  1. Once NZ racing is finished the TAB crew probably go home and what you see is coming from Oz, it don't change the fact though it is annoying when one or two of those big races in West Australia with all the hype, as soon as it's finished it's bang over to Wentworth Park or whatever for a 5 dog race with a pool of 364 bucks, not very professional, I actually enjoy some of the gallops from Perth.
  2. Have you still got your marbles or have you lost them😄
  3. I personally don't like the simulcast the TAB are doing at the moment, shifting from 1 to 2 and vice versa, it's a hard listen, it's a service but it's just race after race but you do need some stimulating chat, you probably only listen if there is a specific race you want to hear, you are correct that they should just simulcast the two channels but it won't happen on radio, they don't have any .stations. On days like yesty, that's Saturday why don't the TAB run a online station, starting say at 11 and finishing about 8, and relaying it through the senz radio from 1 till say seven, it can't cost much then revert back to the simulcast, seems simple, strange thing is senz don't have the Ozzie races on radio but are playing them through their app, the thing I find a bit annoying is when the the good oil finishes at 6 and really a lot of the main racing is just starting they just run a repeat of something else. The question you ask was is the present setup servicing the punters, it's really just a lukewarm coverage, as you say it's either all or nothing at present it's actually niether. As one poster said they don't give a shit no more, and our listening and watching race habits have changed surely for one day a week and on feature days like Cup day and main public holidays, they can get this better, seems the people making these decisions are not in touch with the average race follower.
  4. These are the afternoons when a good radio coverage would be good,I cant sit and watch tv all day, even if I could I wouldn't, dont mind tv but my life dont revolve around it.
  5. How does it go so poor then go so good , as in being the favourite and winning then revert to going so bad?
  6. So ok what would you do to make it better?
  7. Just another thought, Tuepeka are racing I think at Ascot Park on Sunday at labour weekend, I wonder if they have investigated the possibility of racing at Roxburg, where do the committee actually live.?
  8. Only 7 races too.
  9. Might have been a pervert😄
  10. As I explained before when Devlin replaced Telfer on radio sport that's when I stopped listening, after that it was only live commentary on cricket. Senz at least have got a good announcer in Ian Smith, some may not like him but he's been there done it and has a mature look at issues. Here is a question for anyone.......Do you listen to the simulcast of racing on rova or the tab website.
  11. I'm not sure if the problem is the people hosting the show or the management behind the scenes, it's the management that needs to get this better, the punters club should include the people in it, the guys in the studio are free to spend someone else's money so don't care,,as you say you like to hear where your horse finishes I note that in America they only ever call the first four, something I have noticed. They are getting their feed from trackside so it don't matter if some of it overlaps on to the radio, newstalk get their clips of the sky commentary so it don't matter. There is no guarantee that senz will last long, who knows, yes it probably has a number of listeners but do they have enough, or advertisers that all remains to be seen,. Radio is a fickle business.
  12. Strange as it is I don't buy power ball, like even if my 6 numbers come up what are the odds of getting 1 out of ten, I do buy a lucky dip if it gets a bigger pool, there is a reason why it never gets struck anyway Maybe horse racing needs some bigger prizes to get people more interested, like it can't be as hard to win as lotto but you still need to spend a bit to win a bit, but as in all gambling nothing is certain.
  13. That lotto miss was in the days when the division 1 was around the 1.3 million every week, no one won so maybe if I'd got the win will never know if I would have got the lot, I've had 5 numbers about 10 times but that 5 out of 7 not 5 out of 6. As this was a betting on the place thread another form of betting that is similar is betting on football, its 24 and 7, games on all the time, betting on overs and unders, that goals, it looks easy but as with horse you can get tripped up by one one or two bad results.
  14. I thought all things considered the fields for Gore were reasonably good based on the very small numbers at the end of last season, helped though by a few Canterbury visitors, had Canterbury had a meeting who knows what would have happened?
  15. Some of senz timing for a radio show is a bit hard to fathom, yesty they have a sports talk show, running at the same time as zb had theirs, that zb one is fairly established. As for racing you just never know what you are going to get, they did the races yesty from both meetings but didn't do the last from Banks Peninsula, after5 and had a rerun of something else, gee even if they clearly stated that they say for instance did the last 5 races for the day which includes the late quaddie at least you know. Strange as it is our appetite for the gallops from oz on Saturday, once upon a time all we got on radio was nz racing, never thought anything about it , now because of trackside radio we expect it but the Saturday arvo setup needs to be run like the old trackside, it's just a bit too much time lagging . As a radio station they ain't worried about tab turnover but listening numbers, the more that would tune in on a Saturday arvo the better overall result for everyone. The simple reality is I like a lot of others don't have all day to watch TV nor fluff around with apps, radio is still and will always have its place for many things whether it's news music or sport.
  16. There was no top 4 option when I was picking these three, none at Tauranga gallops either, however history now, if I was a serious punter then unlike Addington on Fridays probably would not have taken those bets, grass track is popular with punters, lots of good price winners, only trouble is finding them and backing them, not easy.
  17. Picking comp yesty on other site, for yesty picks I got last, well I did beat 3 or 4 but they never posted any picks lol yet day before did well. As for lotto I have had the misfortune once of getting five numbers and being one off with the other you cant get closer than that.😒
  18. Ok here are 3 place picks Race 8 4 Scared Stiff at 3 30 FO Race 9Rockonroll Diva at 3 30 FO Race 10 Beyond the Horizon at 4. No top 4 options today I notice. Let's say 1000 place on all.only one needed to win, the one I would be most confident of winning is the trotter but the grass track is a different kettle of fish so the other two, unknown quantity.
  19. Never had a go last night, simply too busy, would I try the big place bet theory on the big grass track, hard to know. As for the guy with his sports multi, picking 5 results never easy, that's why you have the any 3 or 4 winners options.
  20. Speaking of Winston I hear he was getting stuck into the government the other day, he created it, what a Jekyll and Hyde.
  21. Does anybody know what they are doing with Victoria Park.
  22. I will post some winners tomorrow night😁
  23. Karrots are you joining the que after midnight for KFC ?
  24. Probably find 50 more may go around Alexandra Park friday.
  25. What is the obsession with queuing for miles for KFC,it is good but really,I've only had KFC about once in 18 months, I do eat chook but as I hardly go to town much that don't make it easy. Tried that KFC hot and spicy, it was hot but apart from that didn't excite me. As for Cambridge gee day one on the new track was a momentous occasion, now hardly even gets noticed, just another day of industry, I bet most of the people who went were probably one day wonders.
