Happy, this lockdown will have mainly losers. Of course Ardern did right in closing the border, even though it was a bit slow. Yes she was told there would be many many thousands dead if she didn’t act, and I doubt many would disagree with what she has done. This was done to flatten the curve so that our hospitals could cope. Once the curve was flattened then it was to eradicate or eliminate but apparently that doesn’t mean get rid of totally. The hospitals have never ever been quieter and many have and will die due to the decision of our govt. not to do these operations etc. It is going to take 18 months to catch up, there have been 60,000 medical appointments not happen and 30,000 ops not happen. People have died without family and friends being able to see them before they passed away and Ardern lied about the no. That had been allowed to. There are going to be many hundreds commit suicide due to this extended lockdown when it should’ve been eased off 2 weeks ago! Yes Ardern is very good at facing up to the media and country when there is a tradgedy like, White Island, the Mosque shooting and now the Covid19. She is a trained speaker and was president I think of the socialist youth in NZ The reality is that she has not successfully achieved any of the things that she campaigned on before the last election!! Happy, what is your opinion on what she said in her email to her fellow pollies, that there was no need to defend anything, “because they have bought into it”? What she is saying is that the suckers will do whatever I say!!!!!

Curious, seriously what has this government done over rather last 2 or more years that has been of benefit to NZ! The minimum wage rise will put up prices and no one will be better off because workers will be laid off. There are going to be far more deaths from suicides from people who have lost their jobs, businesses and family due to the financial pressures. A good leader is a leader who can make good decisions depending on the circumstances. You only need to read her email to see what arrogance the lady now has!!

Why hasn’t the Minister of health, Minister for tourism, minister of tourism spoken at the 1.0pm announcements over the last month or so????? Did we really need Bloomfield wanking on about the no. Of positive tests every day without any detail as to how many had symptoms or anything. Bloomfield worked for WHO as far as I am aware so that doesn’t exactly give us all a lot of confidence. Hopefully enough sheep can start to see what many of us have known all along, that this lot is totally out of their depth with anything but giving away free money!

Sorry Happy, I am on the money. When you have one person in a so-called democracy making all the decisions without consultation from any of the other ministers or caucus, then that is dictating and not democracy at all. Even the lockdown that was enforced appears as it was illegal. They are all scared of her, things are starting to unravel for her and whether Winston and The Greens are going to continue to accept this total control is debateable. Happy, have you read the article about her gagging every minister and everything now has to go thru her?..

But seriously, for someone to come on here and say that the lockdown is not goi g to cause anyone any financial hardship is just incomprehensible! We are already seeing people being made redundant in big no.s and there will be heaps more over the next few months, and then he is OK with the prime minister running a dictatorship?

Mardigras, it is not a democracy at the moment if you have got the prime minister dictating to her ministers and the country. There is something wrong people if they think that what Ardern is currently doing is fine! Dont really think too many would want to be like China, but if we allow this to happen it will be problematic for everyone. If she has no confidence in her ministers to speak then they should be demoted!!

Of course I am not a fan of Labour, as they have not done a single decent thing for the benefit of the country since they have been in power since they had to have 3 loser parties amalgamate to lead!!! To the sheep that follow Ardern! What is your opinion to the fact that your esteemed leader has put a gagging order on all of her ministers? That is right, she has told all of her ministers not to comment to anyone about Civd19!!!! I used to think that we were a democratic country but clearly we are not under this current government!!! Lockdown is causing most people some grief if they have got something to lose! The fallout from the lockdown is going to be horrific for many and I know it has not been handled very well by the government over the last couple of weeks. Personally I don’t need to reskill or retrain for anything, we are fortunate that we have not suffered as a result of the lockdown financially and only have to answer to my wife. Dont give a rats about what is happening in Sweden as it doesn’t concern NZ, and do get a bit sick of people quoting what is happening overseas as it is totally irrelevant to what is happening in NZ which is an Island and hasn’t had a single death due to Covid19.
