Teaz, we need to get you back commentating. Like Mana would be a good start. How can we scheme this up lol. Actually not really joking. Will elaborate when time is right. Actually funnily enough remember I had rage not long ago when a friend of mines son missed travelling team Olympics 7s mens this year. Good news he’s been signed again WAY before his 7's contract’s up for the next 3 YEARS. Hahaha, they were worried he was going to sign elsewhere after the big burn. Anyway sometimes they learn when they have made a mistake! Ok thanks for that Gamms re stayers and Menga miles.

Yip good tho that many are aware of this now, helps more than being naive & eyes closed. Anyway Ill change your story to also read not 8 years of lockdown but on/off lockdown. Ha. -
1 thing I have noticed Gamms is some Camb horses, e.g. Spirit of Anzac, actually think you pointed that 1 out. Then Shanlou wins at Menangle last week, also Bankers Gold placed 2nd in a group 3 & same race Viva Las Vegas placed 3rd (the last 3 are ALL Lous so kept an eye on). Anyway point making is ALL 4 were Camb horses now over there & straight off the bat pretty much, winning or placing Group 3 level at Meng. Does that mean Camb horses are actually Menangle level .... ? Also remember Red Reactor winning soon after arrival in Oz in a Group 3 at Menangle.

Was thinking about this & thinking its a good idea & perhaps a good PRO for Manawatu to put forward. If only 2 tracks in North, Cambridge & Alex, if anything shows are Covid lockdowns its GOOD to have more than just 2 options per Island - re region for racing. North needs to keep 3, Alex, Cambridge & Mana. -

Hey Mikey NZ Ill finish off timeline tomorrow & perhaps edit your bit just slightly as per something along the lines of the following hehe. Due to all crazy times the world has experienced over the past 20 years. There is a world wide food shortage. The Chinese owned companies in NZ, that are also part owned by CCP, that export food back to China, as part of level 4 lockdown have been told NO STOP exports by NZ PM. BUT due to world-wide food shortage, millions are dying & the CCP leader, has threatened if you DONT send the food we will come in. (We OWN these companies). Their ships are not far from our shores. They have undercover agents already working in amongst us e.g. police, within parliament. IT, schools, power companies etc. Its a matter of loo paper survival. Reality is the worst in people comes out. The more desperate the times the worst it gets. What do you think peeps would start doing in NZ, if they said there was a food shortage. Goodness only knows. Now lets think about that with another country that needs to feed their people. -

Yip well anything is possible these days hey. Speaking of Alex. They are hoping to increase stakes, e.g. Auckland Cup to go up $100k - $200k & also another feature race to raise in stake approx same amount. And they are also hoping to increase all other non feature races to $15k. Not really an increase when It used to be $20k not that long ago, but up is better than back down. Who knows of course when this will happen. Hey we could add it into our timeline 😁 -

Truely no idea. Have never looked nor studied it. Someone else might have an idea ... Trying to strike an age group champ or open class horse isn’t it either flat out luck like getting a lotto lucky dip (except the cost of ticket is thousands oppose $1) or strategic luck where you have a top broodmare e.g. Adore Me & then breed from her. Take a look at Lous top performers, just as those are ones Iv followed: Sweet On Me & sis Darling Me Virgil & bro Aladdin Sugar Me Sprit of St Lou Fabrizio All are from top families and/or a branch within a top family tree. Dam-sires are Bettors, Art Major & Christian Cullen. The majority, rest Lous, whilst clearing maidens quickly, soon fall into the majority of R40-R60. (And of course also have a percent that are above average). Heres the example on strategic luck as Spirit of St Lou open class same family tree different branch as Doctor Love 1 win. So if one wants to increase odds (strategic luck) breed from a top family/branch. Of course most likely know this therefore, costs to get into these families are thousands. (Sugar Me’s) 1/2 sis at weanling sale last year was in top 3 most expensive $50k a filly by Downbyseaside sold to Stonewall Stud.

