  1. I have to say you guys are Wrong in criticising Mark's Drive. It was near PERFECT, coming from last and an absolute Crap barrier , circling the field, 27.4 backstraight quarter (forced by Triple Eight going for it too early) you should criticise that drive. And smart enough to take a sit on Nat for a breather around the last bend. Rallied strongly in the home straight to just miss victory. Fantastic Effort and Fantastic drive . 10/10 from me. (as a former race driver)
  2. Best of Luck GLOBE !!!!!! you should be in final now already on points. Good luck with the barrier in final and enjoy the once in a lifetime thrill. ? or in GAMMALITE"S case twice in a lifetime.
  3. Well the Purdons are dominating as expected, Barry joining in the Allstars party. The Aussies nowhere to be found. In the Challenge, for Bit Of a Yarn Glory , the first round leader TROTSFAN has taken round 2 honours as well !!! A true Trotsfan !!!! And he has cracked the ton with his 8 selections to date. Well done !! points Tally round 1 + round 2 = New Total TROTSFAN 48 + 56 104 , RANGATIRA 44 + 49 93 , OLDWHITEMAN 40 + 53 93 , WOLF 39 + 51 90 NOWORNEVER 43 + 46 89 , HAPPY SUNRISE 30 + 49 79 , GAMMALITE 42 + 37 79 , RUSTY 39 + 38 77 GLOBE DERBY 29 + 41 70 , HUNTERTHEPUNTER 27 + 36 63 , and bringing up the rearguard FLAGSHIP UBERALLES 29 + 32 61 Flagship, you were subbed Winterfell in the trot [8 points] as he was Fav (over here QLD anyway) and McLovin was scratched that you selected.

  4. Gidday to you Bloke from Qld . What a great horse Young Quinn was!!. Just before my time, but would have to be in the Top 5 kiwi reps ever.! Not just that Miracle Mile and Interdominion , but all those American wins as well. And so nice just like Cardigan Bay , he came home to NZ to retire. [probably as 2nd best ever to Cardy at that stage] Another kiwi did exactly as Young Quinn in the 1980 Miracle Mile . LOCARNO with Robin Butt did the IMpossiBLE from barrier 6, having to go back to last then running down PALEFACE ADIOS, PURE STEEL, KOALA KING, FROSTY IMP and LORD MODULE. What a line-up !!!!!
  5. No worries Rusty, because we want everyone to be a chance of being 'Bit Of A Yarn' Interdominion Champion we dished out the first round points (for a couple of regulars who missed away in Round 1) on their round 2 selections . With yourself, that tallied to 39 points. to put you back in the race. Good Luck tonight. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
  6. Yes , have seen and driven a fair few over the years. Lazarus is in his own postcode with ability and racing style with times to boot. 1.48 and a bit in the states . 1.52.4 as a 2 year old with a 25.1 quarter. Those easy NZ cup wins !! unbelievable.!!Best I've seen. With the trotters thought Habibi Inta trotting 4mins 2sec for the Dominion H'Cap the other day was not bad. Scotch Notch and Sir Castleton would have to be right on their game to keep up. lol. Gammalite won 2 Interdominions in Auckland 83. (Scotch Notch won the trot. And GlobeDerby park (named after you!!!) in 1984 when your little mate Sir Castleton flew the kiwi flag with a brilliant win in the trot at Adelaide beating Scotch Notch. Well done to all.
  7. The great Lord Module, yes in my teen years I was ripping home from highschool on my bicycle and hit a car trying to get home on a Tuesday to watch this race of his, the NZ CUP while I was in Auckland. Lord Module Reared up and lost 50m but with help from Sunseeker the stablemate was able to recover and win.
  8. Agreed they are all champions of their day and were magnificent to watch in action, but unfortunately only One of these you mentioned would Win or even be Competitive Today. That being LAZARUS , who would be at the winning post while the others (including Poor old Gammalite) would be back up the straight somewhere, wondering what way he went, or how he got 100m +, in front of them.
  9. Haha you have funny moniker OLDWHITEMAN , up against some great pacers, Gammalite, Globe Derby and Happy Sunrise. lol. not sure who 'Flagship Uberalles' is with his moniker, but sounds like a horse name. We are going to have a 'Bit Of A Yarn' Interdominion Champion to match the bloodstock. TROTSFAN leads at the moment after round 1. Because you haven't selected any first round winners you can have round 1 points for these selections as well , as I did for Globe Derby with his selections last night after he missing round 1. so you can join the field and join in the fun at 40 points. NEW RULE: any more latecomers today , who missed round 1, will NOT get Round 1 points from any of the Round one winners. that makes it fair for those who played round 1. and does not effect GlobeDerby12 or OldWhiteMan selections . cheers.
  10. Maybe you saw some great Miracle Miles at Harold Park then???. Robin Dundee for NZ or Halwes for Tassie.? Halwes had scratched from the Auckland Interdominion in 1968 just prior to that Miracle Mile win, with a bit of 'bookmaker ' involvement , giving away a near certain victory with the times he was running in the Heats, and the fact First Lee then won that title and was 20yards behind Halwes at the end of a record time in the Miracle mile 1968.
