  1. Probably both but I think most would realise I was referring to the industry based on the above figures.
  2. It aint there and never was. They dreamed it up. Fabricated it if you like.
  3. Be nice to see some signs of that emerging as they pull back on their commitment to marketing expenses like this. I'd say there is more of this pull back from lavish extra expenditure to come.
  4. A 7% increase year on year on NZ racing and that's turnover, so with the trend to FO, revenue is probably down. And that's with the benefit of the online monopoly, Betcha and extensive advertising now in full swing! The sunset might be closer than I expected.
  5. I wonder how they selected the survey participants. It obviously didn't go to all owners or all licence holders, or all TAB account holders.
  6. Oh, so what are the right things that we should be focussed on?
  7. And the participant 'think tank' concept is interesting. Not opposed to the idea but haven't we done enough thinking by now? It's surely time for some action?
  8. Can't see how when the overseas operators can't legally take bets from kiwis on racing and sports anyway anymore, whereas overseas casinos still can?
  9. FB. There's mention maybe in that vid or somewhere that it may have been an AF.
  10. Could be wrong but.... Alabama Lass & Sky Bird pull up lame, Lady Shenandoah was never a good thing from the draw, despite mugs listening to the cunning bookies. Oillie reviews Moonee Valley and the weekends group races. A great watch! https://www.racing.com/videos/2025-09-28/the-verdict--280925
  11. Pulled up lame didn't she?
  12. Feb 1
  13. Bridget out for 6 weeks.
  14. Stipendiary stewards provided an update on all riders and horses which saw May (pelvis), Grylls (shoulder/arm) and Taplin (wrist) transferred to hospital for further observation and treatment whilst Atchamah (possible concussion) and Murray were cleared of any serious injury. All horses came through the incident relatively unscathed with just bumps, bruises and scrapes reported. Stipendiary stewards met with the remaining jockeys on-course and it was agreed that the final two races on the day would be abandoned.
  15. Not exactly. They certainly provide it at a large financial loss for a shot at whatever prize money the customers (punters) provide and whatever other benefits they consider they gain from their participation.
  16. Did she say that the lack of closure was pathological itself and due to the early training, or that the intense training prior to closure could cause pathology, e.g. back strain?
  17. I've no idea. Do you know? There are numerous people who do that but I don't really see how that relates to the thread topic.
  18. I don't see the connection between rules for killing stock for human consumption and euthanising horses if that's what you are talking about.
  19. I don't see the point you are making. What is the basis that you think MPI should be intervening on?
  20. I'm sure Colin can take it and probably not lying down, especially when it's evidently from a no name or identity character like that who seems to be as much or more of an arch conspiracist than Wightman. Good entertainment though
  21. True but a couple of people with horses in work there that I was talking to are finding it a tad expensive.
