  1. Brodie if you are restricted what's the max you could bet fixed on a race at Manawatu today, are you restricted betting on sport, could you stack a lot on a soccer game over 1.5 goals with 20 to play? Or head to head a game of rugby, basketball, what about the gallops.
  2. Taking same bet in melbourne cup, with bigger pool probably fine
  3. I remember not that long ago I think every fixed odd bet had a limit on them at the TAB website, you just clicked to put your stake/bet amount and it would say how much is the maximum, dont seem to do it now, maybe it's the punter being restricted or maybe everyone is restricted to balance the books, that bet is 6 to1 on a dog race,a hundred dollars winning 600,probably not that much in the total take for this sort of race
  4. Seems those Tuesday meetings ain't that popular nor the midweek southern meetings although they are competing with another gallop meeting most times,Auckland for primetime is not that great either yet the Country grass meetings seem very popular at weekends which still seem to be the most popular days still after all those years.
  5. I still wonder why TAB is streaming game,as for spark streaming, yes some people do have slow computers and slow internet, its not everyone who is so fortunate,I dont have a problem with streaming, sky do it,tv chanels do it,it should be another way to view, not exclusive, gee why dont tv1 who are partners of spark have a hours highlights or something of matches, personally I think nz cricket have dropped the ball here, less people watching is not promoting the game, its demoting, having said that 25 bucks a month is not a massive amount but add that to sky and other things one only has so much money to go around. Just to add, sky, have the aussie matches,I'm sure the viewing numbers in nz will be greater than watching nz matches, because it's a better product and it's not pushed out of the way as in harder to get.
  6. Very interesting, anywhere for the gallop figures as well? Question regarding dates/turnovers are a lot of them sustainable at the figures they are achieving? Strange how the grass tracks are more popular, could that have something to do with the days they are on as well? Does the lack of radio on workdays have a impact?,after all a lot at weekends chill out in front of tv,no easy coverage midweek.
  7. Just a extra, been looking through Forbury Parks facebook and the turnovers for the Tuepeka Sunday meet at labour weekend stack up well as opposed to others, a lot is all about scheduling, not sure how Palmy stack up on a tuesday,be nice to know, they do have good even fields tomorrow.
  8. Talking about mini meetings Ellerslie run 6 races on thursday, they are the way forward perhaps for CD area but Alexandra Park might be ending up the same way.
  9. Just to add,Alexy may well hit the 300 at Forbury, its favourite track, will need to race 299 this weekend then on to Forbury,I'm sure if the spitfire can get to 300 surely he must land one, lots of time.
  10. The other thing I notice with Dennis O Connell is the miles he clocks up,always going somewhere, was at Ascot Park last week then back to Canterbury for the weekend,i guess he will only do this for so long but if he enjoys doing what hes doing good on him.
  11. Maybe hes giving the horses viagra,it hardens them up and I've heard men grow another leg with it as well😁
  12. Aveross Majesty a winner at 10 to 1,I reckon someday Spitfires gunna land one, like it or not Dennis O Connell can get results, this ones a tough ask but enough positives yesty to be optimistic
  13. Even with that idea you would probably get a winner paying $9 95 or $24 75
  14. Or if you got more money back the field 25 a win and hope for a bugger upset lol.
  15. Back the field 10 a win and hope for a upset.
  16. The radio sport type programme they had on in the morning's was as good if not better than radio sport, but radio sport went tits up,the TAB could have siezed on this and had a sport racing chanell, there is a demand but in nz we are a small market, even zb,nzs number one station had pay cuts to help get through difficult times, gee even if they had a proper run radio show on the rova app on 2 or 3 days a week during peak times its a start, maybe even tap into that gold fm station on afternoons at weekends that was doing the rugby, there are possibilities,in the past its had some stormy times, race commentaries but as one door shuts others open.
  17. Just what I and I'm sure others miss is the weekend racing on radio, some say it's not that bigger deal but it was always in and on your mind through radio while you go about your daily life,(working),online is fine to a degree but not the be all.
  18. Reading an article in herald regarding an aussie company looking to buy old trackside frequencys, someone said here that the TAB had already sold them, not true but the company was looking into getting into the nz market, something will happen sometime,in what form, who knows, its happening in cricket,Magic talk and something will come along but probably where trackside fell down was transmitting too long, many days of no nz racing and trying to run a radio sport type programme before lunch, gee even if you had weekends, holidays etc it would be a start, interesting times ahead,(maybe)
  19. O Connell has Pete's Dash in race 1 today,I think hes got best form and almost the worst draw, then Aveross Majesty later on,won on grass at Oamaru, what are the odds today?
  20. Approximately 50 horses from CD area so still some life left, even a couple from Hastings throw in a good number of House horses a couple from Nelson and the northerners all bodes well,I'd say judging by numbers those mini meetings planned for later may be the way to go.
  21. Gee had a look at Palmy fields, good numbers and very even,so it's obvious the trainers/owners are still prepared to go there so if the fields for Manawatu are healthy this week why were the 2 northern meetings last week not?
  22. Dont think that the cricket quality is very good either,I heard that the numbers signed up to spark wasn't great so is cricket giving itself a backhander here? Maybe in time if spark dont do as well as they hope then it will be a one stop shop for sport viewing, like radio sport and trackside radio just not big enough markets in a small country like nz.
  23. That girl seems to get the best out of Alexy.
  24. Retirement? with Dennis O Connell training hes got got another couple of hundred races left in him I guess though it shows with so many meetings somewhere along the line it can happen.
  25. HISTORY HAS BEEN CREATED 3RD,hopefully the siren will stay silent.
