  1. It's named on TAB website, Graeme Edwards memorial yet on HRNZ its Graeme Edwars, who is it the race is dedicated too, if by chance it's in memory of a popular Cricket player then that would be Graham Edwards, which one is it ?
  2. Westport fields are better than Xmas, main race don't have to compete with same rating 51 and faster as was the case in December. One simply wonders if some just don't like going to Auckland, one can understand that, better stakes for non winners but still more at Cambridge
  3. May have been talking about car racing track.
  4. Wonder how a commentator would get on if Harry Cox was still alive and driving. With a sense of humour like mine I think even if might struggle
  5. Canterbury does fine in the context of things, Riccarton want everything at Riccarton, do you ?
  6. Ascot Park on Saturday was a excellent days racing, I think the calendar the way it structured from Boxing Day until Easter is well structured in the South Island, even the West Coast get a fair go, with meetings mostly alternating from Riccarton to a Southern feature every fortnight for a short period , after Easter it starts to be a bit of a challenge down South, maybe the stakes being better might help.
  7. I suspect Entain are a bit naive about the state of play, they spend and spend, but for how long ?
  8. Sounds or looks like to me that Michael is handicapped. Only a month or two ago he was bemoaning Invercargill having its Cup at the same time as the so called Northern top races. Invercargill race their race then as their are no races in the north over Xmas, New Year, it's 2024, not 1974, times have changed. You have to have handicaps for some races, it's little wonder less people are bothering when the odds are stacked against you. There are actually more races for top class horses than we tend to think, many rating 60+ races have a maximum back mark of 30m or so, they have a choice to turn up or not then they have all in FFA, note how those fields attract 6 starters of less, lots just don't bother.
  9. Southland Racing Clubs seems to be financially in a good position, must be the Trotting Club keeping them going but must have other income streams as well, probably farm the place, training centre etc etc, I know they even sponsored the Stags in the NPC, wonder what they get out of that, probably a big fat fucking zero.
  10. You firm on being anti Auckland, good for you.
  11. Hope he's not got one called Vladamir. If he did it may need a name change or have to be shot.
  12. Wasn't the Superboost for winning by a length or more ?
  13. I actually saw cars in the car park and people leaning against the rail at Ascot Park today, bet its not like that next time for Sunday after Easter but if you can't drag a few in for a card like today's you never will. It does happen, good crowds, Riverton will do same, just not often.
  14. I thought Guerin was a professional punter and writing for the Herald and doing the radio show was just a hobby.
  15. Probably just used that theory to justify not racing there. It's called bullshit.
  16. Alls not long for Wingatui. Young farmers comp had 120 spectators filling the grandstand according to the ODT, should add that to the Messara report.
  17. No that would probably then be defined as too much.
  18. Maybe he needs to get one of those 2 seat sulkys and get the stipe to go around too and show him how to do things properly.
  19. I was a great fan of Otagos Rugby but never liked Byron Kelleher, just a thug and a person's true character shows when under the influence. I know when ones a bit younger you can allow a few discrepancies but this fuckers getting on a bit now.
  20. Maybe they could get cardboard cutouts but Wingatui always looks like a place with very little atmosphere, maybe I'm wrong.
  21. Every time I see pictures of Wingatui on trackside or photos of horses in the birdcage, always seems their hardly anyone there.
  22. Strange you say that ,i actually broke out of my comfort zone and thought for interest sake to have a go after the Hawera quaddie, first 3 winners and had Victor Bravo and the House runner in the last, always the way.
  23. I heard Guerin yesterday waffling on about his picks yesterday, seventy percent on this and 30 on that, hard to follow but he did get some wins and as usual some losses too, but did he win more than he spent ?
  24. BG0 would have done nicely if they had of stuck to just win and top 2 3 4 bets but the TAB will love them. This is the thing with punters clubs, they seem to want to want multis, and most of them come up short.
  25. Think after race completed they may have nose in front, their big double with legato though has gone west.
