Cobblers.......are you the love child of Big Dave and Helen Clark?........It'll be brilliant looking at the names that buy into this super colt......will it be the same lot as Espionage you think?.....course it will, why....cos they all know what their looking for now,.........
-
Yep and as they say,...''there's one born every minute''
-
Tell that to the hundreds over the years that bought into his stallion syndicates, unless you were trying to minimise your tax and didn't give a toss you'd be pretty pissed at the ROI wouldn't you? As a sideline, what's the ROI for Albert Bosma's lot compared to Big Dave ? now that would be interesting.
-
Now you're just making things up, shame on you.......what's wrong with Adelaide, Perth, Sydney summer, Sydney Easter, MEL Classic, Inglisdigital, and Karaka when you can pick up BOBS/VOBIS/QTIS for a song?......how's that?
-
Whats his ROI with his colt, that's my point, I don't mind his fillies at all, but Ellis has a horrible record with his colts, and why he keeps doing it leaves you pondering.......doesn't it?s........does he chose the wrong type of colt? NZ black type has lost it's lustre, it's cache, it's flown the coup years ago.......the pages in the catalogue make you cry to what we saw during those great decades, the poor domestic racing is now showing, next years sales will be even weaker. Why would you stand a new stallion in NZ? Iffraaj, Showcasing, stopped shuttling when they realised the repatriation of funds back to UK/IRE just wasn't worth it.......there will be other casualties, sadly, we don't want to see that, but it's a foregone conclusion, the Kiwi trainers living in hope at Karaka trying to compete with the cashed up ex pats, Aussies and Asians means NZ domestic racing can't keep going, the first to go will be 2yo racing, how many suits from Petone will be seen at Karaka?.......there's always book two......now you just gotta feel for the poor bloody vendors at that sale.....
-
Maybe.........thankfully not many Savabeels pop up here or he'd be in boots and all and the strike rate would go south........lets see how his colt buys go next year, thank god for Vanbrugh!
-
Ellis seems obsessed with Savabeel, his eyes gloss over and he goes into a trance, have Waikato hypnotised this bloke? As for Forsman, if he builds the VIC stable from Karaka it makes no sense, our bonus schemes are magical, buy BOBS/VOBIS and there are a few QTIS eligible horses in this sale and at these prices its a no-brainer for Oz trainers/Syndicators.....
-
It's a real battle, unlike past years, some lovely horses being passed in by pissed off vendors. Sadly they aren't realists, the market is telling them what people are prepared to pay. The Aussies have scored some bargains, the Asian buyers are quiet, Singapore I can understand as it's a basket case in the NZ vein, maybe it might pick up later, but somehow I think we are watching the decline in all it's glory. Ellis has fallen into the Savabeel colts stupor again, his cheaper buys over the years have saved his arse, the Savabeel fillies are worth every cent, once Savabeel goes to the paddock in the sky Karaka will be prime real estate for developers..... Fingers crossed this pass in rate steadies, otherwise this sale will beak all records, for the wrong reasons.....
-
Ah, but that's the way to keep stakes high, flog your land off to developers.......it's going to be a Happy Valley.....in more ways than one.....for some....
-
Ahh, c'mon Doomed, don't knock my Valley. love the place, just the place to be......even when they had the old surface pre strathayr.
-
The kickback is atrocious .........who the hell would bet on this track?.......better to buy scr lotto....
-
No HR, these blokes are just that, well past their use by date, all lackies of Gerry and the Chinese overlord AQUIS.......they don'y have an original bone in their bodies, can't wait to see who wins the second casino licence here, I wonder who that might be?........
-
That's about the only way to describe todays race day at Gold Coast Turf Club's shiny new toy AKA the polytrack. Fuckwitsm is not exclusive to NZ, OH no, it's alive and well here in QLD too. One race deleted, no each way betting in most of the card due to scr or insufficient acceptors. I don't blame Steve Andrews, he's been crook, but Lines and his lackies are hopeless and shouldn't be anywhere near running a race club. This will only get worse, some local trainers will experiment to see which of their horses handle the crap track, they have to I suppose, they are now held prisoners, much the same as Riccarton and Awapuni trainers are.......pale stale males and wannabe stove pipe suit wearing upstarts from dotcoms, all about to fuck a wonderful training centre and community.... The upheaval from the works oncourse will now reach a crescendo and owners will cringe as their lovely horse flesh has to be dragged up to a goat track at Beaudesert to gallop....no grass tracks here thanks very much. So here's to the brave souls that venture to todays dirge/novelty/wake call it what you will, but it is an indication of what's to come, a year at least before the grass comes back if it does, so we shall watch with interest to see if the Sunshine Coast trainers with experience and horses that handle kickback and shifting surfaces prop up this folly with future noms and acceptances. Just saying... Joe.

