  1. Perhaps they could run a race or two for galloping pacers and trotters at Westport Christmas Meeting. Second thoughts you'd probably need three races given the number of horses that will break on the first day. You could lineup all those that lost a 100m or more and run a gallop, slap a saddle on them and away. Perhaps a 1000m sprint. It would be good to see and some of the nags might be able to run fast enough to get a sweat up in a gallop as many can't get warm in their chosen gait.
  2. Perhaps an all-up with its equally talented stablemate He's Slow and Sedate... if that comes in you could afford to see in the New Year in Hawaii!?
  3. Go for it mate! After the horses dire performance at the MOT it couldn't do worse... or could it?? Perhaps the Westport gallops would suit better? Seriously, I wonder if you could explain to me the rationale behind turning a slow, slow pacer with two placings in many starts into a trotter then get one of the worst junior drivers to drive it on debut? Senseless. Talk about throwing money away. Lunacy.
  4. Why is One Over Da Stars allowed to race? Yes the horse has ability but obviously no brain. It is time this horse had to trial well at least three or four times. It is lunacy that this well-bred but loopy nag is allowed to race weekly when it seldom finishes a race or is disqualified. It cost punters... those stupid enough to back it and there are plenty of those... Ridiculous situation. Yes I know one day the mare will do everything right and bolt in but how many poor performances will there be before this happens. Back to the trials until you can race properly or off to broodmare paddock.
  5. He was a very average trainer but I hope he is enjoying his retirement.
  6. All Stars paid $3.40 in two year old, good money. This race was an illustration of why the AS dominate - well schooled stock. While the likes of Jeremy Wells was an expensive flop with a dismal performance in front of the whole nation on TV the pardon runner was tradesman like and got the job done.
  7. I believe the race was forecast live on the show that Wells fronts, don't know what channel as don't watch. What a great look for harness racing, not. Thousands would have watched that performance and said WTF was that... The message is clear: Trainers if you are going to hype up a horse, name it after a television personality please make sure the nag is foolproof before taking to races. Last night was a joke, Jeremy Wells made harness racing a laughing stock. At the moment the sport needs good publicity instead we got more bad.
  8. I am also concerned about one trainer dominating and winning 10 of the 16 races at the two-day meeting. This is not good for local trainers when an outside trainer comes in and grabs most of the loot. How are CD trainers supposed to survive and pay their way? All credit to Michael House, he has always been an innovator, but I wonder about the viability of local CD trainers if House continues to dominate. Houses' success could kill CD harness racing.
  9. Cruz Bromac? Probably opt for the horse Natalie Rasmussen chooses to drive in final.
  10. That stable have paid a lot for a number that have been flops. The 3 European trotters, the Odgers bred horse etc. Not a great strike rate in the past decade or so. The stables best horses are homebred by S. Brown in Dunedin. Perhaps that tells a story...
  11. Allstars won't win the Trotters Final Probably win Pacers... get ready
  12. I don't like anything tonight but Clive has been going excellently at trials/workouts. He could be a place chance in R8. It's a small field though, maybe take him trifecta with Mikey Maguire and Tact Maggie?
  13. Harness should lead the way and ban whips.
  14. LOL!! Brodie.... always on the money... NOT.
  15. Good drawer main factor...
  16. I not saying he is not a good horse what i am saying he is not a top liner. He won well at Methven but poor field no stars present. I don't think he is good enough to beat the likes of Pat's Delight, Spankem, Cruz Bromac, Tiger Tara even Star Galleria who performed below expectation at cuppa time.
  17. they are good trainers. But the White Socks nag is not that good, he won today because it was a very weak field. the horse struggles against quality opposition.
  18. I amazed you appear so blaze about this Sunrise? If it was another stable, like the AS for example, you would be jumping up and down. I think there is more to this... Butt has been in the game a long time and unlikely to make a mistake like this in my opinion. Tthe horses went poorly on opening night so Butt was giving them a little tonic
  19. She was a good mare but always seemed to draw poorly. Had two bad draws over Cup week and still performed well. I can't blame the connections for selling her as it is hard once mares get up in the grades. Gerard O'Reilly did a great job with the mare. Hopefully he will get another one as good soon.

Hopeless start. Just like the Cup the No. 1 horse was three or four metres from the strand when he said "right" Back in Mulcay's day the No. 1 horse was the first to line up on the strand then the others line up. Now it is a lottery. Sack him.
  21. Not good enough again. Gait looked dodgy today too, nothing like the flawless gait of Christian Cullen. ??
  22. He couldn't make it three in a row. Weak effort Cup Day. Just another overrated Dunn runner?
  23. I don't know... you would need to ask the horse. I guess some horses go faster, others resent being hit. Now getting back to the question... You are like the Brodie, never answer a question, when you are backed into a corner and wrong, which is often. Brodie claimed that The Fixer should have been disqualified because Natalie Rasmussen was charged with excessive whip use and that Tiger Tara should have been promoted to winner. I pointed out that McCarthy the driver of Tiger Tara was also charged with excessive whip use. If The Fixer ought to be relegated according to Brodie, then so should Tiger Tara for the same offence. That would make the third horse the Cup winner. Personally, I would ban whips.
  24. No, using your logic both The Fixer and Tiger Tara should have been relegated as both Natalie Rasmussen and McCarthy were fined for excessive of the whip. Using your logic, Dream About Me, is the winner of the Cup?

What has that got to do with Lamb's hopeless start?
