  1. Sleepee for the upset! The draw has made the race wide open.
  2. It wasn't a total surprise Gamma. No Matter Wat went a huge race at her previous start, galloping and losing much ground then storming home for third. Her sire A Rocknroll Dance has left some speedy tough horses. Michael Purdon part-owner so he had a good day.
  3. Just Believe has had great luck with the draw so far. The horse must be due to draw the outside of the second line?
  4. Go Bolt, you beauty!!!
  5. No.

I get your point my old mate. I know you one of the more astute horse people here but I think you being bit tough on young Nathan Purdon. The young man has achieved much in the game already. I think he is a family man Forbury, and no doubt his girlfriend is too. Both have family in Canterbury, Nathan's mother lives here. Riches can be made in the U.S. but the life is not for everyone, it would be hard. Just my thoughts my old mate. Good luck on Show Day. I know you will have something sorted. All the best.

    NZ cup

To right mate. I am glad someone else has noted the incredible training achievement of Jason Grimson. To get Majestic Cruiser ready for the NZ Cup with only one mile race start three weeks before the Cup and given a quiet run in that. He then had to be shipped to NZ and prepared for the Cup. Incredible training feat and the horse was a certainty beaten but that is racing. I think Majestic Cruiser is the top horse in Australasia. Jason Crimson and Cameron Hart, both young men, are two of the most talented horsemen in Australasia. Australian harness is lucky to have both of them. Will they both end up in the U.S.?

I agree my only criticism is she talks to fast but that is the norm these days. She's a breath of fresh air because I believe the crew needs an upgrade, some been there too long. Keep Greg and Miss Sim and find someone new. We need a straight talker like The Reidman on the show. Perhaps CJ De Filippi might be available soon?
  9. Young Dalgety is going to cause a serious accident one day with the way he drives in the straight with his arms held up in the air like a stagecoach driver being chased by outlaws. And Drug didn't look so good this week my old mate. Biggest jack up in racing was his win in Addington when given soft sweet trip by Smithis Terror who pulled out to sit parked to give Krug a soft run. Good to see both horses well back today. Shameful

He was given the race, again. WTF Majestic Cruiser certainly to beaten, dragged back through the field by the rogue Southcost Arden. That horse did not deserve a start in the Cup, form so poor. I knew the horse would ruin the race somehow and he did costing Majestic cruiser a certain win. Natalie Rasmussen proves to be still #1. Perfect driving all day from her. I backed Spankem as a backup F3 at $3.20 so came out just a few dollars down. If the cruiser had nit been checked I get plenty. Take it on the chin...

I agree mate. Lambs' apprentice was good for a few months but his standards have slipped. He is still better than Lamb, let's face Stevie Wonder would do a better job than Lamb, but too many starts are a shambles. Drivers delaying the start needs to be knocked on the head. It's so annoying. Let's hope that all the starts on Cup Day are fair my old mate. All the best.
  12. Thanks Gamma mate. All the best on Cup Day Race 1: Son of Patrick, Royal Del Race 2: Rakero Storm, Sinbad Race 3: Resolve, The Bloss Race 4: De La Renta, Victor Bravo Race 5: Republican Party, The Falcon Race 6: Steph's Boy, Vinke B Race 7: True Fantasy, Icee Styxie Race 8: Bolt For Brilliance, Midnight Dash Race 9; Don't Stop Dreaming, Merlin Race 10: Franco Indie, American Me Race 11: Majestic Cruiser, Spanken Race 12: Mixed Faith, Illegal Alien Race 13: Classy Dancer, Artatac
  13. Yes, Samantha Ottley has taken her driving to a new level, good on her. It is a ding dong battle between Samantha, 56 wins this season, and Sarah O'Reilly, 55 wins this season. And credit must be given to Michael House. What a great old horse Warloch has been, racing in both islands from Auckland to Invercargill. The eight-year-old gelding has earned $192,000! What a great horseman Michael House is. He keeps his horses fit and healthy and they race regularly. The industry will be in trouble if Michael House ever leaves it.
  14. I'm hearing you mate. Don't let them get to you. Ignore the bastards matey. Thanks again for the tips. You're the best And we were both right about Miss Sarah O'Reilly, told them years ago. Not many commenting now mate. She's the best since Dexter. All the best.
  15. Thank you Sir, I listened to you. Pocketed plenty, thank you. All the best and keep up the good work mate.
  16. What an achievement by young Sarah O'Reilly to win her third, yes third, NZ Junior Driving Chamiopnship. I have been saying for years that she's the best since Dexter and she proved that again today. Sarah did not have a drive in one heat so what an extraordinary achievement. It's a sign of greatness that you step up when it matters. Sarah O'reilly does that. She's a cracker.... Congratulations Sarah And wouldn't her grandfather, the gentleman of Highbank, master trainer/driver Patrick O'Reilly be proud of her. "She's got good hands," he would say. Sarah O'Reilly is one of the best junior drivers ever.
  17. Samantha Ottley and Sarah O'Reilly have both won over 50 races so far this season. They could both crack 100 winners for the season. Incredible!
  18. He's a good horse that Mystic Max, I like the horse but didn't back cos bit short for me. He is a beautiful looking horse but still got a lot to learn, when he gets it all right in a year or two he will be in the top league. You might see him over there Gamma? One things for sure they horse will keep on improving.
  19. Copy That couldn't win the Cup on last night's effort Gamma? Very weak run. Dream run and only battled in straight. The horse does not look like it is enjoying racing, perhaps carrying an injury or tired from a busy campaign last season. it will be interesting to see the excuses. Ray Green has plenty of them and seldom is he to blame. No show in NZ Cup
  20. Look mate, keep your shirt on,. OK. I happen to agree with you, but I am trying to be fair. It's not fair to make snap judgements about a trainer till we know the full story. There's too much of that stuff already in the game. I don't know what to think Galah. Really, it is a really bad look and the horses so sad. There is something gone wrong and answers must be found. I've been involved in the industry for over 50 years so my educated guess is that these horses have been overtrained as yearlings and two year olds, and perhaps some sort of supplement that didn't agree with them. I don't know mate. It's a shameful situation and a poor look for the great harness industry.
  21. Mate. Majestic Cruiser will win the Cup if the comes over. I can't see him being beaten at Addington with that long straight and lovely home bend. The Cruiser has a phenomenal sprint. I can see young Hart and The Cruiser powering down the outside like a rocket ship, he'll hit the front 100m out and leave them to it. Get on now.
  22. I said it "looks" dodgy. There's probably a reasonable explanation for the sudden deaths of three stablemates but maybe there isn't an explanation?
  23. Looks dodgy to me Galah. Whatever, it is not a good look when the likes of SAFE are trying to shut down greyhound racing, trotting will be next after that. Mark my words.
  24. No, you are wrong my old mate. Heza Sport galloped but didn't lose any ground and more importantly didn't cover any extra ground. That was the difference at the end of the race. The win was no surprise if you saw the trial two weeks ago (I did), where Heza Sport beat The Falcon and Laver in a sizzling time. That trial was the pointer for Friday's race. Heza Sport drew well and that made the difference in the end because he got qa couple of lengths on The Falcon. The Robert Dunn horses were well beaten. The likes of Heisenberg are good horses but not top liners. Heza Sport, Laver and The Falcon are better horses than them now. The Dunn team driving tactics were nullified too which was very good to see.
