Mate, look after yourself. You are getting a bit obsessive about the government. Take a break mate for your mental health. It's no good trying to find against it, futile, it has to run its course mate, the Clowns will go to far eventually... until then. Chill out.
-
Yes, but back in those decades, in the milkshake and arsenic tonic days, two or three stables won most of the loot. Horses transferred to Lischner/Barron overnight gained lengths in performance... across town the arsenic "tonic" had similar results... Mate, I think this government is getting to you. I understand but try and not take it so seriously mate. It's not good for mental health. There's nothing you can do but just ride it out... the end will happen some time.

He'll keep. He did't have much hope from that draw anyway mate over a mile. The horse was short here too, too short given his draw. Some horses seem to thrive in Queensland and Capt Crusader is one of them.

Mate, I think this government is getting to you. Get your act together. Horses do not turn three until January 1 now. Age races have always been weak at this time of the season, five or six horses was the norm back in the 80s. Back then of course they were often ruin as non-totes. You might be right about the All Stars in this case because it looks like Milwood Nike could be something special. It is also good to see that the All Stars are giving Olivia de Havilland Thornley drives on better horses. She is driving well these due to experience and better horses. Frankly, it is not worth betting at this time of year but that is nothing new.

Cam Hart is very talented, who can forget his masterful drive to win the Messenger a few weeks ago. I think the likes of Town Echo thrive over there because they get regular racing, small field and far better grading system. Here mares like Town Echo have few chances, unless they win junior drivers' concession races, they struggle.

Gamma, my old mate. Don't forget the Australian bred Captain Crusader. He loves it in Brisbane, the colt had a good carnival last year and I think he will repeat this year. Look at him for long place odds, I give you the tip!

BRODIE... YOUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED... YOU CAN GET MORE ON!!!
Davis replied to Davis's topic in Trotting Chat
That's poor mate. I agree should be on all fixed odd bets. Hopefully, this is move is just the start and soon other bets, place, first three etc will be included. This doesn't suit me because I make the most on long odds place in G1 races, think Laver. -
To be fair mate it has always been like this at this time of the season. Late autumn, winter many horses sent for a spell and I don't blame trainers for doing it. Who wants to me working horses in the mud, rain and frost. I agree with you about Addington. It baffles me why trainers would rather race their horse at Timaru than Addington. It's senseless. I've given up trying to understand it mate. Crazy! Of course is is worst today mate because fewer horses. You only get the slow horses those that never have a spell, Bright Glow, The Bloss, Ruby's A Delight etc... I don't bet much at this time of the year. Although small some of the fields are interesting at Addington, I think there will be some up and comers on display to be filed away in the black book until next season.

Thanks for that, didn't know she was racing no interest in Rangiora. Yes, it looks like she could be coming right. Hats off to Terence Chmiel as he must have worked hard to turn her around? Looks like she should win three or four~

Worst named horse in NZ! Why would you seriously????
Davis replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
Luxon is also useless mate. He comes across as fake to me. I won't vote for him or the communist. Might have to vote for the Greens!!! -
Worst named horse in NZ! Why would you seriously????
Davis replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
One, or more, of the brainwashed must of complained to HRNZ about the name. What a thin-skinned lot those communists are! -
Definitely. Get in front and stay in front, look at Bright Glow led and bolted in looked like Sundee's Sun! 😆

The Dunns have not got any top pacers. Classie Brigade is their best as you point out mate. The horse is consistent but is unlikely to win a G!. Henry Hubert is Ok but not really the type of horse to feature in G1 races. There are not many up comers because many are sold, or sent to Australia to race. I don't blame them for either selling or sending to Aust to race because the horses have more chance of earning over there. The Tellers have some handy horses working through the grades. I think the stable is the one most likely to challenge the All Stars in the next two or three seasons.

I think they are all group races mate that's why early Fixed Odds? Don't know why they can't do the other races at the same time as it is the same horses racing each week? I agree with you most of the races not worth a bet but I do think that Race 7 at Alexandera Park is interesting. I think I can see the winner, Highgrove will be favourite, but too short for me but there are other promising young trotters in the field, including young Purdon's Mystic Max, Nairn duo El Conqueror and Masterly, Rakero Blaze and American Muscle all capable of winning it. That's the race I will be targeting mate!