A simple solution to this,.....if you've got a headache, you get rid of it......... I don't know how you get rid of your headache , but rid it you have to do....for your very existence. Don't let apathy stand in the way, just do it.
-
Correcto Mundo, ever seen a casino charge admission?.......if you've been to the strip on Vegas, most casinos there also offer cheap, great meals and burgers, if you pay for you meal with a chip it's even cheaper, that's how to do it......but you need a gambling culture to do that, just like King James did all those centuries ago when he started horse racing on the Newmarket heath.......when you look back at the person who put the shot boasting about opening a TAB account after the lunatics appointed her, that said everything........
-
Whatever they are they are saviours of NZ racing, they keep losing like that the TAB just might not need to go to the next NAT Gov asking for a handout......gee, how good would that be? now, if they licence corp bookmakers and on-course bookies, something wonderful just might happen.
-
Super run by your bloke mate, held up at a crucial time and a super ride by the Saffer, if your fella isn't a Cox Plate horse I'll eat my sombrero, verdad! te promito! Hope he eats up and they find a paddock, bring on the winter in QLD or the spring......the prize money for 2nd isn't to be laughed at, spend wisely.
-
Don't you mean Windsor Park?
-
Ah, but they will save heaps on retrenchments wont they?.........I cant see all those Welly and Hutt Valley mortgage holders putting their hands up to troop north, moving south to Chch was never going to work as they would have needed iron shutters on the windows to deter stone throwing, and the odd Molotov cocktail.....
-
Well firstly you'll have to write accountability into your constitution SA, and the penalties for lack of. Therein lays the problem, across the board in NZ there is SFA accountability, Health, Retail, Racing.....it never ends, once that's addressed then there might be progress. Bayliss, Purcell and Saundry should have been held to account, and the clowns/fools that appointed them, did they break any laws?...probably not, but in regards to TAB NZ, a forensic investigation to that fiasco/charade should have instigated for sure......you can't gaol people for stupidity, otherwise the 3 named above would be doing life, no parole!
-
Good luck tomorrow NM, may the racing Gods smile upon you and keep your mate Morrie safe, and hopefully a Wild Night ensues.....we are rooting for you from the Goldie!

Word is that property values in Cambridge have just taken a dive.......

Gold Coast Recovery: Great Stakes on Offer AUD$10M+
Joe Bloggs replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
I'd never sell at Karaka, funny enough there are quite a few big breeders that don't either, MEL Premier is the recipient of that, and SYD Easter of course for the real blue bloods, I think Karaka will be strong this year, the problem is........how many of those lovely horses will stay in NZ?......the foal crop is abysmal size wise, who would want to breed for whats left of domestic racing?..........shame shame shame........NZ is the new Italy, whoda thunk it. -

Yep, she's been on to it for a while, loves going to the sports, even wears a hat for Gods sake, however the shit hits the fan here tomorrow, that's when you have to float your horse an hour away for a grass gallop, the wankers are all heading home half pissed, or worse, some cashed up like crazy but all with dreams of coming back next year to win the big bucks at Gerry's ''Spin That Wheel''.......gotta love the coast, Bets, Babes and Booze, ......#livingthedream -
Gold Coast Recovery: Great Stakes on Offer AUD$10M+

There's not much to cheer about except the weather, Macdonalds ride in the 2nd was woeful, I wonder if Teflon will give him a serve?......the public areas are a ghost town, I'll collect Mrs Bloggs shortly and head off for a surf at Main Beach, the real racing will be on Sat at Doomben, these bullshit Vella/Harvey wankfests are boring, bring on the Autumn/winter and black type racing.
