  1. Galah, some of your very best work! All of your questions are fully justified, but I would doubt that we will be getting too much out of HRNZ because they do not appear to have an answer to too much. We have had this extra money from Entain chucked into stake money and bonuses that was promised but I personally do not believe that they really have much of an idea with racing! They have made many poor decisions since they took over to my mind, however hopefully things will improve. Has Entain actually got a good record with racing anywhere, as they are a sports betting and gambling agency and do not appear to have had much success with racing! Like to be proven wrong though?
  2. Wasnt there but do you reckon the crowd was bigger than what the normal Motukarara post Xmas meetings were on a warm day?
  3. Seriously if Entain want to retain and attract Punters they need to get rid if the Clowns that are operating their TAB website, this Sports and Racing Australia, Trusted for 20+ years!! They are clearly not up to the task of providing accurate or up to date information! So poorly performing it is laughable what they provide, they have to be very very cheap or why would anyone actually be using them? They are just so inaccurate they actually think that Omakau raced on a grass track and the stats that they use also account for this! How can this outfit actually think that they are TRUSTED FOR 20+ YEARS???? Hopeless compared to what our previous TAB offered!
  4. At Roxburgh trots tomorrow, apparently Craig Thornley is very comfortable in the saddle? This is according to the comments coming from Sports and Racing, Trusted for 20+ years,! This is the comment even though Craig Thornley isnt driving Amaretto Franco! Is the race down there a Saddle Trot?
  5. I can go into HRNZ website no problrmd. But often when I want to watch a replay they are thinking I am a Bot and require me to sign in! Even when I do it still doesnt allow viewing and then after several goes it randomly lets me watch? Bit of a pain really.
  6. Over the past couple of months off and on they want Brodie to sign into, as they think he could be a BOT! I am sure the BOT stands for something with Brodie. I sign in and still often I can not see the replays, then after a few goes they reappear! Interesting really I have to be a BOT in their eyes?
  7. Brodie is not a BOT, and never has been! Does anyone else have trouble with getting race replays on HRNZ after signing into it? Not sure why they introduced this signing into HRNZ thinking that we are BOTS??? Doesnt always happen but can be quite challenging at times!
  8. On boxing day the track was never good. It had a good amount of grass on it and thry had had rain and most horses struggled to get through it. Yesterday it was totally different, it had dried out a bit snd they had rolled it so the grass was not as long and there were form reversals from the first day. A lot of the time the weather snd track conditions are at odds with the true weather conditions. HRNZ can say rain and yet no rain predicted at all on the metro weather report?
  9. Nowornever, the point being is that with all of the money that Entain are chucking at racing including breeding bonuses, stake money etc. you would think that they could provide a semi half decent TAB web site, wouldnt you? They say that the Sport and Racing Australia who are providing the info has been trusted by the Australians for 20 plus years? Bollacks, It would have to be the most inaccurate betting platform in the world surely or maybe we were actually spoilt by the TAB before Entain?
  10. I am sure he has got his phone number! Does anyone think that Entain is the White Knight that will be the saviour of harness racing in NZ outside of the 5 years? If so, can you kindly explain why you believe they will be successful?
  11. Of course Ranga. Why do you think the bonus that was just announced is for 3 years? It is when the 5 year Entain guarantee of this funding expires! Would be great to be hearing from Dean Shannon CEO of Entain as to their plans for harness that he will guarantee for NZ. We are hearing nothing from them at all?
  12. The fields are up on the TAB website for tomorrow provided by the Ozzie outfit which appatently has been trusted fir over 20 years lol! The site is useless fir information, it can not even have yesterdays form up which is absolutely USELESS!!! Bring back the old TAB site, but they eont because they do not care about racing punters!
  13. They do not care about harness! Sam Ottley gets the 100 wins for the season and they whip over to a pointless gallops race in Oz!
  14. TAB, so you think everything is rosie with harness racing at the moment? Are you on the payroll or something along those lines? you need to take off your sunglasses and open your eyes! The biggest promoter of harness racing in NZ as I see it, is not even on the payroll, and yet puts in heaps of hours each and every week of his own time!
