  1. It is usually silt(very fine particulate matter) that blocks drains
  2. I presume it will be, once formally released This site will put up a link to the report if one is available
  3. That's the quaddie for Hesi hesi Members 643 876 posts Report post Posted August 3 (edited) Going for the quadrella Legs already correctly selected Trump wins the Presidency The British and Irish Lions win one or more tests Winston picks Jacinda(some thought it would be Nats/Greens, and we are still laughing)
  4. Hot date?
  5. I think punters and those interested would quickly come to grips with what data was important and to be looked at on a regular basis, and what data was on a need to know basis. I would find it very interesting, say in a 1200m race, looking at what distance each of the runners has actually covered, bearing in mind there are other factors to consider
  6. Yep along the lines of
  7. The more data you have on any sporting contest, the better you are able to analyse the performance of the participants. With cricket, it seems like every time you watch, the presenters have more data available to analyse the performance of a side, batsmen or bowler. As for who pays for it, who funds for Cricinfo, as it is free
  8. Thanks, is it available on desktop Punters Intel Brought to you by Racing NSW, Punter’s Intel provides the ultimate tool to access race data and view dynamic 3D replays of NSW thoroughbred races. Performance data is collected 50 times per second via saddle cloth mounted transmitters and collated in the app to show race times, sectional times, distance travelled, top speed and positioning for every horse in the race. The app also allows users to view a 3D simulated replay of the race and control camera angles as well as select data to be viewed throughout the race.
  9. How is it that Cricinfo can do this and keep on improving it , and Racing stumbles along year after year. I've followed cricket and Cricinfo for many years, and it is impressive the amount of data and presentation that is available through the technology that is being used
  10. Have a look at Cricinfo at the wealth of data available on a test match under stats and hawk eye http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/18018/statistics/1119551/england-vs-india-3rd-test-ind-in-eng-2018 Why can't racing get up to speed with related data like this, pretty sure the technology is available via GPS 200m sectionals for each race Therefore the ability to look, at last 600m, first 600m, mid race sectionals etc etc GPS tracker for each horse, showing the track it took in the race Therefore the ability to look at each horse, compare runs by adding in selected horses, get a total distance run. Would take a lot of the guesswork out of how much further a horse runs when it draws wide or comes 8 wide on the turn etc etc

    What a laugh

The guy that invented toxic, the guy whose toxic demeanour has almost wrecked a site, blowing hard about toxic posters. poundforpound Open Class - R121 MEMBERS Reputation: 1,141 Posts:1,326 Report post Posted 55 minutes ago A beautiful story. The most impressive part of which is how he empathizes with the horse, the “I’ll take care of you, and you take care of me” connection. The great jockeys do that, but sadly too many jockeys, riders, horse people still think horses can be bullied and beaten. I also wonder how the many harsh jockey critics out there feel when they read that, noted most of them have migrated elsewhere, but I’m sure their ignorant and toxic attitudes remain.

  12. If you look at the video, the jockey hit Melody Belle 13 times in the last 100m
  13. Here is the NZTR rule NZTR DIRECTIVE Acceptable Use of the Whip Effective 1 August 2017 New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing have considered and issued the following guidelines with respect to acceptable use of the whip. Rule 638(3) A Rider shall not: [...] (b) strike a horse with a whip in a manner or to an extent which is: (i) unnecessary (ii) or excessive (iii) or improper Without affecting the generality of Rule 638(3)(b), a rider may be penalised if their whip use is outside of the following guidelines: Inside the final 600 metres of a race, official trial or jump-out a horse may be struck with the drawn whip up to five times after which the rider must cease their use of the whip for a minimum of five strides before striking the horse again with the drawn whip, with this restriction to apply prior to the final 100 metres. The whip may then be used at the rider’s discretion until the winning post is reached. Prior to the final 600 metres of a race, official trial or jump-out the use of the drawn whip is acceptable if used in moderation and not continually. Notwithstanding the above, it will also be deemed to be unacceptable where a rider uses the drawn whip: • when a horse is out of contention • when a horse is showing no response
  14. I think many will recognise that she has inherited a very difficult set of circumstances, infrastructure, wages and housing in particular I can always recall about 12 months prior to the election, senior Nats like Joyce, English, Brownlee and Smith, reacting to housing that infuriating smirk, and a 'what housing crisis'
  15. Interesting isn't it, been lots of pretenders to the throne on both sides of the political spectrum, but when they get their turn, very few shine, I'm afraid Simon hasn't shone, although he comes across as a thoroughly decent guy. You got to hand it to Jacinda, she took her chance, under extreme pressure(6 weeks out and polls at 22%), and became the brightest star. And hasn't Winston behaved too, he knows which side his bread is buttered on, and you would have to say has a great deal of respect for her.

    Winx

That is some run against top class horses, once she gets going she seems to devour the ground and these are not slugs she is eating. Only word of caution, she is not a machine, and even the very best horses can only do so much Be nice if she got a win where she didn't have to do so much.
  17. Pretty good Barry, you have consistently picked long priced winners or place getters, can't dispute or discredit that
  18. Some strange things go on, on our tracks Divine Duke winning by 15 lengths, how does that happen, he is not 15 lengths better than the field he beat
  19. The stats and at WFA, it points to Start Wondering at 9.50/2.90.
  20. So it's just a reliable source not an impeccable one
  21. I think he stuffed the whole site in a roundabout sort of way
  22. Sure you weren't on the other channel, auto update does not work there
  23. It will come as a pleasant surprise to you righties that the owner of this site stood in a general election for the Nats, so there is a definite need for balance Work that out Might attract over some of the mob from the other site Maybe a bad idea, preferable that people post their own opinions
