I actually wonder how long the NZ division of senz will keep going, its 11 o cock sunday morning, they have just finished another rerun of tales of the turf followed by another rerun, best of the saturday session, people want live radio not repeat after repeat, trotstalk follows at 12 yet Waterlea start racing about 12 20 so if your a harness fan where are you going to focus ? Newstalk zb run 2 12 to 3 sports shows at the weekend yet senz often try to compete by having their own sports show at same time, sure you can listen on demand but unless it's something out of the ordinary I dont and I spose lots of others dont, seems whoever is doing the scheduling must be a fuckin halfwit, maybe the racing coverage might rest with TAB, maybe senz, who knows but no racing on boxing day and now 2 saturdays in a row something's seriously going wrong here, do i really care, not anymore, how many others are the same, ? Do I really care,?, maybe we've all got that attatude that has got radio and racing to the point it's at. Like it or not Trentham yesterday for supposedly one of the bigger days on the summer was a pretty average day, small fields, probably a small crowd, things are pretty fucked really, if the product is crap we just turn off.

Only one day since Xmas day, a no goer again today with racing, oh dear, how sad, never mind.

I've often wondered why Westport Trotting club is not paying some of the biggest stakes for the whole calandar, their turnover on boxing day is one of the biggest days of harness for the season, turnover wise, money must be being directed elsewhere.

Attendances at sports events,races in Auckland are for the people living there very poor, probably only a few days they turn up for Ellerslie, probably hardly ever for Alexandra Park. I guess there are more other alternatives in the big city as opposed to the rural areas. I dont think Coasters need to worry about the future, they have their place just as much as the bigwig clubs, as long as the public and the trainers support it it will keep on keeping on, the fields this year were generally pretty good, keeping the amenities up to scratch, that's always gunna be a issue.

Reefton on course including phone betting, how do they know such figures ?, Can they track where a bet is taken from ?

Forbury are paying $9000 stakes at their meeting coming up at Wyndham, if they sell their land and keep the money they might be able to pay $90000 instead😄

Seems a bit of a wasted track, Richmond, Waterlea dont even race on theirs,all weather that is, probably run trials on them but they must need to be maintained to some standard but for how long?

If you download the senz app you can watch trackside, unfortunately it only does trackside 1, so if you wanna watch something on trackside 2, tough titty.

Seems simple to me, as long as there is a Forbury club they would keep the money, even if they become a one day a year club. Other clubs sell land to put themselves in a better financial position, same applies here.

No radio coverage on senz, that's boxing day and now today, they are treating the racing public with disdain this lot,when I'm out and about now I just dont bother now,listen to music or talkback, never mind. As for trackside I find it a hard watch but I dont watch it too long so it dont bother me anyway.

The four likes, what is the comment they like,is it highlighting the status change for Waikouiti, the fact that Timaru have no feature days or the suggestion of Timaru maybe hosting a feature day on Jan 1. Everybody has thoughts about the dates, calandar etc etc,whether Riverton on Jan 1 is exactly the right day, maybe the 3rd of Jan is a option the West Coast circuit dates, 3 meetings in 5 days seems a bit congested, there is actually no reason why the coast couldn't have 4 days over 10 days starting with Reefton and finishing with a 2 day meet at Greymouth or maybe Kumara racing the last day next week with Greymouth running a Saturday Tuesday most of the horses that go west probably wouldn't go south is there any reason why Waikouiti at Wingatui couldn't move to the sunday, the new years day for Waikouiti was dead in the water in recent years, same as Omakau, unless everybody is on the same page noone really gains. As for Timaru having no feature meetings that's another anomaly that should be sorted.

I noticed the TAB streamed the cricket, what sort of message does that throw out to the people who pay for spark,not sure though of if they stream all the aftermatch comments as my I pad don't seem to want to log in to tab site couldn't be bothered squinting into smart phone but usually the highlights show up on you tube eventually, not easy these days for tv company's competing with lots of alternative means of viewing. Back to the racing the fields this year have been good on the coast, the support it's getting from the trainers is top line, any reason why another day couldn't be added for say next Tuesday or something next year.?

Obviously the vaccination process is working well worldwide, record numbers testing positive and in some cases some now looking at a fourth jab, if you keep jabbing people all the time then eventually it will be as effective as pissing on a forest fire, but the company's making the vaccines will be raking it in.

No gallops in the Southern area again till Waikouiti at Wingatui in a fortnight, one thing I note though, today's Greymouth meetings will probably fall next year on a tuesday, how will the West Coast circuit stack up dates wise.

But times have changed, sadly. No Canterbury horses at all at Riverton, long way to go for one day but with Timaru and Kurow, enough to keep them going, as I explained before no southerners bar a couple at Kurow, few went to Waikouiti so this date change is a good one, whether new years days is exactly the right day well that's open for debate.

Maybe Trentham could race on their anniversary day, maybe even a duel code meeting, who knows. Omakau and Waikouiti were struggling for numbers, all very fine putting races on but it's still got to be a good product, some of those gallop meeting were having 4 or 5 horse fields and 6 races, that's not really what one would want.

While the people making the decisions get a fair bit of flak the decision to move Waikouiti and Omakau was the best to move a meeting to Southland instead Kurow have 2 Southland horses in the fields plus an emergency yet Riverton will probably have good numbers, southern trainers never really went to the two shifted meetings but the Waikouiti meeting two weeks after new year is a feature meeting now, Washdyke and Kurow are basically Canterbury meeting with a sprinkling of horses from Wingatui. Here's a thought that might be worth a look for the northern area, Rotorua, Tauranga and Hawkes Bay have 3 very average meetings, Taupo only have 7 races on thursday so here is a thought. Can those 3 meetings, shift Taupo to today , a holiday then run a 2 maybe 3 day circuit in Gisborne, maybe Wairoa, a big holiday area at new year, must be some merit in taking racing to the people, just a thought.

One question I was thinking, why don't they use all weather track, at all. As for the grass track, apart from the crossing the track looked good., and there was a lot of people leaning on the outside fence watching, don't see that often these days.
