  1. Seems to me Oamaru and Timaru seem to get the poor rub of the green, last year they had Riccarton 2 weeks apart and Wingatui and Gore on the alternate weeks, seem to go ok,
  2. The TAB are an interesting organisation, last year in a greyhound race at invercargill they had the place a win bet on a race and if you get 2nd to 4th you get you bet back in bonuses, strangely only four started,be interesting to see if there was a spike in betting on that one.
  3. People still go but you only need to look at Eden Park last night, half filled ground for a city of nearly 2 million people but they only go mostly on special days TV has fucked it but overkill has as well, both in racing and rugby,I don't even watch trackside much these days,if I'm around I'll tune in but tv has never really dictated my life,I like the radio but from a racing viewpoint I've got used to it not being on now, hopefully senz will get better in time,a lot of people must have turned off racing though without radio.
  4. Brodie, the restrictions placed on punters is only on fixed win and place am I correct, and the restrictions are to guarrantee the TAB not losing, what about sports betting. It seems all betting sites restrict some, sometimes bet 365 are known as bet3.65 by some,I'm not up with all this,
  5. I see Simpson just had a winner at Kurow and might grab another later in the day, always seems to have one that's capable of winning, another trainer I see going ok is Cam Jones,38 starts last season, ten wins, that's a good strike rate, just won I see with that horse,Tetrick,no form, yet goes out a warm favourite and wins. i guess it's night quite as hard with lots of very small fields, just looked at results from addington Friday night, gee some very small fields,it can't be good for betting.,everything winning at Oamaru so far paying less than 3 bucks,if the big punters who like to stack on plenty are restricted that must be counter productive.
  6. The question is,what to do with the National meeting should all the jumps racing be in the north only?
  7. 14 nominations for the grand national steeples next Saturday,no South Island horses, what next?
  8. Just to add to that comment,if we are really serious about having pristine water then the only way is to simply stop farming, sounds fanciful but in reality you can't change the fact that it rains ,it won't matter what farmers do they will always come in for critics more,in sometimes maybe justified but human pollution will always be the number one problem because the actions of humans creates every situation. Not sure what's it's got to do with racing lol but hey shit happens.
  9. Some of you guys want to try farming.,bigger farms, bigger problems then all the know alls in white vehicles telling every fucker how to do it,cant do it themselves but they tell others. Just looking at the front page of a farming magazine at a tractor under water in the flood, dont look to swimmable to me,the water that is.
  10. Brodie I don't know how old you arie, probably similar to me,I but as I get older I'm convinced that just about everything in life is declining very quickly despite all the bunch of fucking know alls coming through the ranks. That song Phil Collins sung,The land of confusion, some of the words ,so true.
  11. Some of that cycling was a bit of a hard watch, round and round and round,,I do find harness racing from Auckland pretty hard to get excited about, the meetings there are no better than those Thursday night meetings Forbury park were becoming noted for,see where they ended up. Just been reading about the number of horses that have been sold recently, the whole industry has got issues but the northern region seems the area with the biggest challenges.
  12. Fields for the flat races are ok but the jumping races are only only a shadow of the past, such is life.
  13. Brodie you don't seem to be very positive about things,I was actually thinking today what effect the Olympics are having on turnover, interest etc etc, haven't even looked at fields for Auckland, flicked over to trackside from 1 before, they were just pulling up at Alexandra Park then went over to greyhounds somewhere,so I just turned it back to one. im actually pretty bored with a lot of harness at the moment. only got as far as checking results from invers today,I do have to work too.
  14. Just thinking,it would have been good if she had a black singlet like Fred Dagg, maybe even gumboots as well. On a serious note probably at the age it is time will beat her,but it is true at any Olympic Games you have to perform to your best, sadly that didn't happen in this case,Beatrice Faumaina springs to mind.
  15. Back 4 more punishment, I knew you wouldn't be away long,it's addictive.
  16. In all reality, yep it wasn't a great effort but I don't really care if it transgender, there must be some way of accomodating them somewhere in the system, somehow, that's a awkward one though,it probably may not get another shot,it probably cost our team a lot of funding, performance counts for everything. Strangely though lots rave about Serina Williams greatness but just like Hubbard she's a lot bigger than all the other players,is she really better or just better by being bigger? im fucked if I know lol.
  17. I often think when they race on a heavy 11 and flick up all that grass in tufts that next time they go around they should go around the other way and kick it all back.
  18. Might have choked on a bit of sausage, times like that must wonder if it should have kept a good grip on the one it had, less trouble then.๐Ÿ˜
  19. Probably found a whole lot of other things that Warnes got as well๐Ÿ˜
  20. 24 noms for 3 jumping races at Riccarton Saturday and only 5 I think from the South Island, probably make more sense to race at trentham or something, cuts down the travel for most of them
  21. Some of those things you see in the athletics field events from China in particular,I reckon they were constructed in a laboratory, just like covid I guess, mind boggling really
  22. After that effort not sure if she could lift a decent diddle.
  23. Winstons legacy keeps living on,I hear old Winnie recently going on about the governments stupid ideas, yet he created this lot,odd to be honest.
  24. Ian Smith does his show from home,I think some of the others do too, lots of sports is broadcast from studios or home,no need to travel all over the place, probably a lot dont mind working from home.
  25. I think the budget tv,as in no on course prenters seem to come about in oz when covid struck, some days when I'm watching tv and that ain't often some of the guys in the studio dont appear too enthusiastic. As for senz one or two of the old trackside sports announcers are back in work,I dont listen too much,Ian Smith is ok,dont think much of the others, just my thoughts, they are close to the TAB as in dishing out bonus bets of course no point ringing competitions if you dont have a account, all in all though probably a good addition to our radio, let's hope the racing gets better.
