  1. Portfolio, horses that go to the beach do seem to improve their attitude and it does freshen them up, as I am sure horses get sick and tired of going around and around small tracks. Beach work is on sand obviously and easier on their legs and straight training rather than bends. We are still waiting to hear what harness trainers are doing this therapeutic blood treatment. You would think that trainers would be voluntarily coming out and telling us seem it is only therapeutic and all the horses are needing it!!!
  2. Brilliant, and Fart Too Much has the gall to start a blog on that other site telling their small number of posters that Bit Of A Yarn members were looking at The other site and should keep out! Unbelievable hypocrisy!
  3. TAB will have it short as. Probably come out and win!
  4. Would be very interesting to see what other harness stables have all their horses requiring therapeutic treatment? It is legal so you would think that to promote the product then the directors would advertise who uses this blood treatment so that more people would have the treatment and therefore make money??????
  5. Not sure Portfolio, not in any stable! Maybe it is just that he becones more professional do you think?
  6. Went off what Longowner had said. Brodie is always on the money Scoobs will verify that
  7. Yeah, Na!
  8. Newmarket, poorly written then!!!!!!!
  9. Graeme has sent horses to other stables before, perhaps the horses pick up new training techniques?
  10. No, Longowner is right, Newmarket. Kim Butt is Anthony’s daughter and Johnny’s partner.
  11. Have just noticed the 1980m races at Addington in the nominations, but you beat me to the punch Happy. You are doing a great job with your postings, BOAY’s gain and the other hasbeen sites loss, without doubt. As you know I prefer the longer distance races rather than the shorter sprints so well worth the effort to trial.
  12. Thought Amber Hoofman and Johnny Cox did a good job. Didn’t Roy and Barry Purdon train in partnership a long time ago and were very successful. Reidman had a good partnership with a couple of young fellas
  13. I may not have been on the money, but I have been in the money!
  14. Well done Happy with Rainy River. Just shows you how form doesn’t hold,up in the amateurs! LOL
  15. If someone from the TAB is reading this I think you should look at your betting options today. Someone has stuffed up, all races have saddlecloth options 1 to 5 and 6 to 10 Dah
  16. Does it piss Brodie off ? Not anymore as It is actually costing the racing industry a helluva more than it is costing me. Thing is that their business plan is so flawed and they can’t see it They need to attract money to go on rather than put punters off which is what they are doing The TAB are far too interested in yield rather than turnover By restricting punters and poor odds has a detrimental affect on turnover and ultimately profit
  17. Yes has been discussed before but never answered correctly. you obviously don’t check them on opening then!,,,, Place odds are about 138% on opening which is ridiculous wish they were opened at 128% would be far fairer
  18. Why do the Bookies open up the Fixed Odds so short? I would love to know how much money is invested early on nowadays on the Fixed Odds for harness! I would’ve thought that to make money for the TAB that you would be encouraging punters to actually put money on the Fixed Odds rather than put punters off with unattractive odds. I appreciate that they are not there to lose money but how on earth do they expect investments when the opening odds are well under what they should be. The Bookies need to be moving Odds out far earlier than just before the race is due to be run as they will be missing out on plenty of dollars. They won’t get a hiding as when someone has a sizeable bet, they slash the odds anyway. Maybe they don’t want harness turnover and rely on sports for their profit????
  19. Hi Happy, Certainly will Be bolters. Personally wouldn’t be wanting to be paying the training bills for either horse as their prospects of winning another race I would say would be next to nil. Maybe they may need a blood transfusion!!
  20. It is not now “ excessive use of the whip”; it is”used whip more than permitted”. What this is now saying is that the drivers are not being too, hard on the horses, but there has been a number of hits allowed and if you do hit one more than the permitted it is an infringement. Time the no. Was taken away as it is ridiculous and go back to the old rule, so it is fair on everyone. It is ridiculous now, as I have said, there are too many variables. Some drivers barely touch the horse but it is counted as a whip action.
  21. Reality is that some trainers will always be looking to do best by their owners and that is why they end up paying far larger training bills than the semi amateur. Most people have probably got an opinion on the topic, and it is a grey area whether everything is black or white and by saying that this blood system that is being used by who knows how many, 20or 30 but we don’t know who because it is such a great system, but we won’t say who is using it, is primarily therapeutic is BS! I believe that Winston now that he is currently Prime Minister, needs to form a Working Group, because that is this government thing isn’t it, to determine whether this practice should be allowed to continue. I can tell you that it is the talk of the trainers at the moment and it is not too popular with many, as they know it gives some an advantage.
  22. Primarily Therapeutic???????????? So what are the benefits other than PRIMARY???????? Very fishy I can smell it from here! Why do all the horses need this therapeutic treatment, of course it is improving the performance of the horses or they wouldn’t be doing it at such an expense for all the owners. Why is it not banned when it is clearly making it an uneven playing field???
  23. Of course it needs to be banned. It clearly is not a natural medicine for therapeutic purposes at all. If it is so therapeutic and nothing untoward with it, why doesn’t the company advertise who is using it! Why don’t they because they know it is giving their horses an unfair advantage with what is being done. Is it 20 or 30 trainers using it, 50% difference seems a big margin of error!
  24. Basically the way it was Newmarket. Bit of alcohol, Mr Sheenan got in argument with a fellah, Mr Sheenan goes home and gets rifle and loads it. Goes back to Mot. And continues argument. Innocent fellah gets in between Mr Sheenan and the fellah he was arguing with, and he gets shot dead. Never should have had a rifle oncourse let alone loaded and someone is killed after a day at the races.
  25. Nothing at all wrong with the previous whip rule Basil. How many drivers were actually fined or suspended prior to the new rule being railroaded in thru the back door without support from the affected party that being the drivers? What is the current Australian rule? Thats right they haven’t changed their rule have they Basil? Harness Racing will lose out big time if the whip was outlawed. It is hard enough already to attract new punters into the game without watching horses not being given every chance We will continue to disagree but then that is both of our perogatives!
