  1. How does the utterly incomplete bully Glenda the badwitch Hughes still have a position power in the wider Industry. Mind you the saying gone to the dogs has probably never been more appropriate.
  2. The best thing about the otherwise unappealing Alexandra Park is the Grand Harbour restaurant on course. Last time i was invited there it was a great night seated in the restaurant and walking out to watch the races. A lot of courses should just forget about trying to be a hospitality venue and focus on core product. Give free rent and fit out contributions to experienced operators for a pop up and/or allow Food trucks to operate on course.
  3. McKenzie was an abject failure on every level. His interviews on TV were cringeworthy and nothing more than meaningless rhetoric, utter BS and incessant "you know"s. This Tod bloke cannot possibly be any worse and is hopefully a hell of a lot better.
  4. Quite funny that this Dan Smith whoever he is but he certainly has important titles now seems to be her boss.
  5. They may as well appoint Ellis to take over from Saundry. He seems to run the show already anyway.
  6. Absolute garbage. But no surprise when you look at who is running the joint.
  7. Surely there not as bad as Peter Early therrrrre? There is only one way to listen to horrid greyhounds. With the mute button on.
  8. Richards will obviously be overseeing the NZ operation until he goes to HK in about 4 months. But when he leaves NZ and leaves TA that is when his name has to leave the race book as TA trainer. Surely?
  9. 100% agree with you if TA was setting up a stable in HK and he was running it there. But surely it is very different if he is no longer employed as the Te Akau trainer? Or have I totally misunderstood the situation?
  10. Principal David Ellis said on SENZ radio that Jamie Richards would remain as the named trainer for Te Akau until the end of the season even after he has left the operation to train in Hong Kong. Seems a bit odd.
  11. Agree. Well past his use by date. Bring back Chris McQuaid.
  12. Jamie Richards is an outstanding Trainer and more importantly a fine young man. TA and DC can spin this all they like. Jamie is moving on to bigger and better things and they will be devastated he is going. Shame.
  13. Huey Dewy Louie and Thomas. DC would love to have you in the next champion.
  14. Not a great ROI. But at least he potentially still has a breeding career unlike Lethal and No Limits.
  15. Because it is an NZTR rule as i understand it. Ok ive never seen an ownership contract.
  16. Shame to see this very smart 3yo may have run its last race. But at least its still entire and has a Group One win for its Stallion breeding syndicate so will be very valuable. Just out of interest since this sort of thing has to be legally disclosed. If/when it is sold to a stud does anyone know what commission is payable to the trainer or the manager or both?
  17. I understand that the senior rider referred to above stated before race 1 that it would be the only race held on the day because the track was unsafe. In a media statement the club subsequently rolled out the old "safety is paramount" so we did the right thing edict. Really?
  18. As an owner of horses that were pointlessly transported from the Waikato to New Plymouth and Trentham this past week I can say definitively that I will never ever race a horse at either track again. Heads have to roll at both Clubs.
