  1. I accept this point, and it is fair, especially on hounds.
  2. Brodie, if the syndicate has 300 members and the bet is $1000, that is, roughly a $3 bet per person (I know different people have different stakes). This isn't one person having a big bet, this is 100s of people, collectively having a little bet in unison.
  3. Great show with a big profit for those who invested. Gets better and better every week.
  4. did you win Broadster or did Gasso get the better of you? I heard one team with a large total got DQ'd because they didn't bet on the last race.
  5. Saturday at Riccarton is now THE day for the young crowd.
  6. Cup Day numbers have fallen off a cliff the last few years. Gone are the heady days of 20,000+
  7. Another great night of entertainment. And all the more enjoyable because Brodie doesn't get it or understand it, and has to cry about it. Like EVERY. SINGLE. OTHER. THING.
  8. it's 100 shares (10% of the horse) for $150 apiece ($15,000). Perhaps you should apologise for your slander.
  9. The starting pot from viewers has steadily increased from $8,000 to $17,000 across the course of the six or so weeks so clearly it is resonating with people. Old curmudgeons set in their ways will never, ever like something like this. But Betcha is not targetted at them, is it.
  10. few old grouches in here afraid of change. Newsflash: Thursday night harness turnover is garbage so next to no-one is watching/punting. So why not try something different? Pots both weeks have been over 10,000. One made 30% and the other took a minor loss (maybe 10%?).
  11. Those Aintree fences are a lot different to the Aussie ones. A horse like Captains Run would be good at Aintree.
  12. I am certain that would include trebles, doubles and quaddies.
  13. Bro it's not 1990, you best ignore tote pools.
  14. Dates are now listed in a story on HRNZ. Turns out the ninth meeting was Oamaru, not Palnerston North.
  15. Right you are! I was confusing it with Grand Eagle, also previously owned by the Neills, wearing their colours, and trained by the Dunns. This makes the betting plunge more understandable.
  16. With DOML now standing Gimpanzee and Tactical Landing this season, I would say that's a safe bet. I'm no form expert like you Brodster, but it certainly has not been going well and generally the Dunns will get the best out of most horses.
  17. All I can offer is this - the mkves are within the rules of the series and HRNZ regulations. None of them are world beaters and at least some have been in the Southland horse pool recently (but I accept a could like Blazing Knuckles have not).
  18. These were new dates over and over existing budgets, and were always dependent on certain funding levels being reached. I can only assume hey have not. One would haven to ask, in this situation, why the new Auckland dates weren't removed as those require the most funding for the least return.
  19. Couldn't tell you but will endeavour to find out tomorrow.
  20. Branch is likely going to contract back to the Club to help execute the Night Of Champions. Unsure if that includes slot distribution.
  21. I am saying Michael House has a legitimate, registered base in Southland. Just like Robert and Jenna Dunn do in Auckland.
  22. Horses have fallen in jumps races forever and a day. It's statistically the safest it's ever been. "Poor tracks" - it's winter and zero meetings have been cancelled. Am I blind? I just watched six great races at Te Aroha.
  23. What are you even on about?
