  1. Make it $200 and I can be his fav charity. At the moment the TAB is my fav charity
  2. Well found. Won like the best horse in the race. Hope you got plenty
  3. Woodlea Jewel started short today at Invercargill. Ran last despite having impressive lead up form. Sat at the back doing SFA. Moved forward but quickly apparent that nobody was home. Not being wise after the event, just giving my take on todays run. Would you back her next start on that run if she started at $1.90?

From a punters perspective, to wager there you'd need to be a heartless bastard condoning diabolically bad practices and a compulsive gambler that has the bar set at zero. They can't shut it down fast enough in my opinion. If they allow it to continue everyone who enables that is a scum sucking maggot.
  5. it seems many people have forgotten that critically important aspect. It is a complex issue but October 7th is the detail protestors and the media in general are often completely ignoring. You can't do that and expect meaningful dialog will follow.
  6. You could see a long way out it was times and margins. I can't recall a positive test but that certainly doesn't mean there wasn't one. I know about the Aussie Raider Juniors Image who won the 1971 Interdominion Grand Final at Addington beating Stella Frost. He was disqualified a week later after a positive caffeine result
  7. Apparently had been working the house down and her army of new owners just kept backing her. We don't know what we don't know Brodie. If we were punting on race and trial form you wouldn't have her as odds on fav. As for Mrs Ed ....but she cares...haha
  8. You remember the Cup that year Newmarket? Margins.....a cricket pitch

  10. Great pic Gammalite. Memories rush back in. There is a lot of irony in this photo for me. I have great respect for the entire Jones family and loved Hands Down. ....and Lord Module will always be my fav horse just as the mighty Gammalite will always be yours. Isn't memory lane a neat place to go and visit.
  11. knew you'd appreciate it Shad. Basil Dean was a big fav of mine. I can recall numerous great battles with Sir Castleton and co. As for the far king dogs. I couldn't believe what was happening on NZ Cup day. There was a TV blaring in the members area with greyhound racing on. I didn't see a single person showing a blind bit of interest in it but it just carried on devaluing such a magnificent day. Some folk just don't get it Shad
  12. A few tried Blackie ...truth is if you hand up then you've lost control and then have to come off the back of a warrior and run past him. As you know, very few ever did that. I had a fascinating chat with Pete about his drive. As you know he was only 26 and having his first drive in the Cup. It looked like he was holding Old Bill for the last hurrah but looks can be deceiving. He just knew Hands Down would keep giving and he got the very best out of him. Had he panicked, he would have run second. Superb drive from a terrific guy and a champion driver from a wonderful family. You're absolutely right, Delightful Lady clearly headed Hands Down in the straight. Without wanting to embellish this race, I see it as the harness version of Bonecrusher / Our Waverly Star in the Cox Plate six years later in 1986. Pete had something else on his mind as soon as he won the Cup which made his drive even more impressive. That something would have been a big distraction to a lesser person but that's the character of him. Top shelf just like his dad DG.
  13. We are pulling strings Rangatira and hope we can see that mouth watering replay. Scotch Tar had the speed of a pacer. Unsure if you have FB and can see this old replay but if you can, you'll enjoy it. As will Gammalite, Blackie, Shad, Galah, Brodie and the rest of the crew. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1235515803713092
  14. 100% Brodie. Last week I said Mossdale Ben would near have to fall over to get beaten in the Marlborough Cup. He ran fourth but that's ok. I'll still put up horses I think will win ...or won't win and I'll do so prior to the race. That guy is a deadset plonker ....always has been, always will be.
  15. What a complete eggplant thing to say. Always easy to be wise after the event. I analyze a lot of form and also felt the price was too short considering her race and trial form. Nobody said she couldn't win what was a fairly ordinary race, only that based on the information punters had on hand she was too short. Not easy to see how a mare can find an easy five lengths after three seasons where she won two out of twenty eight starts....then remarkably wins three on the bounce in her fourth season. The third of those wins was so impressive the crew are now looking at starting her in a Mares Group Race. If you can predict that sort of thing with the information at hand you must have won lotto a few times. I know a lot of owners but don't know any that would win with their horse and then laugh at an experienced punter that felt she was too short. I met several of the big crew of owners @ Nelson. A good bunch. The betting movements were strong but we've all seen thousands of "good things" on the tote get rolled over the years. The guys I met were a happy lot with no small minded vindictive pricks amongst them. What I'm saying is you're just a troll. Nothing has changed. Give yourself a girly upper cut and slide back under your rock. I encourage Brodie to share his perspective. Sometimes we get it wrong but that's why it's called gambling. I'd rather have that than your spiteful bullshit from the shadows....after the fact.
  16. I'm not to going to knock her but Moonlite Dream has to be awfully hard to beat. She's got an excellent record on the track and ran a fine second behind Got You Covered last time out. G.Y.C would eat that field for breakfast. Only reason her price has drifted is related to the bets going on Woodlea Jewel. Should be a good race to watch.
  17. Having six kids teaches us patience Rangatira....and of course the need for a money tree in the back yard You'll know that Old Bill won the FFA that year as well as the Cup as many Cup winners do. He dashed past Lord Module late which as you know, very few did that when L.M began with them. We haven't got the FFA on tape but we are going to try and source it. The Cup was converted from VHS to a USB only today. DG was a terrific guy. He's one of the few in the game you'll struggle to find anyone that has a negative word to say about him. His deeds with The Bloss post her racing career reflected a man who loved his horses and harness racing in general and never missed an opportunity to promote both. He was also great with people regardless if they were dignitaries or people who just needed a hand up. A huge loss so am stoked to see him in the clip in addition to a 26 year old Peter who drove Hands Down that day like he was Fonzie without a care in the world. Hard case seeing owner Bill about a foot shorter than the mic to make his speech and Rob Muldoon getting his usual warm welcome....aka a round of boos
  18. I felt the win yesterday was her most impressive. Worked to get the top and came up the home straight without a care in the world. Remarkable turn around. Also impossible to deny that Carter drives her and others in the team like they can do much more work than all the others and still beat them comfortably. Certainly drives with confidence. I see Tom Twidle won easily with Cardi B yesterday. Would it be unreasonable / unkind to question if she could be the new Armalight if she transferred over to the Dalgety Stable? Maybe there's just extra good water in Canterbury at the moment. Will just go and ask Barry Ward
  19. There is some truth in what you say Aquaman. The one thing you'll get absolutely zero argument on is that we can trust the vested interest media about as far as you can throw an adult Elephant. I can no longer watch CNN for example. It's vomit inducing. They should be honest and rename it "The Democrat Network"
  20. I'm an empathetic guy HR....so have adjusted my level down in order to communicate with you.
  21. I won't be betting but I'll watch all the replays when I get back from French Pass tonight. One horse especially gets my attention. Heartbreak Hotel in the first @ Mt Hutt. I know he has more than enough ability to win this on his ear but he did my head in @ Nelson. Over the years I've had a pattern that routinely works beautifully. Any trotter that goes out fav on debut but loses the plot is an absolute must follow in it's second run. Heartbreak Hotel proved to be the exception there. I've seen strong evidence that the trip away to Nelson has been Gold for numerous Canterbury horses. No reason whatsoever that Heartbreak Hotel can't be another one. I'm also a big believer in the importance of stable form. Every bit of my research prior to the first day @ Nelson was screaming out to me that Scarlett's Legacy was ready to win. She didn't but on Friday night with the gift of another ace draw she delivered. If Heartbreak Hotel wins the first today it will turn around a disappointing trip away to Nelson for Gavin Smith with pretty much his entire team.
