  1. Forecast 13 degrees on tuesday.
  2. Simple fact is the gallop crowd cant handle their piss, useless amatuers lol Probably the under 18s who aren't allowed in can lol
  3. But there have been consultants and study's done heaps of times over the years, and many times what's changed,f all.change is probably a good thing if it's for the better,I still believe the real changes will come when the clubs decide change is neccessary as in if the people, volunteers stop bothering as it seems harder and harder to find younger ones who want to carry on the courses, then they decide,Waikouiti, Winton,Wyndham,Omakau,Hokitika, course like that are gone but for Timaru,Oamaru,Gore and Riverton,I still believe they will be there,if Southland only wanted one track Ascot Park is not the one,Gore with it's slightly more central locality and Riverton with it's big roomy track are ahead of Ascot Park,as for Oamaru Timaru and Ashburton mostly because of the traditional drier climates winter racing is perfect, having said that if they get rid of a lot if not all those tracks and say move to say just Riccarton and maybe Wingatui then its lights out,its happening to harness south of Cambridge, another way of looking at things is do you want people in charge of making racing a good long term product or some lot wanting to destroy it,maybe that's where the problem lies, bad administrators,do you rid of the tracks or do you get rid of the administrators, same as in our government's,who decides, them or us?
  4. Alexy now up to 292 starts, inching closer to the triple ton.
  5. I dont believe tracks will close,if you want centralization you have Timaru as main winter track,Riccarton grass for a lot of main meetings,I think people are getting worked up over nought.
  6. Is the spitfire turning up on cup day?
  7. More likely the TAB could break themselves lol
  8. $ 84 for the place that one.
  9. Pete's Dash 3rd,8 40 for the place,I knew he had it in him to pay a divvy someday
  10. If the under 18s don't bet on course then they may bet at home and never come back lol
  11. seemed Wingatui crowd was lots of students, probably didnt even bet, just drink piss, think they had a band in tent as well.
  12. Problem with harness is the races are so predictable in some cases but giving away money ain't profitable.
  13. They do have designated areas,at home😆 In some ways this highlights where main racedays are going, just a pissup for most who dont care about racing but probably forcing a lot of older folk to not turn up I would find being in a crowd with a bunch of party goers very off putting.
  14. $38000 first four in Melbourne Cup,$38 first four Trotting Cup,what are the odds?
  15. Gee if you go back through history,Southland has been right up there with the best, times change.
  16. Just 4 southerners and I from Dunedin, times have changed.
  17. 38000 first four I got that one wrong.
  18. i will wipe that comment.
  19. The rating system is not perfect but in the case of a horse from Southland if it loses form it can race at home instead of being chased out by the handicapper.
  20. In some ways that shows just where harness racing is at the moment
  21. Am I correct that Tango Tara has won 5 races,so by winning just a few races but getting up in the ratings is what gets him in?
  22. It all looks easier now,$38000 trifecta, everyone must have got that aye lol, every race, everyday test us to the limit, but that's what makes racing what it is,yes it has some downtimes like the horse today but it's still a great sport, always has been, always will be.
  23. Do you really believe that?

  25. It's all a unknown quantity the whole race really, some have only had a few starts, few have done the distance,no one really knows until 5 15 today.
