  1. Machine this horse is, when sold I don't recall as per normal seeing a price but you'd hope $200k minimum otherwise looks like Roy and Chris got a bargain.
  2. Not a genius call if you own one of the lower grade average trotters trying to make a buck in the same race as Oscar who is possible the best trotter in the country... but such is life.
  3. $1.85FF here in NSW, thanks but no thanks - Cuddly Trouble $2.80 place price way better option.
  4. All rough EW changes on a sticky wicket. R1 Tiger Moth R5 Rebel Kibbybones R6 Tiebreaker R7 Eastwood Isabella R10 Sioux Princess R11 Bush Man
  5. So you could back Wainui Creek at $1.60 or Georgia in the RWC in the wind and rain v an Australian C team with a 29 point start, most punters aren't too smart but I know which of those I'd be on.....

    fast 10

Commend them for trying something different and I know its holiday time but I'd be shocked if turnover would be any good- Auckland running that night too is a bit confusing, why not do this starting at 18:00 so at least for 2.5 hours the 2 meetings can run concurrently then people can still go out in CHCH for dinner or the pub.
  7. Hope the forecast is wrong as if the rain continues for 5 days surely the meeting is in jeopardy again.
  8. Little pocket rocket mare Clasina Maria has been waiting for a grass race for a month and connections will be praying Mark keeps his trio for another day. Noms extended until tomorrow though so a few others might pop up.
  9. Great to see Jess Young win her first race as a married Woman on a horse with plenty of potential and geez they backed Ivan Schwamm's horse down to 5-1, galloped after 300m , recovered then sat parked the remainder of the race and still won, didn't run any time but a wins a win.
  10. Was very keen on Rum in the Sun too, sure can trot some fast times but looking deeper into form most fresh up form is from mobile starts and over sprint distances, add to that he's not so flash from a stand I'd expect a quiet run at the back in a big field as surely can't be fit enough after 3 months off.
  11. Exactly, first run for 6 weeks over 2700m and the horse blew out... shock horror, yes you might have got great odds but there was a reason why.
  12. Huge shame UMC is scratched tomorrow but still money to be made today. R2 Sports Page R7 Swift Robyn R9 Annie Fitz
  13. Odds were crazy, got 14's for the place in NSW, was always going to be close to the speed and over the short distance ... not a world beater but has ability. Didn't realize the syndicate had trotters with the Hope's as well, keen to see how Matty will drive Monty on sunday, should be run at a fast pace but some serious trotters in that race.
  14. R1 Zulu Courage - interesting driver booking R4 Miss Moppet R7 Easy pickings R8 Ideal Rule R9 Tom Martin
  15. Really hope UMC steps and leads and be interesting to see if she hands up to Nathan or the Purdon 3. Faster trot is a great field too, Oscar Bonavena off the front should win but small field will assist the 3 off 30m.
  16. Congrats to Globe and the other syndicate owners, 7 week until cup day I assuming Majestic Man will resume racing soon , going to need to be fully fit to beat Sundees Sun and Co.
  17. Stewards have completed an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding KANSAS CITY JIM (R McIlwrick) competing in and completing this race after appearing to be noticeably awkward in its action throughout the preliminary and event itself. Resulting from this inquiry Stewards deemed that the gait of KANSAS CITY JIM was so obviously uncomfortable that it should have been of sufficient concern to Mr McIlwrick to warrant retiring that runner from the race. Accordingly Mr McIlwrick has been reprimanded for failing to demonstrate the standard required of a competent Horseman. So reading this report out today the stewards who watch the prelim either didn't notice the action of the horse/ weren't even watching/ noticed the action was sus but couldn't be arsed doing anything about it or were having their 4th beer and know all they have to do is blame the driver. Yes Rory is at fault but basically I read this as the stewards don't have any responsibility to pick up if a horse is lame or not fit to race its solely the driver and trainers responsibility. Hmmmmm
  18. Super quick time run in this race and the trot, maybe it's just me but they never seem to be going that quick at Winton but the times always come back fast... in that trot I thought they were so tired going over the finish line and even Pickett's Ridge was but yet the last quarter was still under 30 seconds.
  19. Globe, any inside information on Rugged Peak r1 ? Looks to be short priced fav, think Larch can place. R5 Wolf West R7 Franco Santino can beat UMC R8 Robbie Royale to upset
  20. Just watched the replay, very impressive and I know didn't beat anything but the time was super quick. Obviously we don't know the sale price, but if this horse is sound and runs for 4 plus years the new owners are going to make plenty of $$$
  21. I see as per stipes McLellan was out injured. Nothing in the report re CG racing forward which is totally opposite of his normal racing pattern, i can maybe understand a one off showing a little gate speed but when he leads allowing the better backed stable mate a sweet trip in the trail all the way 1000000% a question needs to be asked of Craig Ferguson. Also a little surprised no question re Alexy's form reversal, but i guess that race was run to suit and he's done that a few times off a fast pace. Poor poor form in my opinion from a Mr V Munro and his 3 understudies. On a positive note great to see 2 old time trainers with cast off horses in Wayne Low and Dennis O'Connell getting winners,
  22. R6 Both Brendan McLellan's horses went forward from the mobile, one normally does but the other Carlo Gambino doesn't, was there an announcement of a change in tactics? Interestingly he didn't drive any of his 6 horses today and hes not suspended.
  23. Thanks for that, is this just a NZ tab thing? Doesn't happen in NSW for sure. If the NZ tab do this why not in their race results show these dividends so people can see/learn? I've been punting for nearly 25 years and didn't know this rule. King Cassidy trotted so rough the whole race but got the bacon, paid $5.10 for the place on the tote and $2.30 fixed.
  24. Sheesh did go terrible... anytime you get beaten by Mach O'Melley you know there's something wrong. Just looking at r5, 7 runners so only 2 place divs and FOUR horses are paying $1.80 or less for a place on fixed odds WTF...
  25. Thank you FU, boxed trifecta those 3 with the unplaced #7 , small % but still a nice start to the evening.
