In some ways this is what's fundamentally wrong with harness racing,some very much below average meetings and just looking at things this week a lot of them ,maybe less but higher quality might be a step forward,however the TAB appears to be going ok supposedly,however back to the subject at hand,Dennis O Connell seems to have a knack of getting some very average horses,(and I think we can safely say the spitfire fits in that category😄) and doing reasonably well with his all sorts team,so you never know,if he can get as much out of the spitfire as he can with Alexy then there is plenty of time for this horse yet over the next 5 or 6 years,interesting times indeed.

It's going to be a bigger challenge as Dennis cant drive him.

Smallish fields for Rangiora,same old same old for Oamaru and good sizes fields for Sunday,not easy for Oamaru having a drivers comp,some miss out,maybe they should be paying bigger stakes just to attract larger numbers.

Yes but does the standard of horses racing in the top races go down,they have set a very high benchmark.

Rangiora on Wednesday,Oamaru on Saturday,Banks Peninsula Sunday,lots of racing,then next week its Orari and Addington the day after,then the week after that its Timaru on Saturday then Akaroa on the Sunday then The week after that 2 Addington meetings and Methven on the Sunday,do we need this amount of racing and is it not a contributing reason with Forbury getting midweek meetings in between that is to that clubs detriment, having said that a positive way is looking at the fact that so many meetings on then in the eyes of the suits they must be doing ok,if they weren't they wouldn't have the number of days.............flip side on the other side of the coin ,southern gallops had 2meetings in 6 weeks earlier on and now Canterbury have no gallops I think for 3 weeks,so in reality is there a bit of unbalanced calandar between the codes?

Now they will all be able to stay hope and watch Coranation Street like a lot of others.

John Phillips has 2nominated for Ascot Park next week so he is still around anyway they have only 7 races for Wednesday but surely they can run xtra races,limits of only 12 of the sprint races,that's seems a bit small field size wise.

Should use starting stalls,just need to be careful they don't rip the wheels off on the way out,would be entertaining no doubt.

Just watched it,looked like Copy That wasn't fully on the job but still wasn't a even start.

Just like commentators and the guy doing the after race interviews sometimes it's not good,they are only human but it would a good deed though if the Tab refunded all the punters after every race that a horse had a bad start or got a bad run lol

I haven't seen the start of the race but have seen a lot of standing starts that are not that flash,so will someone do any better than this Lamb guy remains to be seen,I'm not into personal criticism of someone as such but maybe someone newer with a fresher appetite for the job is worth a go,how manyyears has lamb been the starter?
