  1. Thanks Hedley, very sad for the family
  2. Agree, as I said it is a starting point to give an idea for further analysis. I threw it together when I got the app. yesterday just for fun and am not surprised Mr T. thought it accurate.
  3. Mardi, Mr Tosser takes my posted assessment on another thread, says its from the app to confirm his struggling dribble when in fact is was my calculated assessments (3.3 lengths plus adjusted time) for a starting point to further analysis. He really is struggling.
  4. Actually Mr Tosser that is my actual calculated data and not the app. Trust you to not read it and just take what you think confirms your point. It is my assessment as a starting point for further analysis. You really are struggling
  5. It's a guide to further assessment. I think it could be helpful with maiden races for instance
  6. Butchboy runs 1:35.77 over 1600m to win. Panzerfaust runs 1:36.08 to run 5th. Butchboy actually runs 1607.6m and Panzerfaust 1612.8m. That's 5.2m extra for Panzerfaust. Time adjustment to 1600m sees both horses run the same time, 1:35.32. Converted to lengths (Official time minus adjusted time divided by L/S), Butchboy runs a further 3.1 lengths and Panzerfaust 5.3 lengths. That is 2.2 lengths further for Panzerfaust against Butchboy. Butchboy won by 1.8 lengths.

  11. To be fair, Mr T. will claim only 4 horses met his personal criteria...the 4 winners
  12. the jockey is S. Rusof and he has been fined before for excessive whip use. Following the running of race 10, Racing Rotorua 1560, an Information was filed pursuant to Rule 638(3)(b)(ii). The Informant, Mr Oatham, alleged that Mr Rusof used his whip excessively when riding YORKSHIRE DALES prior to the 100 metres. Mr Rusof acknowledged that he understood the Rule and confirmed he admitted the breach. Rule 638(3)(b)(ii) provides: A Rider shall not: (ii) strike a horse with a whip in a manner or to an extent which is excessive The “Guidelines With Respect to Acceptable Use of the Whip” provides: Without affecting the generality of Rule 638(3)(b) a rider may be penalised if their whip use is outside of the following guidelines: Inside the final 600 metres of any Race, official trial or jump-out a horse may be struck with the drawn whip up to five times after which the rider must cease their use of the whip for a minimum of five strides before striking the horse again with the drawn whip, with this restriction to apply prior to the final 100 metres. The whip may then be used at the rider’s discretion until the winning post is reached. Prior to the final 600 metres of a race, official trial or jump-out the use of the drawn whip is acceptable if used in moderation and not continually. Mr Oatham demonstrated the incident using the available video footage. He identified Mr Rusof and showed that he struck his mount 8 times prior to the 100 metres. He said that Mr Rusof paused his use of the whip for only 1 stride. Mr Rusof accepted Mr Oatham’s interpretation of the incident and added that he misjudged the number of strikes.
  13. she ran 2nd in the AJC Australian Oaks to Gust Of Wind (2400m).
  14. Unlike many elite racehorses, Winx does not have a particularly long stride – her stride was measured at 6.76 metres (22.2 ft) compared to nearly 8.5 metres (28 ft) for Black Caviar and Phar Lap. Instead, her success has been attributed to a "freakish" stride rate that allows her to take 14 strides every 5 seconds, compared to 12 for her rivals. "This means she can settle or accelerate at any time during a race," said Dr. Graeme Putt, who has studied the science of racehorse success. "I think this makes her unique."
  15. Exactly but they won't come all this way just to get beaten. She has nothing to prove
  16. 14 Apr 2018 - Jockey Note : “She’s just an exceptional athlete, she creates so much attention, I’m just so elated, I’m so proud of her and I’m just so proud to be a part of it. There’s so many cogs to the wheel and I know I get the dream ride here today, she’s so exceptional, she is able to overcome everything and what a pleasure she is for sport. I know I’ve got the engine to round them up, but I can’t do it on my own, Ambitious made a bit of a mid-race move, which fortunately played into my hands. The bottomline is she’s got 10-12L on her rivals, it makes it easy for me.” 2 Sep 2017 - Jockey Note : “He certainly made a race of it. At the top of the straight I wasn’t worried last start but today I really was. What she did today was incredible, I mean everything she does in incredible, but I’m lost for words. I’m concentrating on just keeping her balanced but when she hit the afterburners at the 150m mark today I just can’t explain the feeling.” 19 Aug 2017 - Jockey Note : “I was thinking it could be mathematically impossible to catch them but there was nothing I could do about that I just had to rely on the engine that I know is in her, I couldn’t take off at the 700m to get closer or I would have run out of gas, so I just had to have confidence in her and ride her to run a race. She’s just so much better than them and I had to rely on that to win the race. I’m proud of her and it’s been such an amazing journey for all of us and judging on what we saw this afternoon we might be in for a few good runs yet.”
  17. Blinkers on would make her run even faster
  18. If you can understand the pace of a race, both before and after a race, the world is your oyster.
  19. copying mine over to here from BODS and BOWS thread... My thoughts for Te Rapa though I don't like betting there. Te Rapa: Race 1. Assign won maiden as a 3yo at the Curragh (Ireland) over 2000m fresh up and also fresh up over 1800m at Sandown (Aus). G2 winner of Herbert Power. Now 8yo who ran bold 3rd first up in NZ at Waterlea 29 April 2018 after 162 days. Never handled heavy track the race after. Has been freshened and a couple of trial runs. Small field and will be paying outside odds over 2200m. Hard to beat Jochen Rindt here. Certainly value bet at $14.00 (Bet Easy) Race 3: Angel In Bluejeans fresh up over 1600m but has done so before. Currently at $7.00 (Bet Easy). Race 6: Foxbridge Plate. A couple at reasonable odds are Start Wondering and Underthemoonlight, $9.00 and $8.50 respectively with Easy Bet.
  20. Good win this track 3 starts ago and excuses latest 2 starts after trials win. Wonder Lass at good value Mardi
  21. The cost of inflation took the fun away.
