They are obviously so thick skinned and clearly don’t take in how the 3 codes hold them with disdain and contempt . Looking from the outside there are certainly signs of corruption within it , they the RIU must be oblivious to what is actually needed by the 3 codes regarding keeping the participants within the rules of racing . Honesty and Integrity went out the door years ago and the consistency that people ask for is not there . The only way I can see anyone making a difference is to work within , meaning placing people like Yankiwi within the code and let them do what has to be done to bring it back into line . At the moment every participant within the code sees the RIU as a joke . And to be perfectly honest they are .

A week or so past a large trainer had a bitch scratched as she was bleeding in season So was scratched on the table in accordance with the rules yet a Stipendary Steward tried to have that ruling overturned so that the bitch could start but the vet stood her ground and stood by the rules . And what do you know within a week of that bitch being in season she “ miraculously “ recovered from her seasonal complaint and her 28 day standown was rescinded . Amazing

If the RIU are serious regarding Integrity then the appointment of a Chief Greyhound Steward needs to be outside of the current individuals they employ. I think Charles ( Yankiwi ) should apply for the position , this job should be held by someone who can 1 ) Read a race 2 ) Able to distinguish the difference between failing to pursue and marring 3 ) Must not under any circumstances have any ties with any kennels from the past or in the future . 4 ) lntegrity and Honesty are paramount for this job . it’s honesty your industry needs so Charles you need to apply

The unfortunate thing about this whole affair is that all the Cole dogs will be the outright losers in the end , any dog having been on that property will have too have their licenses revoked as everyone of them has gained an unfair advantage so of course cannot race . I went to an all boys religious school for all my schooling life, around 4th form I received many detentions mainly for rebelling or speaking my mind . One particular day this teacher gave me detention only me , he locked the door as I went in he then placed his hand on my shoulder I gave him a right hook and sat him on his arse I stood over him and told him he was to never touch any students ever again unlocked the door and went home. Next day at school I broke into this teachers draw where he kept his leather strap around 15 inches long , I cut that strap into 15 one inch pieces and placed it on the teachers table . I really did get in the shit for doing that but I can tell you I know that teacher never ever laid a hand on any student in all the time I was there . Cutting his leather strap up turned him into a broken man. Sometimes the things you do in life may be unpleasant at the time but it certainly defines the path you end up taking in your lifetime. Obviously lay down the rules to accomodate the trainer . Both of these Stipes need their contracts terminated immediately . Talk about corruption , your silence is defanging Michael Godber.

One of the first things that needs to be done is have all the betting sheets pulled up on this dog from Monday , this looks and smells like a complete con job on the Greyhound code in conjunction with a couple of stipes and a vet . Michael Godber you need to stand down these Stipes while this is investigated but not by the RIU as they cannot now be trusted , as we have all seen the RIU show all the hallmarks of corruption .

Are there not any rules in place for this , if a trainer were to take it back to a vet within a certain time frame to have it rescinded you would think that a Stipendary Steward would need to be present but being a different one from race night and the same should apply to the vet , must be different from race night . Does anything like this happen

There have been many many questionable incidents that have been embarrassing for the RIU , but hell this would have to be the ultimate fuck up and shows without any doubt there is corruption within this so-called Racing Integrity Unit . The Stipendary Stewards and the Vet who were working on the night need to be stood down immediately , this absolutely reeks of corruption to the core . This needs to be placed in the hands of the racing minister . It shows the RIU is out of control

What better to work the system , the Stipendary Stewards wife is the farmers ex daughter in law and now it seems she still out there weekly for a catch up . So at this moment the dog industry has two Stipendary Stewards who have extremely close tyes to the two largest kennels in New Zealand . In the South Island you have the farmer and in the North Island you have the poodle . Mr Michael Godber what kind of RIU are you running , you should be ashamed . I think it’s time that for the sake of the New Zealand Racing Industry meaning all codes that the RIU be disbanded , closed whatever you want to call it . The RIU as it is now has that smell about it , like a rotting carcass.
