Should use starting stalls,just need to be careful they don't rip the wheels off on the way out,would be entertaining no doubt.

Just watched it,looked like Copy That wasn't fully on the job but still wasn't a even start.

Just like commentators and the guy doing the after race interviews sometimes it's not good,they are only human but it would a good deed though if the Tab refunded all the punters after every race that a horse had a bad start or got a bad run lol

I haven't seen the start of the race but have seen a lot of standing starts that are not that flash,so will someone do any better than this Lamb guy remains to be seen,I'm not into personal criticism of someone as such but maybe someone newer with a fresher appetite for the job is worth a go,how manyyears has lamb been the starter?

Been reading the odd old story about John Phillip's,used to train up to 15 or so horses but recently just the odd one or two nowadays,so why listed as 26 seems a bit unprofessional of website,would be good to know if it's still trained out of southland or somewhere else.

The real southern horses from Southland had a good day and in someways validates the strength of southern racing as a rule,I think they are underrated,and always pay good divs at Riccarton.

Personally I think harness racing is getting a bit mundane to be honest,the better gallops from oz are a top product,the trots at present just repeat after repeat but it is what it is.

Maybe it would be better to do an interview after all the paperwork after the race is over,you do catch them in the heat of the moment and sometimes the interview is a bit gibberish,maybe Cookson will learn and do better next time,Greg O Connor was not too bad at that

John Phillips mIght be back at Winton training those 25 others it says in love racing.........in all seriousness though it states its trained in Winton but has done all its racing in Canterbury since lockdown,maybe as it has won some story might crop up sometime soon.

Maybe it was pre arranged.

They would be a lot slower now.

That wasn't a good interview after the cup,however might just be out of his depth.

As a race,very average.

I'm not watching but as educated guess that doesn't sound like good interviewing to me.

Having said that the ideas being floated around up north are pretty positive and ambitious,its best when the clubs do it off their own bat.

Otago and Southland,what do you think they will get?Cant see a big building boom in Wyndham looming.

Does it make sense Riccarton building another stand that mostly is unemployed,a lot of racing now is for the tv product,the watch from homes.

Gee I'm gunna get a bit technical here,it would be nice if someone other than All Stars win but I think Spankem is well drawn for the type of race he goes best,sitting back and running on strong,if Self Assured don't waste ground he will probably burn them all off,Copy That at one,sometimes the one draw can be a nuisance,getting shuffled back as others goes forward,Classie Brigade is the opposite of Copy That with the poorest draw being used up more,as for the others they do have a chance as they are in the race but realistically none will win unless something untoward happens and in racing anything can happen,I can't see a 38000 first four but if anything untoward happened and the top four don't get there the sky's the limit,hard to know if anyone would even be braver enough to bet against a favs top four.
