It appears that Wilson House pulled back and let Sam in?
-
Congratulations Sam Thornley on winning the Australasian Young Drivers Championship in Oz . It is always a well run event they hold and with plenty of races over several different tracks it gives the young drivers plenty of chances. Sam Thornley has done a great job since he started driving several seasons ago and his young namesakes are also very capable horse people. I remember when there were many around castigating young Sam for being over vigorous on a drive at Addington and were calling for him to have his license taken off him! the fact is that the horse he was driving always needed the persuader, it was the male horse with the female name, something Rose! Brodie went into to bat for the young lad on BOAY and he was on the money knowing that the bloke was going to be successful.

Ban WOKEISM and things would be far better for everyone. The fact is that Greyhounds are going to become extinct just for a stupid decision. There has to be more to it than supposed cruelty to greyhounds when there is so msny more important issues than that?
-
Apparently the Pfizer toxin jabs do?
-
If it was so bad and it worked you would think others would be fully masked up as well as there were millions of the stupid covid masks chucked out! Reality is that having your nose covered by something is not what we are designed for and has a detrimentsl effect on our breathing by breathing in all the crap from our mouth and so uncomfortable. Anyway Rory’s business but just looks stupid!
-
He has been doing it for a long time. Just why, as he seems to only be wearing out on the track? Does anyone have the answer as to why?
-
Can anyone tell Brodie why Rory McIlwrick wears a face covering over his whole face up to his eyes? Has he not heard that wearing masks for Covid was a con and no longer needed? I appreciate some females who are Muslim also wear them but Rory dies not qualify for that! Is there any logical reason he wears it in races??

I still maintain that Entain should never have given the contact for the TAB website to Racing and Sports from Australia apparently according to themselves being trusted for over 20 years! The info they provide is just so inferior and inaccurate compared to what we had before Entain took over. Apart from the crap comments etc. you would really expect them to be able to differentiate between a mobile start and a standing start? Race 2 at Addington Friday night says it is a MBL 1980m race and yet the info is saying it is a Stand? Yes it will be a mobile as it is 1980m but how is so much wrong info allowed to get through?

In 20 months no more @Yankiwi....I mean Greyhounds are Banned!

It is an interesting one whether it is a breach of contract! I would say that if they lost all racing in NZ, they would not be too worried as their costs would be so much less and without the hassle and they would still have the Sports Betting which is what they wanted in the first place! -

QE11 was a grass track and provided a far better spectacle than what the Addington track does. There were injuries when they raced at QE11 but think it was more toes rather than leg issues? I am very surprised that Peters has canned the greyhound racing and it will be forever unless it is overturned before the 20 months is up. There has to be more to it from Winston surely as greyhound racing is not cruelty to the dogs that love to run. Contact sports like rugby and league give participants many injuries and early dementia, so surely this is cruelty to humans, so this should be shut down as well!! -
Why was this? Winstone not wanting punting on the Dogs? Looked at the tote pools for Palmerston North and some were less than what the Brodster has offloaded by himself sometimes! I wonder whether todays crazy decision by Winston will mean that the greyhound punters will change to harness, you would hope and doubt they would go to gallops?

Personally do not bet on or follow the dogs but seriously to ban them is moronic. The greyhounds just love to run snd chase the fluff! It will be the extinction of the greyhound in NZ as no one will breed them for pets even though they make good pets. The pups that have just been born will never race at all and who is going to pay the costs of feed etc. I believe NSW tried to ban the dogs a few years ago but that decision was overturned. There are far more cruelty going on than greyhound racing where the dogs are not forced to chase!!! Most of us eat meat from animals that are bred to be killed which is a far more cruelty to animals than greyhound racing! Just seems overkill by Winstone and very surprising and now the Lefty Loonies will be even more crazier! -
Gamma with respect, far better than your current PM, he is absolutely hopeless.

Has the fish n chips got gravy on them? The gravy train needs to be stopped and all New Zealanders should have woken up to this BS from TPM! What happened in parliament a couple of weeks ago from TPM was disgraceful and everyone should be able to see what we will have if people are stupid enough to be voting for the Left! Absolute chaos and racing will be finished in NZ!

Great that they were able to keep the $10m deposit but a better result wouldve been for the settlement to have taken place as the interest being paid will have more than killed the deposit being kept! As for getting more than the $90m is going to be very interesting, in normal situations they are dreaming. However it is possible if Maori are the buyers as the NZ taxpayer will be or have shelled out the dosh and we all know they are always treated with favouritism unfortunately for the country. Interesting times and wondering why ATC had not got a backup offer on the property when they knew that the Chinese offer was not going go happen? Are they all asleep at the wheel, they just do not seem that financially intelligent up that way by the look of it?
-
Well done TAB, you ticking a few things off your bucket list, which is great! When you were hob knobbing with the Entain bosses, did you enquire as to how well they thought they were travelling ? Geez if you can make money on the gallops then you must be a pretty clever punter or just luck on the day?
-
Both by Lordship?
-
Would need to be s very wealthy one wouldnt it? Looking forward to knowing what this exciting news is?
-
Great that there is some positive news in regards the ATC as they just could not continue the way they currently are. Do we know what this positive news actually is as we were told that the building of the apartments was going to be this golden egg for harness and we all know how that has ended!

Apologies to Lionel it is Dobbs not Dodds.

Was looking thru the fixed odds as you do, at Methven on Sunday. Race 9 a 43 to 65 discretionary trot has 2 horses at $301 fixed to win! Has there ever been odds as high as this fixed from the Bookies on harness before? Both horses are non winners from the Lionel Dodds stable, and look as though they are starting as there is no maiden trot on the card! Now they both have an assessment within the 43 to 65 range but seriously it does show what a stupid grading system it is! They both appear to be trotters that will very much struggle to win a race and yet Methven have allowed to race against horses that have won multiple races, and these two maidens would be lucky to win unless they had a massive start. Neither have any show of being near the money and they are going to be an inconvenience to the legitimate chances in the race! Of course the trainer is allowed to nominate his horses for the race as they qualify due to the grading system, but SERIOUSLY Methven Club should be looking at what they have done by allowing these non winners into a race winners field when they have got no show whatsoever! Others opinions?

Nigel and Brenda Armstrong deserve every bit of their successes and more. Very hard workers running the syndicates and trying to entice new people into harness ownership. They do this because they are passionate harness racing enthusiasts and receive no financial compensation apart from their share of the stake money which as we all know disappears back into the training costs for all the horses they own. Apart from running the birdcage area at Addington he is also very unhinged with all of his videos, which I am sure is time consuming!

I used to think that Southland harness racing was inferior to Canterbury racing, especially the trotters. However, after last night, i would have to rethink that lol. Gay McClymont who many probably are say who, brought 2 trotters up from the deep south, and both bolted in! I knew they could trot bit, had a bit of speed but to do what they did to our Canterbury trotters last night was quite surprising. Very well done to Gay and congratulations for coming up and doing what you did, and something you will never forget. Maybe now we might see even more from the South coming up?

Yes grass track racing is great for the industry. I must commend the The TAB/Entain for the fact that they now bring the fixed odds out much earlier than when Entain was not involved, so that is a big plus for racing.
