  1. Wont mention names, but to be fair most of the current government are just hopeless. There is total racism in NZ and it isnt coming from the whiteman!
  2. Ranga, Of course I have an interest to declare, Have not looked at what the current % odds are when they open up or close, but what I do know, is that they lengthen the fixed odds out far too close to race closing. A horse can be $3 for a place from opening till 5 minutes before race closing and then lengthen out to say $3.70 as for Justans Sister yesterday. I can not see the point of having a horse at a set amount without much money going on it and then lengthen with buggerall time to get on. Often there are 5 or 6 less than $2 for a place and they dont lengthen out until too lste. Start the odds at close to what you are looking to close and get the money on!!!!! Start at say 130 or so and attract the money. If there are plenty going on then adjust accordingly. With an hour or so Bring into 125% which is giving them 25% profit. They will lose some but will win a lot more overall! Bookies have got no guts and that is why they are putting the punters off. We are hearing about $50 win bets as being noteworthy bets????
  3. Mark, are you able to say why you think that the NZ TAB has shat on you with more intensity over the past few months, more-so than before?
  4. Was a good chance from 1, as it had run good races against better fields than tonight. Was $3 place fixed most of the day and went out to $3.60. Bookies to get more money invested need to start odds where they finish, percentage wise, and adjust the odds according to betting patterns. Yeah some will come on and say that this is not the way Bookies operate worldwide. Appreciate that, but if odds open short then not many take them! Start them fairer and more will offload, adjust as weight of money goes on! More profit the bigger the pool of wagering.
  5. JAKH, yeah have trouble with all the names too, and Ranga got me beat as well. I cant be bothered going out either tonight, when they dont exactly want punters on course, and restrictions. Hope they have a good night as they certainly need it. Dont like much tonight really and wont be having a go, on a slightly damp track. Best value would probably be Justins Sister from 1, forva place but may run 4th if it gets 3 back the fence as there are a few that like to lead.
  6. Thru to the keeper that one! Who is my namesake?
  7. Globe, is that meant to be funny? Probably not your best work , and I wont let you lower myself, to your gutter level!!
  8. Ranga, despite the fact that you should always start a sentence with a capital letter, and a full stop at the end, I will overlook that fact! You can recall, or you seem to recall?
  9. Ranga, what you on about? Firstly there was nothing wrong with that question! Secondly, you would be asking the wrong person!
  10. Brodie boring? Never!! I saw something about him getting another CEO role somewhere, didnt register where. Then saw it on NBR headline yesterday. Yeah, hidden away worried about the killer virus that has killed no one that wasnt vulnerable or geriatric in NZ!
  11. Ranga, to be fair, I unlike yourself, don’t tend to follow the business history of CEO’s in NZ especially the ones that have totally stuffed racing in NZ! I have other things that I follow and do, and I do not nowadays subscribe To The National Business Review, as financially I don’t have a need to! Where do you see that Mr Allen had become the CEO of WellingtonNZ"
  12. Mehe, it is only the bloody flu in NZ. Did you not read the article a couple of days ago that said that the flu kills 400-500 people every year in nZ and do we go into lockdown for months for that? Point is that our totally incompetent government once again can not do anything right!! How hard was it to do Mehe, when Ardern’s team of 5 million had to!! Ardern, Clark or Bloomfield should go
  13. The NBR, has an article today saying that the new CEO John Allen has a new CEO role- WellingtonNZ!!!! WTF? How on earth do these people continue to get executive positions over and over again when they are absolutely useless? Why on earth would anyone put this bloke in another CEO position with his very good track Record of stuffing everywhere he has been. Clearly WellingtonNZ havent done their due dillogence!!!!
  14. Totally incompetence from the government to not have this sorted. It is BS that these two ladies Didnt stop somewhere for petrol and do we reslly beleive that they did there toilet stops on the side of the road?????
  15. I would be putting it all on the current government. Not one in the government have any business success, their incompetence has no bounds!!!
  16. I am sure there are Ranga, with some of his views!
  17. There is always a possibility Ranga, but has not happened so far!
  18. Dougie, she may have meant trialed in its work at Oamaru with other Williamson horses, but not an official trial day? The Stipes are pretty useless nowadays, so you can say anything and nothing more is ever done about it. Nandolo won the other night at Addington, improvement from its run a week before! We are then read after the horse has won, that Nandolo had had its hocks injected, which always improves a horses performance due to a bit of soreness!! You are besting your head against a brick wall if you think you are going to be told what is actually going on! A horse can be trained anywhere but the listed trainers place, and that is just fine with HRNZ!!!!!!
  19. They have done the restructuring the wrong way around with staff cuts. Dean McKenzie has been in the job long enough to have worked out that there js no need for most of the executive! Where is this bloke Glen Saville, who is in charge of wagering in NZ and no one has heard from him, and yet he clearly agreed with John Allen in regards to the lemon of a betting platform? He should be down the road and not even a reduction in salary for him to stay on! Anyone of the execs that voted for the Paddy Power crap should be gone without doubt, because that is the major thing that has put the NZ TAB so badly stuffed! Wouldnt be that sure that Dean is strong enough to be in charge and make the right calls, as what has been scrapped so far appears to be very poor calls mostly!
  20. Yeah not that many Surf Life Savers in Winter, so probably suits. Just watched the David Di Somma interview! Was I impressed from what I heard that Mr Holden is this messiah that is going to be the answer to harness racing improvements? No not really, heard more that it was going to be a bumpy ride and everyone wouldnt be happy!!! Hopefully The Brodster is totally off the money on this one, for the sake of harness racing! Seems like all the associations and companies that Mr Holden has been on CEO’s etc. are very lightweight and no one has personally advised us on here, what his claim to fame is, and that he always does a great job! Certainly the Greyhound people dont speak that highly of him! Prove us wrong, Mr Phil Holden, that you are in the role to make harness racing great again, rather just in it for the money as I believe you probably are! I wouldve thought it was in our best interests to have someone as CEO that was fulltime rather than here there and everywhere with other associations?.
  21. He will be busy with the Surf life Saving assn.
  22. Yeah fair enough, but horse normally wins when these drivers overuse the 10 count and yet the punter of the second horse hets nothing! It is a totally stupid rule that needs amendment. Why are they not bothering to have the report re the socalled offence now? Because they know that the rule is stupid and try to gloss over it and get some funds for the empty coffers! coffers
  23. No, blatantly dangerous Basil! When people are in isolated places like Motukarara and people can not phone someone in urgent need, it is dangerous. Mildly inconvenient is rubbish. I know many racing punters that did not bother going to Mot due to the lack of internet and phone coverage. Standing on top of the hill and Hoping in this day and age is very unacceptable,Basil. Personally dont give a rats, what government has subsidised it, but think it is a bit late to be honest!
  24. They got Davey, for the no. of whip hits! Still a rule that needs changing. Horse normally wins when Driver gets done. Driver fined or suspended, punterS get nothing. Note that the Stipes report Now doesnt quote no. of hits now just the Penalty.
