to have the same polish on them as he used to.
-
Yes, Brodie can choose to do anything he likes in his dungeon... it is his choice. Horses on the other hand don't get a choice about whips. I am certain if they had a choice they would say no whips!
-
I don't agree with your whip stance. I believe whips should be banned.
-
I don't think you are always on the money but on this occasion you are. I think the duo you mention did not read the whole article and I can't really blame them because it is boring and badly written. The information about Motukarara closing should have been near the top of the article not hidden near the bottom. Nevertheless, facts are facts and the article states Motukarara is slated to close in the Messanara Report so you didn't lie.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/110239425/nztr-propose-to-make-10-racetracks-redundant-this-year Many of the 10 tracks NZTR proposes to cease racing at are dual purpose with harness racing meetings also held at the venues. "The Messara Report slated for closure: Dargaville, Avondale, Thames, Rotorua, Wairoa, Stratford, Hawera, Waipukurau, Woodville, Reefton, Greymouth, Hokitika, Motukarara, Timaru, Kurow, Oamaru, Waimate, Omakau, Winton, and Gore." "clipped from linked article" As most on here know Brodie and I do not often agree but in this case he is dead right. Kapiti, in fact Central Districts harness as a whole, cannot survive if small fields like this become the norm. Michael House supports the area by entering horses in most races. That is good for him and his owners and also good for this clubs because without Houses' horses many races would have six or seven poor quality starters. But there is another side to this also, his dominance. Michael House is too successful and wins the majority of the races in the area leaving crumbs for local trainers. Local trainers will not survive if this continues. It is great to see that House has Sheree Tomlinson driving most of his team. She is an asset to harness racing and is already an accomplished driver who will only get better if she keeps getting support like this from trainers. Well done Michael.

Ms Oldwhitewoman enjoys a few of these without the sunset, so my omen beat. Race 3 Tequila Sunset (9) -
True but Easton Light was an exception. Furthermore, the horse in question did not start its racing career until it was aged, likewise the stablemate who was even older. I agree neither horses or trainer have ability.

Ms Oldwhitewoman would punch me out if I tried anything like that HP and I'd be sleeping in the woodshed for a month.
