Having been licensed in VIC, NSW, QLD and NZ, I too have never ever seen this or experienced it, I've asked a few trainers here re this and they too agree, it's a fucking disgrace to put it mildly. Back in the day [60'/ 70's] the starter/vet used to have farrier gear around at the start, no horses were re-shod/plated behind the gates, if a horse lost a plate going around to the gates the other was just pulled off, progress is a beautiful thing, in this case it's plain fucking ugly, np progress here, just stupid and arrogance from a panel of incompetents.

Read my first post, I'm of the opinion that Mose tried to shoulder the horse on his outside to create a run for his mare, in doing so his horse momentarily lost it's footing, I've seen this happen hundreds of times, if, and some on here think it's more than if, the horse raced with one plate behind, that would definitely be a contributing factor. As ordinary jockey that I was, I do know what happens if you gallop a horse with one shoe/plate on.......clear enough for you?

I hope Brian and his committee get an apology from RIB, and some decent financial recompense, FFS this shit has to stop, racing in NZ has slipped into an abyss.