  11. Did the Lordship racehorses never make it in the sire line ? Lord module was solid looking horse. No foals? Your 2 trotters are going great Guns !! loved the dominion H'cap 3rd by Monty. very dour in a very fast race. hope they continue well for you. I am in QLD and a Colt thirty One fan, 'Chester' actually won the Victoria Derby beating 2 of Marks and 2 of Emma Stewarts at big odds. not many have been able to that, if any, in the one age group race. Interdominion top level though and combined, Purdons have 9 runners. If anyone can overcome that , then that will be an Interdominion and christmas miracle. hahahah
  12. Hi Globe Derby, you sure like to come off a HANDICAP !! AS a racehorse nearly 100 years ago, you once placed 2nd off 230yards behind. (not a bad effort!!!!!) and often started off 100 yard plus handicaps. At the Interdominions you are at the right thread having sired the Very First Interdominion winner. Evicus in 1936. also 2 son's that won the Interdominion and became great sires like yourself Logan Derby and Springfield Globe. you are a true Legend of the sport. For this Interdominion challenge, and just a bit of fun and Not a handicap am allocating you the FIRST night points of your 4 runners as well so you can start round 2 up with the field and with 29 points. Good Luck !!!!!
  13. G'day NZ harness fans and Congratulations on the outright mauling you gave the Aussies on Night 1. !!!!!! and also for beating the POMS in first cricket test. !! good payback for unlucky World Cup. news Flash for some of you. Last night HAIL CHRISTIAN got past CASH N FLOW in a Group3 FFA Menangle in 1.50 neat. maybe they should of had Interdominion crack. Too fast for the Aussies. Points Update from round 1 adjustments with points after field size , etc taken into consideration . TROTSFAN 48, RANGATIRA 44, NOWORNEVER 43, GAMMALITE 42, WOLF 39, HAPPY SUNRISE 30, FLAGSHIP UBERALLES 29, and HUNTERTHEPUNTER on 27. For round 2 away we go again, and for GAMMALITE Chase Auckland, Kennys Dream, San Carlo and Marcoola.
  14. After watching Race 4 Oamaru Saturday you have to say Ban that rubbish, or just lose more punters/ harness supporters.
  15. Gidday Mr Galah, was just watching replays Oamaru Saturday while I join this Trot Chat for Interdominion from Qld. Watching Race 4 replay Oamaru , well have a look and it speaks for itself. hahahaha The commentator thought it must of been a false start even. An attendant actually grabbed one of the runners stopping it from moving off as well. NZ punters taken for a ride. [Well Not taken literally, actually on the 3 runners that never started] ABSOLUTE joke. You couldn't possibly back/bet standing starts as a Punter if you are serious about winning something lol. Hobby punters wouldn't even enjoy that.
  16. Gee flagship, The outside rail was packed with people all the way up the straight, when I won there 83' Interdominion. (GAMMALITE that is). Watching on Fri at the 2200m starting point was a heap of weeds growing up through the fencing, a carpark at the 100m mark and 3 people as you got towards the post. Was nice weather wasn't it ??? What a sad state of affairs.
  17. "RACING THIS TIME...." as Reg Clapp would say back in my teen days with his deep voice that I still here in my sleep. Literally and Probably because dad had radio blaring in the next room as I was in bed getting to sleep as a kid. [40 years at The Park for the late Reg Clapp ] Well that was disappointing with NO GAMMALITE wannabes amongst the Aussies. Aus firing blanks in that round. Well done kiwi's with some fast times. 'Bit of a Yarn' Interdominion Points challenge as I have it after round 1. (subject to slight changes but very close with my quick maths) TROTSFAN 45 points very consistant with 3 seconds and a fourth through round 1. now leads clearly. RANGATIRI 41 points , NOWORNEVER 40 points, GAMMALITE 39 points, WOLF 36 points, HUNTERTHEPUNTER 28 points, HAPPY SUNRISE 27 points, FLAGSHIP 27 points. Good luck for round 2 to improve your positions !!!?.

  18. Hahah??. O No matter how you get your money it's no good here lol. Maybe 'The Galah' should have a go as sounds a bit Aussie, and I need all the Help I can get.
  19. Ahhh the beauty of it. No money needed and you can improve your tipping status from Poor to Champion in just 2 weeks. ?
  20. Nice selection with solid 3rd at $3.40 place. would be great if you have a go at the Interdominion QUADDIE challenge I posted, as with your moniker, sure must know your stuff and big chance of victory!.
  21. Hey Chief, I've Backed you into favouritism in the Quaddie Challenge I posted. Have a crack or I'll lose a stack.
  22. Only saving Grace is they (Andy and Kate Gath) did win the last Interdominion Trot 2018 with another Ex-pat in Tornado Valley. So at least they had some success along the way.
  23. Hey If any of you regulars want to have a challenge while I'm here annoying you for Interdominion. Flagship, Ranga, Happy, ?? say 6 or so good sport blokes. Challenge 1. Who can pick the quaddie each night [ you get the points that your selection scores in the Heats] And points from First to last in the finals as well. I will tally after each round and post for everyone. and we end up with a 'Bit of a Yarn' Interdominion CHAMPION !! I'll go in with Habibi Inta, Ultimate Sniper, Winterfell and Bling It On for round 1.
  24. Marburg is straight in land from Brisbane about 70km's, go past Ipswich.
  25. Yes they A/S do a good job. Tiger Tara tried to outstay them NZ cup last year and came up 1/2 head short to The Fixer amongst a "pack' of Allstars. John Dunn nearly popped them this year's Cup but not quite,. Arden Rooney did surprise them 2015 Cup, but Mark's horse gave it 50m start with bad getaway so bit unlucky. Tiger Tara got revenge in Interdominion last time with a thunderous display. wonder why he's not there now ?? and Luke McCarthy has old kiwi mate Cash N Flow flying lately , 3 x 1.50 miles past 2 months so very surprised he is not there to help out 'Bling It On' a little. Tim Williams won races at Auckland with it as well.?