Ranga perhaps you could do some more filling in the gaps or Gospel. 2003 - 2005 are missing or 2007 - 2010. Here is our timeline so far added more to it 😄 1999 - Hanrahan May & The Tough Nut were 3 from 3 on West Coast Christmas circuit. Westport & Reefton Cups and the Digger Hartigan Memorial. This feat was repeated a few years later by Jimmy Fried Chicken & Highview Badlands. 2000 - Leroys Lad raced. This was to enable more runners a fair chance in home run 2011 - A horse no longer faces mandatory disqualification for passing inside the marker pegs in the final 600m of a harness race.Exceptions to a horse being disqualified are now if it is established that the breach is caused by interference by another horse or horseman, or it is established that the horse did not gain any advantage in its finishing position. The board of HRNZ proposed the rule change at the suggestion of the Racing Integrity Unit, who felt it was unfair to disqualify a horse who had not gained an advantage. 2020 - Online auctions started to take place Gavel House providing the platform. 2021 - Year daughter of prob BOAYS most fav poster graduated law & how stunning she is. Gamms you must be proud. Brains & beauty. Right adding to hot list haha. -

Come on someone come in & play timeline game. Just Ranga so far. Gamms, Taupiri, WAD, Poster M, Gospel, Robalan, JJ Can any of you think of anything like a substantial change or even just a mini change that happened in 1999? If not then what about a memorable racing memory 1999. -
1999 - 2021 - 2041 - The Past - Present - Future
Karrotsisback replied to Karrotsisback's topic in Trotting Chat
Hehe Ranga. What year did they introduce restrictions? That could of been a post from Brods & then we could of started a timeline from 1999 doing each year until 2021. Feel like this year 2021 is the year of the Cross Roads for harness in NZ. Just hope that which ever road is taken its the right one. Just saw an article on hrnz about how a 90 year in Aus is returning to training. How fab for her. -
Remember back to the eve of 1999 the Y2K theory. How weird it seemed to be going into the 2000’s. Take a second to think back to yourself then & where you were at that time. Gosh the year 2020 seemed like something so far away, a lifetime away. But here we are, in 2021 NYs eve 2022 on horizon. Pop in this thread anything you can recall good, bad or a horse race memory, changes that have happened between this timeline. 1999 - 2021. Gamms, Ranga, Mikey NZ enjoy sharing Nostalgia times. Now lets take a look at 2041, because this date in time will come. What does racing look like? Could be a silly answer, a humorous answer or serious. Current time 2021 is this YEAR of Cross-Roads for Harness? Currently in a transit season. BIG changes are on the way. Shut your eyes Harness folk, imagine yourself behind your fav horse & in the sulky BUT on the road - (we play imagination game) - now what road will you take, North West or East? Or will you turn around go back South? Warning if you go back South, the road will not be exactly the same. Each road has a different ending. Which road has the pot of Gold at end or does any at all, is this a trick? The gallop peeps helped me come up with this idea for a thread. Thanks Gallops peeps. (Owe us favours anyway after taking Saturdays). So e.g. a post could be something like Year 2020 no more Saturday racing. Or Could be 2020 radio was discontinued, then 2021 radio returned. Posting about where we are in 2041 no right or wrong answer as no-one knows for sure Harness racings fate.

On no took the bait, that was very naughty of Karrots doing that yesterday, bordering on getting sent to the sin-bin for time out, sorry bout that Brods, Saw this good interview out yesterday, link attached Breckon Farms, seems like a good guy. Anyway they are not naming their horses this yearling sale, said also neither are Woodlands. Thinking this is a good idea. They have plans/hoping to expand to re breeding. https://www.hrnz.co.nz/news/one-on-one-ken-breckon/
-
Yes excellent idea. There for sure would be broodmare owners out there that are trying to find a breeder for their mare. Or even ones that a stud e.g. Alabar or Woodlands has sent back, that then the owner needs to place mare. Could create a go-to-list of Broodmares available if there isn’t already one. Also to remember you brought this up & agree, that Black Type thing to be changed, altered or another category added. Oh no idea. The last I saw in news neighbours complaining as it was gathering up leaves, uninhabited for months & they were unhappy about it. Wait so your an owner too, well I never, was thinking breeder. Altho come to think of it, think I know which horsey you may have. If correct the trainer has hip-chic style - Karrots digs the shirts 👍. Will keep an eye out for when races again 😄

However thank you, this has given me an idea for a thread to start on the Harness side which Ill do in perhaps a few days. Its actually quite interesting. Thinking of the long term Future and what it holds for racing. Nite all. -