  15. TAB, great that you post your opinion, and that is what we need, people posting their thoughts! Firstly Galah and myself may well post things that might be seen as being negative but they are always made with good intentions. Posting our opinions is what we need more of and you may think that they are negative when in fact had you thought that they may well be the truth?? Personally speaking and I believe that there have been many very stupid and unsuccessful decisions made by several people that has severely hindered progress for harness racing! Are we not allowed to comment about what is happening in harness racing on a public forum BOAY? Whether harness racing survives dies not ultimately affect myself as I am not reliant on it whatsoever to make a living! I believe that yes they are trying to make things happen and make harness racing once again very popular. Hopefully this will be achieved and it will thrive, but does this new bonus system that Brad Steele has put forward possibly create divisiveness? Anyway time will tell, I believe that they should be prioritising trying to bring in new punters to harness racing as I can guarantee that without new ones coming through, you might as well turn out the lights. Without the profits from the TAB you havent got decent stake money and obviously everything will go downhill. Entain or whoever owns the NZ TAB in 3 years time is not going to be continuing to chuck money at it! Brodie on the money, whether you like it or not?
  16. Galah, great that you express your opinion. Far too many people just do not express their opinion nowadays, and that is the problem a lot of the time with these questionable decisions that are being made currently. Not too sure how long it took Brad Steele to come up with this seemingly complicated system where preference is going to be given to some over others! So if you are 41 years old you are not as wanted as a new owner as someone who is 39? The industry is going through a time where the correct decisions are paramount for NZ to continue to have a harness racing future. Personally not that confident that these bonuses are what the industry needs? What they need without doubt is more punters coming through and without more of them we are in trouble.
  17. Brad Steele came from Australia highly qualified apparently? We will have to wait and see if chucking this money around is going to have positive effects in the next few years! Interesting concept from Mr Steele the way he is trying to get under 40s into ownership.
  18. Carter as a Junior is every bit as good as Dexter was at the same age. He is probably going to win the Premiership even though he was away for a long time in the United States. We have several very good Junior drivers at the moment which is great and needed! There does not seem to be many new Juniors coming through though at the moment, to replace the Juniors that become Seniors?
  19. Lol, Gamma all is good! If the powers that be think they are doing the right thing for harness racing in Nz then thst is good! I am just merely pointing out that I have absolutely no faith whatsoever nowadays in decisions being made! Anyway, love this time of year as there is so much racing and always do very nicely. I am going to go for it now while we still have racing. Merry Xmas to all!
  20. First race at Auckland just been run with stake of $100k win pool of under $6k and under $4k place tote. Doesn’t seem too profitable and considering Invercargill tote pools all day are massively more and racing for much smaller stakes, think they have stuffed up again?
  21. What I have lesrn Well written and I would say accurate posting Galah. What I have learnt and surprised over the past few years is just how gullible and naive people in NZ are! If someone in authority says something so many actually believe that it must be gospel. Look where this country is financially at the moment due to decisions made by voters that allowed the most unqualified bunch of lefties in Labour to control NZ for 6 long years. The damage to the country is going to be felt for decades unfortunately. As for Auckland racing, it is in a perilous state and hopefully they can sell Franklin for a good price but I would not be holding my breath. ATC knew there was a chance that the sale was going to fall over and shouldve been working on getting a backup offer on it! The interest on the debt is ticking over at a quick rate and yet they can run these $100k races which is going to lose even more money. I suppose at the end of the day it is only going to cost them a few hundred thousand or a months interest, so doesnt matter! Entain have come in and shelling out money into stakes with gay abandon and are these White Knights apparently? Maybe they buy Franklin and split into housing?
  22. Suppose I need to subscribe to the Tipping Line?
  23. Anyone with any semblance of business acumen can see that these Auckland meetings are losing money. This meeting financially is going to be horrifically in the shite! It is good to see fields in Auckland where there isn’t 5 starters, but seriously if you think that throwing massive amounts of money into Auckland racing to bail them out is a winner, then personally think you are deluded To run these $100k races over 1700metres just shows how clueless some thst are msking decisions really are! The turnover on this meeting will be interesting but yes, Auckland is being given preferential treatment and it will backfire! Did we ever get what the positive news that came out of the ATC meeting was?
  24. Thats what I mean Spatchcock, far better opportunities for the punter to sort them out. Trying to sort out value on a Friday night amongst multiple race winners is gambling!
  25. Correct, the Loose class racing for punting represents far better opportunities without doubt!
