Being positive as you claim TAB to be, think TAB man was often taking the piss, but on some things i aint but I'm sure the Auckland that was 25 or 30 years ago is a lot different to the Auckland of today, those same trends happening there are slowly drifting through the rest of NZ. -
Does Mr Steele own horses in NZ and if so in particular are they trained in the Auckland region.

I think Mccook if that's his correct name must be fortunate to stay in his job, he's mostly greyhound, must be those cameos in out the gate that did the deal, there ain't room for all of them, Entain certainly ramped up the numbers back in the media, maybe they are seeing things different now, you also wonder about the logic of buying back the radio frequencies, we were all hoping of getting back more radio racing but it's still streaming on the app, and the TAB website, thats it so where's the logic ?

You often wonder about some posters, after a while not hearing you wonder what become of them, just like talk back callers, some just lose interest and some die, not easy to post then, we do miss old TAB man, i couldnt convince him that Auckland is the biggest arsehole place, but I can assure you if I die I will no longer post, lol. But there could also be other interest that tickle me fancy lol if I disappear. -
Hawera and Taupo numbers wernt too bad, you seriously wonder if many just don't like going to A Park, traffic must be a pain getting there.

59 noms for Auckland, a hundred more for Oamaru......I still maintain all races with 6 starters or less should be penalty free and no ratings reduction, no one can really manipulate things but in such small fields some are winning in poor fields that they woudnt win if there was more depth, but there is something wrong with the present handicapping issues, when anything rating 55 or something has single finger numbers mostly.

Lot ov wokeness these days, I remember when Senz started in NZ, a guy who signed up to work for them Sam Casey wrote a column about women's Rugby, saying it needed a hand up rather than a helping out, or something similar, anyway his contract was cancelled, he is actually employed by sports nation now but wokeness is bad, no commentator can call it as they see it or else, Aussie is worse than us.

You never hear any of the greyhounds commentators talk about the impending ban, I think they must be muzzled, just like they no longer talk about place prices pre race, they are human robots, playing the tune Entain want them to play.

One or two races at Taupo did well on the win tote, 13000 plus in the main race a couple just under 10, much better than most of Cambridge and Auckland, lots of holidayers in Taupo from what I believe, would be nice to know what the crowd was sometimes the holidayers on course boost the tote figures, they not regular punters.

The question regarding commingling, some pools from gallops from Oz are much bigger than our local product, which suggest commingling still happens or is it just Entain Australia combined with Entain NZ As for the World pool, 1 million dollar win pools at Ellerslie, if that's the rest or some of the rest of the world 1 mill don't seem a massive amount to me.

Irrespective if Taupo today has been a success or not, the fields were ok,I think by locality it will more than likely do better than Ruakaka on Easter Monday, I just don't think northerners have the same connection with harness racing as in the South, turnovers suggest that.

Do we still have commingling....some of those tote win pools yesterday at Ellerslie topped a million and the others were better than normal too, those figures can't just be for bets placed in NZ alone or are they?

Riverton Jan 1 2025, 9 races.........Jan 1 2026, 8 races....makes a difference. Total figures and average per race figures, need to be factored in, those total figures will be for everything.

Be nice if they would give detailed figures for all meetings, fixed/tote and this type breakdown for on course, 2 meetings be interesting, Riverton , Jan 1.......Omakau, Jan 2.

Interesting HRNZ have just released the northern top pacers/trotters autumn programme, not hard to see how easy to slot in the Auckland Cup, only way they will attract all the toppys together, would just run a FFA on Dec 31, let Omakau build there day.

Still good entertainment, but these days I can take it or leave......but yes many punt through Xmas and new year, it's just what many do then back to normal life.

Plenty of money to see Ed Sheeran Lorde and the likes.Jimmy Carr sold well, he ain't doing anything for nothing and that's just after Xmas and all that nonsense, I shouldn't talk though the TAB got my 150 bucks for my Xmas splashout but it took them a lot longer this time than normal lol.

Jan 1, was watching trackside(Riverton) and when Ellerslie was on it looked like a industry day meeting, maybe this week might be different......the Auckland Cup trotting on Dec 31 is a non event now, best time is about march 20, not too long before the slots races, through January and into early March our best pacers often go to aussie, Auckland stuffed things up, but I see harness officials are hoping to work closer in regards to scheduling feature races, if they can get that right it's a win win for both countries. Miracle mile in Oz is week 2 in march, after that it's a bit quite across the ditch.
