  1. Why would you expect that would be anything but a continuation of the current fairy story There must have been someone in authority on site with the necessary expertise to make a call that the grade of sand was incorrect It's the same old story, once you tell one porky you have to keep on
  2. Doesn't make sense When u run something through a sieve it retains the coarser particles allowing the finer ones to pass through
  3. No competition, protected by The Racing Act 2003 A lot of this is probably going to go Even in the heady world of racing chat sites, we have seen what competition can do Look at the poor service you get from monopolies, like Vector and Chorus. You can't even contact those 2, must be through your service provider, and then, you never get to find out what the problem was Apologies for the diversion, we have a lot of power cuts
  4. Was it a mistake?
  5. Gee said on this thread, that it was like quicksand, which suggests a lot finer grade of sand was used, than specified, and would explain why the drains are getting blocked.

    Jacinda Ardern

  7. I recall Peter Blanchard came along, they introduced HCO3 testing, and he was gone as quickly as he came. Might be wrong?
  8. Didn't the partnership of Roy and Barry Purdon used to dominate harness racing in much the same way back in the 70's and 80's?
  9. I only put the pic up, because there was suggestion in some circles that it should have been declared a dead heat, when, if you zoom in, there is a clear margin to the inside horse. Even more of a margin than Weasel's pic, which was Rikki Tikki Tavi(inside) beating Memories Only at Ellerslie. I would imagine the judge would have far superior technology to our Photoshop cropping
  10. Reminds me of that saying How do you make a small fortune blahblahblah.................start with a large one
  11. Break My Stride, course stats showing 1 for 0 Yet has won at Te Rapa, so must to Te Aroha course stats
  12. Course stats for Te Aroha not Te Rapa
  13. Comics, what else
  14. Form changed just not the comments
  15. He still has a lot of overdue book fees from The Chief's library
  16. When I did the calcs on another thread if u put 50mm on around an entire 1800m track, 12-18m out, that is 540 cubic meters or 800 tonne So about 50 truckloads
  17. I've heard a quite different story but unless the source posts details I am not at liberty to divulge
  18. Reminds me of a little occurence I had in the ANZ Kumeu a few months ago Was on a 10 min plus wait because the guy in front of me was abusing the hell out of a female teller because she wanted to charge a small fee for doing a money transfer for the guy. She tried to explain if he did it via internet banking it would not cost him a cent, no way, didn't have internet banking, the guy persevered. In the end she gave in, when he said, listen I have 3 million deposited in this bank. I guess he didn't get that rich by being magnanimous. The manager saw what was happening and came out to relieve the queue
  19. They have clearly accepted your offer Meeting News Transfer of September Meetings in Northern Region Following on from the Pakuranga Hunt meeting moving to Te Aroha, the Auckland RC Premier Meeting on 9 September will now also be staged at that venue. This has necessitated the cancellation of the Te Aroha meeting on Sunday 2 September. NZTR will work with the Northern Programming Committee to add a race(s) where necessary during this period. In order that maintenance work can be carried out on the Te Rapa track two industry days later in September have also had venue changes: Wednesday September 19: This meeting will now be conducted by the Waipa RC at Te Awamutu Wednesday September 26: This meeting will now be conducted by the Matamata RC at Matamata Any minor distance changes required will be notified in the coming days.
  20. Messara will have simply looked at the TAB's net betting revenue of 350 mil per annum and worked backwards from that Plenty of money around, just being used poorly
  21. Agree, are they not all busy making money elsewhere Not just Rutherford to fall either, all those that run the club KFE and mob
  22. As an aside I see the Rowley Mile is on today at Hawkesbury A 150k stake Make that 163k, that would put it in the top dozen stakewise in NZ
  23. I think Strathayr offer a maintenance contract as part of the cost???? Being an Aus company, if they went with 3 Strathayr tracks in NZ, then Strathayr would have to set up a NZ company to produce and lay the tracks, such as Turfgrass Specialists, who have produced Readylawn in NZ for many years. Used to be at Ormiston Rd, now down at Mangatawhiri
  24. Michael Guerin seems to think they have resurfaced the Ellerslie track https://www.nzherald.co.nz/racing/news/article.cfm?c_id=53&objectid=12111074
