I was always convinced re matters like this that the suits don't want warning given out as it affects turnover and hence income for the industry/clubs but then you see the decision friday night to late scratch those 2 horses AFTER the start I'm now sure they just don't have a clue how to enforce the rules or in fact even know the rules.
-
Wow didn't realize Morrison was that long.... ok Kennett on skill and lack of drives 20 + years then.
-
The kid actually got it going today was looking strong mid race...... then galloped, looks like it wants to go 100mph all the time. A mate messaged me asking how is Josh Kennett still a junior driver? A quick look in his 6th season, is there a limit how long this licence type can remain a junior?

Here's a tip, don't back Madam Sass, got warning last week after multiple breaks and I read that Leaf Stride at start 4 broke for the first time last friday and BAM gets a warning straight away, these suits are absolute morons. Madam Sass will win now for sure..... Gotta say the grass looks great there, wish they were racing on it today, not really a fan at betting at Oamaru all weather but maybe Escargo in R9 can make me change my mind.
-
You're right and they didn't go overly quick either, that winner did it easy too, Matty had a bad night with his 3 trotting drives
-
They looked to be sprinting pretty quick from the 700 and were all paddling the last 100... run of the race I reckon was Westeros
-
Took 12's here.... like the way this fella trots just want a different driver but at a long price and the new whip rules it might be an advantage, this time last year was trotting nicely.
-
Nice $7 place price for Mighty George but Cody was terrible galloping 3 times. Anyone else see race 10, not sure what the track record is but shit 2:53 for 2400 is super quick, obviously the winner went great but the work Yankee Party had to do in the last 600m proves how good this horse is, wonder if she'll go to CHCH cup week.

Bloody tight arse prats all hose syndicate memebers ....... I saw Brad was down to drive at Oamaru Sunday so I put 2 & 2 together and got 341343535..... Copped a bit of grief Dark Horse last week probably due to the betting price but geez they went quick for the last lap pretty much flat tack, darn hard to have a finishing sprint when there already going at top speed for a decent distance.
-
Some E/W early looks: Blink N Bones Mongolian Cavalry Cheezel Son of Patrick Majestic Hurricane Majestic Man, Matty driving now as I assume Brad will be on Cracker Hill in the Dominion-- may not happen but I want to see him tried again with a sit instead of leading every time. Win multi into Surfers Delight/Classie Bigade. Cody Banner and Mighty George at Wairio Tomorrow.

Think it's more down to Rachmaninov already racing at Addington this friday they give other horses priority at other meetings. I'm waiting for Rachmaniniv to get to the grass, 3 meeting so far and hasn't started; Grass = 29 Starts 3 wins/ 4 placings All Weather =67 Starts 0 wins/ 9 placings

P in the formline is for "Pissing People Off" whom back this nag. How on earth out of three trot races at Oamaru do Phil and Brad not have a horse running in any of them .... one race is a freebee junior race and they have two juniors in the stables but still no runner. All the maidens and lower grade horses might be getting ready for the central circuit.
-
Seems the only logical explanation but I can't see a reserve price for it or Jimmy C.
-
WTF..... That's dumber than tipping the White Ferns in a cricket match.
-
Yes true, but I think it would be a perfect horse for say someone like the Knights at Central Otago for November to January, plenty of racing opportunities in weaker company and decent $$
-
For sale on the auction site right now with the bid sitting at a thousand bucks with 4 hours to go, not a bad pacer can run well on the grass or grit would be a great little purchase for someone looking for some fun over the summer months.
-
They might get sore feet again and take the week off!!!!! more big fields and big divvies coming up on Sunday.
-
Last 4 races here from 16:30 onwards Sydney time took approx on the Tote only: $6500 $11000 $5500 $10000 From what I've seen previously from Addington on Thursday's Forbury $$$ would be higher and considering most of us here only bet on fixed odds for win/place, these numbers look very good. Hope they did well on course too and on the NZTAB.
-
Omen tip for this Clown tomorrow: Itz The Con Artist Or another tip: Piss off Forbury Are you Craig Kennett Forbury Go back to Channel X Forbury
-
Yeah just looked up the result. was 11/11 in the betting and ran a close 4th and Lord Cortez 7th..... you'll remember the winner too "Liberty Vogue".
-
I think the theory behind Forbury was for years to have low/mid range prize money on offer in a central track and just hope like hell horses from Canterbury would flood down and the Southerners would head north easy peasy lemon squeezie. The suits thought this would be sufficient to just sit and watch the money flow in, were the turnover numbers so low because no one was betting on a thursday or fields were of too low quality hence too hard to find a winner or a Canterbury raider would come down pay $1.40 on the tote and stuff all would be bet on the race. Some meetings this works where you'll get huge full fields and other times you'd end up with 6 races with barely 8 in each race, God only knows the reasons behind this but how often did we see Forbury on a thursday then Ascot Park on a sunday??? way too often A quick look at this thursday, 130 ish runners and I'll count Michael House as Southland as most of his horses are based there --- looks to me only 20 ish horses are coming from north of Ashburton, yes races are lacking quality but they can't expect to offer $7000 and get the shits when only slow horses turn up and turnover is low.

Not sure what capacity the NZ TAB app or website has but here the NSW TAB App has venue mode which you turn on in a pub/club/tab/racecourse and the money invested on your bets gets allocated to the venues's turnover... but more importantly you get free bonus bets and multiplier % top ups and various other incentives.

One of my first memories Richie of harness racing involves a Tinwald horseman.... I went to Rangiora for the first time mid 90's maybe, on track first horse/trainer I saw was Paul Young and Lord Cortez, I backed it and Ian Kieth's horse can't recall it's name..... pretty sure they didn't pay a divvie but on the way home through Belfast was Paul Young and horse on the side of the road as his car/float had broken down, followed him and now Jess ever since.
-
Think he's been nominated for Riccarton next week Happy!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to see the winner of that race for the older generation... some cash heading back to Tinwald

Grass looked in great shape. first horse over the crossing broke !! But crossing did look nice and flat. Great first tip, obviously better than its form, $5.50 here thank you Harewood.
