Happy, even if someone did back it at $201 fixed, the TAB has the right to cancel the bet, as it is in their rules, if they think they have made an error!!!!! I have taken bets where the odds have been appealing, and then they just cancel the bet!!!! The TAB can cancel the fixed odds bet even though they have accepted it, but the punter can not!! Pretty much is that they totally call the shots!!!

Is Dexter not required for Operation Inca hearings, or is it just a load Of bollocks?

Reality is that most of the connections with the AllStars stables don’t give a rats about anyone else in the industry apart from themselves! The industry is in serious trouble in the years ahead of attracting new participants into the game, due to the dominance of the one stable! Yes the topic is being brought up continuously, but the fact is that it is one of the biggest negative influences we currently have in regards to growing the industry! Owners and trainers are totally getting the stitch and will fall by the wayside, and with no new owners coming thru, harness racing is stuffed!
-
Dead right, in many of the races I would take the AllStars horses out of the odds!!! It is what the TAB needs to do to get punters to take up the action! Seriously, all that the short odds that are put up does, is to put most punters off! The TAB needs to encourage wagering to people rather than put them off by pathetic odds. Why bother when you are buying money, waste of effort unless you are a compulsive gambler!!

Odds would be better

Yep, The Brodster is a person of principles!
-
Seriously, it is a bit rich when Mr Purdon complains about the current system, and says that it is detrimental to 2 and 3 year olds! Mr Purdon and the AllStars blatantly take the majority of the stakes available for 2 and 3 year olds in NZ, and he thinks it is unfair????? He is kidding isn’t he?
-
Personally would not take it on principle!!

I am sure there were whips there somewhere! Have seen this dressing up thing before in Melbourne last year! Some of them very weird and amazing why so many adults and students want to dress up as these cartoon type characters as well as movie people. Ghost Busters, Wonder Woman , and a huge no.of others! Not too sure whether it is held in NZ, maybe we are far more mature?
-
Brodie is always around! Yeah did have a 3 week spell in Oz which was good, and there was a Super Hero weekend one week we were over there. Adults dressing up in all sorts of costumes reliving their childhoods again! No I was only an onlooker, but yeah I do consider myself a bit of a super hero Ranga! Didn’t even have a punt over there, did not find the need to really!

Hopefully they won’t be moaning about having to be up at 1 o’clock in the morning, poor things! Its just great watching mile racing and AllStars filling the first 2 placings. Gooooo yeeee haaaaaaa go the mighty AllStars.
-
Probably all need their bloods replaced as they do with their horses! It works for the horses so worth a go? I feel for the stable having to be up so early and then plundering all the stake money in the big races! Perhaps they need to up their training fees so high that it is not worth having a horse in the stable?

Gillespie!

I note that Forbury and Cambridge are both racing on Thursday night! Great to see Forbury with larger fields for a change! You would wonder if there is going to be enough wagered on both meetings to enable them to make a profit as the betting will be split between the two! At least the fields are certainly more puntable at Forbury than Addington on Saturday!
-
Not keen on Pokies, as I consider that gambling and you need luck, however harness punting I consider more an investment, providing you do your homework!
-
I have a major gambling problem, and It doesn’t get any better!!! the TAB restricts the amount I can invest!! Major gambling problem alright!!

Harness Racing is stuffed in the North Island. So they are only going to be racing on 3 tracks, Palmy, Cambridge and Alexandra Park! They need looser class horses racing and winning to put them up over the 55 grade. Anyway the racing in the North Island is not that flash so probably not worth worrying about!

Driver of race 3 at Addington should get a holiday!!!!!

Na, got far too much hair, and personality!! -
Maybe I am not on the money? Cran has never been named and I hadn’t heard that he has been charged for anything! What has he been charged for? Although I am in Oz and spoke to someone today who told me a thing or two! The Thing is, Brodie is a role model for being law abiding, so,that’s is probably why I haven’t been aware of this!
-
Wasn’t aware Cran had been named as having been charged in the Operation Inca sting!
-
Cran isn’t involved with Operation Inca? There are a lot of trainers who UDRs aren’t as high as they used to be either! Dont think Cran is training as many as he used to and probably sells the ones that can run a bit, as there is no money in racingbin the group races nowadays, for obvious reasons!!

Apologies Joe, for changing your name. Agree to disagree in regards to Mark Purdons drive. If he had shown the horse the whip earlier, he just wins, as he left it far too late to bet Enhance Your Calm to respond on the wet track! As I say, the ironic thing here is that the winning driver Bob Butt who tried harder to win the race, gets hammered by the judiciary! The driver that should’ve won the race and didn’t try hard enough, gets off scot free and the punter gets hammered!!! This is why this whip rule is an absolute farce, and needs changing! Bob Butt should not have been penalised whatsoever and Mr Purdon deserved to be penalised!!
-
Truth is that you agree with Brodie all the time, but you like to disagree to upset this forum!
-
Yes, Brodie has got the class, Rangatira and CrossCodes etc. will agree with you! Everyone writes differently, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Not too sure whether we actually need more racing from overseas to wager on, would prefer they cut out the crap meetings from overseas and concentrated on the NZ product!
-
John, agree with many of your points but not all! Dont agree that the driver of Enhance Your Calm did everything to ensure that his horse won, and that is why I beleive he should have received a fine at the very least! He was probably the shortest priced favourite on the night and was beaten! Yes the track was wet, which is a great leveller! However, the horse was by far the best horse in the field and would’ve won on a dry track as we both know! The horse was tired in the straight we can clearly see that, however the horse needed to have the persuader used well before it was, after Mark sees Bob Butt coming fast! It was a error in judgement by Mark Purdon on this occasion which I suggest is very rare indeed! Punters got badly burnt and due to a poor error in judgement so at least deserved to be fined! The irony is that drivers are fined for trying hard to win by using the whip in excess of 10 times. Bob Butt who wins the race for all the connections gets hammered by fine and suspension and yet Mark Purdon Who erred in judgement, gets off scot free!!!!! Absolute BS!