To be fair the horse did look better at Ashburton. Perhaps it was the wet track? I agree that she probably isn't a racing proposition unless someone works her out? I don't understand some of these owners mate. They spend thousands of dollars on these slow horses, for example Gotta Ticket. Why? It's costing them thousands to race a slow, uncompetitive horse. I don't understand mate, they could go to the yearling sales and buy a yearling for the money it costs to them train, feed, pay vets of the slow horse. Crazy.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Mr House. Plodding team? He's wins more races than most trainers. He also uses top drivers on his horses, Blair Orange, Sarah O'Reilly something other trainers could learn from . Yes, most of his horses are in the middle gradings and that is why some are hard to follow. The grading system is difficult, I don't understand it. There are races with rating 35-48 that's quite a spread. Back in the day, there were more horses, and there would be plenty of C3 horses, for example, to have a C3 race. Today, that is not possible except on rare occasions - Premier days. So you have a horse like Changearound that will win again soon. When it does it will go up a grade and be uncompetitive until it has four or five misses and drops grades. I agree with you about crap races but that is not caused by Mr House, rather a lack of horses. Or too much racing? I get sick of the slow, grass track nags that run around week after week and seldom bet on them unless I see a good thing. At least Houses' horses are fit. Horses have hardly ever paid their way that is nothing new. I think it would be easier to make money today because there are fewer horses and the grading system does make it possible for horses, particularly trotters, to amass impressive earnings. Think of the likes of Bright Glow, The Bloss, Take After Me, Sod's Law, who have earned over $100,000. Back in the day horses like those would have got to C3-4 and that would be it. Personally, I think the industry needs more people like Mr House.

Quite right mate. See Gotta Ticket another frequent offender was given another warning at Rangiora today after galloping for no reason and checking triailling horses.. How many warnings has this horse had? Why is it still racing?
-
You're right mate. But, to be fair, harness is far easier to make the money. I steer clear of those gallopers mate, there's some crooks in that game and form hard to follow. If you piss on the track some can't handle it, others love mud. it's a raffle. Not for me.
-
I get your point mate but there is a lot more racing in Aussie. Here they should be able to get the odds out the same day the fields are published, surely? I mean it is the same horses running around week after week, slow grass track horses, mostly and up north small fields and same horses each meet. Do the TAB even need the bookies? Surely, the whole process must be able to be done by computer these day, mate?
-
I agree it's hopeless mate. The bookies need replacing. They should be able to get odds up far earlier than they do. The day before, or even on the actual day, is not good enough. They do offer good odds occasionally, mate. Nines for Mabalene last week was over the odds... thank you very much. Generally, the odds are poor and not worth looking at. There are some interesting races as Auckland tonight but I only watch.

A reminder of how good Roydon Glen was... made topliner Comedy Lad look second rate in the 1984 NZ Messenger Final.

Roydon Glen winning the Great Northern Derby... one of the best performances you will ever see...

https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=295588&Arg=hrnzg-rSite&Arg=TRUE I have been critical of Mr Williamson in the past but his drive on Idealism in the Southern Country Cups final at Ascot Park, Saturday, was perfect. That is the way you drive the best horse in the race, well done Mr Williamson. But he was given specific driving instructions from strike-rate trainer, Alister Black. Mr Black said: "Williamson’s brother Brad landed a Diamonds Day treble including a victory in the Southern Country Cups Final which touched the hearts of the owners of Idealism. On Saturday morning, trainer Alister Black and his team of owners lost their friend and fellow harness racing enthusiast, Peter Carnie. Williamson wore an armband in acknowledgment of Carnie’s passing following a battle with cancer. With the reinsman producing a brilliant front-running drive and Black having his pacer primed to run a big race, the Idealism team were able to honour Carnie in the best possible fashion. “To be fair to him he hasn’t had a lot of luck in these Country Cup races,” Black said. “I said to Brad during the week – let it rip, potato chip.” “We will go for the doctor, they have got to catch us.” “A good soldier always leads from the front, I believe, and that is what he did today.” Idealism hasn't had much luck in some of his races often due to the driver. Perhaps Black should deliver specific driving instructions more often? It was a good competitive days racing at Invercargill. Aardie's Express looks a top liner?

NZ TAB- Where is the class info for Ozzie Trots GONE?????
Davis replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
TAB really cutting back on services mate. And surely they can find a better tipster than the so-called Shark. He's toothless and useless. Today he picks Rightazz, a $1.60 shot. WTF? But I guess the horse did win, generally his tips are well down the track. What is the point of tipping a horse like Rightazz mate? We all know it would win that race, set for by strike rate trainer A Black. The Shark should be sacked.
