  1. I hope they keep that PDF form. So useful for getting a quick overview of the fields on the day, and includes course and distance stats at a glance
  2. One suggestion, are you observing TAB? The Futures fixed odds, once you get into say the Telegraph win, you can just keep scrolling down to get all the other FO races, without having to revert back to a menu BUT, with Results, you have to keep scrolling back up to the header to get the next race. Be useful if it was the same as for Futures, where you can just click on R1, then page down for all the results at that meeting, while still having the option of going back to the header for a specific race
  3. Can't get online with my little Samsung mobile Not too bad now I have adjusted the zoom(thanks Chief) on the desk top. I guess they have done it, to move to a format and presentation that is in keeping with overseas sites, so that punters have a format they are familiar with Big question then, why would punters around the world use the TAB over the other betting sites available, what is the TAB's competitive advantage?
  4. I can do it using the PDF form, but that doesn't have prices and is not interactive The old format, I could do all that.
  5. Yes, agree with this I just wanted to have a quick look at the fields to see if there was anything worth having a bet on, horses I had backed in the last few starts etc etc You can't, without endless scrolling and clicking
  6. You're in Centaur, draft picks tonight, you don't have to do anything at the moment. Check the progress on the Comps section
  7. Mk2, you have always done pretty well selecting winners in the comps you have entered to date. If we manage to stitch something together, why don't you just enter and let your selecting do the talking instead of all this rhetoric. If you think these guys are off the planet, then beat them
  8. I thought sports paid a percentage fee
  9. Don't forget though, as long as the Racing Act is not repealed, then all profits must be returned to Thoroughbred/Harness/Greyhound
  10. Have a look in the Thoroughbred section, there is a substantial thread there about it
  11. Someone posted a pic of FTM on here a while back, which he rightly took exception to, and it was eventually pulled. From what I recall it looked nothing like Phil Kennard(just Googled a pic of him). For your info FTM, BOAY is flying Since Dec 12 on what is your flagship section Thoroughbred(the one also where you have comps), posts have been BOAY 1778/RC 803 Quite a lot of new posters have signed up, who actually contribute by posting BOAY, has been consistently running at over 100 users online, at peak, up to 180 users. The invitation remains to any poster who wants to debate on non-micromanaged, equitable, mainly friendly, playing field to sign up at BOAY......no hard feelings
  12. Are trainers allowed to bet
  13. Spinning wheel ad infinitum on my old android phone
  14. Register interest either here or in the Comps section, but please note the TUESDAY deadline
  15. PeterJenkins Members 432 1,024 posts Report post Posted Saturday at 11:42 AM Yes, it's that time again....the annual (sort of) much-awaited draft version of Super Comp. Register your interest here. Number of teams will depend on entries (duh) If you wish to be a Captain then please annotate clearly in your entry post on this thread. Draft will be Tuesday night all going well. Everyone is welcome. Just register your wish to play by posting on this thread.
  16. 200 loss I think there is an unshakeable belief amongst most punters, that they can pick more winners
  17. Could I put my layman's interpretation on value, I'm sure you'll tell me if it is wrong. If you assume for every 100 horses you select, at best only a certain % will win, let's say 10 as an example. The better the value you get for those 10 winners, the more your return will be
  18. Will let this thread run till the end of January, then try(with the emphasis on try), and put together a workable format. If something can't be put together, as our friend seems to think, then we simply won't run it Happy for you to score/tabulate etc etc it Mardigras, thanks, but I would still manage and coordinate. The biggest thing in these comps is handling people, someone makes a smart arse comment, others take umbrage, and before you know it, things fall apart
  19. While some have said they would be disadvantaged by only going with NZ TAB FF prices, you could look at it as a challenge to take on those with a lot more sophistication in their modus operandi. A thorough beating may cause those to review the way they bet etc etc
  20. Let's keep the input going for a while to see what materialises Duration of the comp? Would it just be for races on a Sat? Would it be restricted to Aus/NZ? Would there be a limitation on the number of bets per week? A suggestion, that posters score their own entry each week and someone just tabulates the scores, as a way around any excessive admin Your credibility as a poster is on the line if you deliberately tried to cheat, and someone is going to pick you up on it.
  21. Plenty of time
  22. Here's the answer, bit of a laugh https://www.nzherald.co.nz/racing/news/article.cfm?c_id=53&objectid=12185006
  23. I see nothing has changed over there, and the reason why anyone with a modicum of sensibility and self respect left the site. Same old, okay for one particular person to abuse all and sundry, as soon as those people hit back, we get this supercilious, condescending post about playing the ball not the man, or whatever. Come over here fella's, you can debate till your hearts content, without fear of school teacher mico management
  24. Further to what people like Mardigras, Barry, Curious, VC, FTF and any others have been talking about, I am trying to put together a comp, probably for March/April Suggestions? Format? Duration? Prize? etc etc Not over the top, like with 20-30 bets/ week, as someone has to run the thing Unless of course unless somebody offers with better spreadsheet skills than me. That should not be too hard, as I have none, don't even have Excel I am upgrading and reskilling this year. My youngest son, having just completed the first year of a Computer Science degree, helps PS: Only posted on this section, as many don't regularly read the Comps section, but would be run in the Comps section. No mulligans either N1MUE
