  1. Not sure where the feedback came from that says that they need these 3new tutors for improving driving? Personally reckon the driving skills are excellent by the time most of the drivers get to the trials track! The juniors nowadays are extremely skilled and they compete with the ones that have been driving for decades! Where I do believe there needs to be a new position created is a tutor to teach the HRNZ stipes a bit of common sense and get them out on the track so that they can have experience! The officiating decisions and rules are a far bigger problem than the driving of our professionals, who work a damn sight harder than the stipes and reap less financial reward in general!!!!!
  2. Galah, not sure it is worth pointing out that the current handicapping system is totally unfair and needs amending again! A couple of years or more ago they had a brainstorming meeting of HRNZ and owners and trainers that was going to be full of these great ideas! What came out of this seems to be a messed up change of season date that we couldn’t understand. They seriously do need to once again change things and to be fair it would not be too hard! Just crazy that these horses that have won 10 races or so race one win horses! Not sure why HRNZ don’t come out and announce something in the wind, but there doesn’t seem to be anything! Its OK everything must be going well?
  3. Massive run for technically an early 3 year old. They went hard up front and Nathan Williamson just let the horse go its isn speed without chasing it up early on after missing going away with the field. Only caught the field pretty late on and finished over the top with the last quarter in not much under 30 secs, which helped a lot for it to win. Horse certainly has massive potential and no doubt will receive offers from overseas buyers! Nathan Williamson is very skilled so will look after the horse if it stays in NZ.

    Cup Day 2023

Dont you mean Tim Butt, Chief?
  5. AllStars stable went well as usual in the big races in Cup Week, Gamma! Nathan appears to be quite cool and non flustered like his father! There did not seem to be any sign whatsoever of his former training partner, which seems very odd seem it was the biggest week in the year for harness racing in NZ! It would appear that she is back in your country Gamma?
  6. Think Forbury is talking about laying on Betfair! You can bet against a horse winning on their exchange!
  7. What harness racing needs nowadays obviously is to attract new punters to attend the races and also punt on all other race meetings! I haven’t had a crack on anything for probably 8 weeks or so, just can not be bothered trying to find something worth backing and then not betting enough on. Gammalites punting competition organising is appreciated muchly and the fact that I was an also ran, confirms why I prefer to watch on Cup Day! Always a great social day out for the younger ones, but most wont be back for another 365 days. Addington probably do not care too much as they must make millions on the hospitality! $70 entrance on the day for general admission is not the way to attract people to attend during the year and the hospitality packages nowadays is just daylight robbery. Yes people are paying so I suppose that it must be OK for them but surely wont entice them oncourse regularly. Were some good interviews being done on the day, and the one Unhinged did on the members queuing up and then dashing to get a table was hilarious. Some looked like they were about to have heart attacks!
  8. Gamma, thanks for your efforts once again with competitions. Just a reminder for Brodie why he won’t normally punt on Cup Day. Well Done to Holy for getting the big one in the first. Give me Ashburton Thursday any day lol!
  9. There is sufficient racing in Canterbury so they dont need to travel south or north nowadays! Unless you win it is going to be a losing exercise for most! Palmy is going to close in the next couple of years you would think?
  10. No wonder I dont like Cup Day for punting! Lol Cody Banner winning over 2 miles and trotting was too hard, Kingsdown Atom I did like, but didnt put it in my picks lol otherwise I would be home for all money!
  11. Amazing start! Well done. Punters graveyard on Cup Day
  12. Not sure I am allowed to say it Chief, but “The Whale” has been “Out Whaled”!
  13. Palmy yesterday what a very poor meeting. Only 6 races and wouldve run at a loss surely for the TAB? Shows how they are stuffed when Michael House isnt there!
  14. Lol, to be fair I wouldn’t be following me on Cup Day, as I normally watch but not offload! Just too hard to be confident as they are pretty even and havent put in much effort 😂 Haven’t had a go for many weeks now and enjoying the break! Would have a serious crack at the head to heads if they gave out option no.s!
  15. Fields as per usual on Cup Day very hard to pick and make $,but Brodie will be in due to Gammalite putting in so much effort! 1. 4 16 2. 6 11 3. 11 12 4. 11 15 5. 3 6 6. 3 12 7. 2 7 8. 5 7 9. 6 7 10. 3 7 11. 9 15 12. 3 6 good luck to everyone that is having a go tomorrow,
  16. Richie, you seem to know him better than he does himself! Where has it been published that what you say is correct? Nowornever is probably correct in what he says, if Robert didnt have enough for a deposit in a house in Wellington before the win, he still wont have a sufficient deposit, unless he is wanting to live on the West Coast of the S.I.! His loan repayments are going to much more than the $500 per week as well! To be fair, BOAY is the Premiere Racing site nowadays!
  17. Correct, but he may become a professional punter just doing easy bets? Thing is the $106k wouldn’t be enough for a deposit on a house, but would be ok for the garage! Good on him if it is legit!
  18. Yes Auckland harness racing lacks excitement mostly at the best of times! However to continue to stage these mile races is just farcical! Why anyone wants to offload on any of this short distance racing is questionable?
  19. According to the media a punter in Australia won $2.7 million by having just under $200 on a mystery Pick 4! By the look of it you pick 4 horses and they have to run first 4 and he had them boxed! He supposedly got 833% of the dividend and that was something like 332k. Who would’ve thought? Lol
  20. Who says that they are wanting to increase turnover? If they are wanting turnover, then they are certainly needing to change policies!
  21. Rangiora fields not opening but other meetings are on mine!
  22. Working for Brodie, no issues! They might be onto you?
  23. Never had a Betfair account. Had 3 accounts in Oz, but none now! They only want you if you are paying their wages, and very quick to close you down if you are not a losing punter. They are not that keen on NZ harness punters lol. It seems all betting agencies are very poor losers and either close you down or make it not worth the damn effort!
  24. So if it was an easy bet why on earth can’t the TAB state this rather than saying it was a privacy issue ffs? Yet they can say is name is Robert ? Interesting?
  25. Looks like marketing department been working overtime. Just seems Improvable that with the millions of possible first 4 combinations possible someone with $5 can chuck the $21 for a place runner in for third?? How many bets on that $5 spend to have a per centage of 32? Robert didn’t even know how he won? Hey at the end of the day if it is legit then good old Robert will probably be able to move out of the garage! He says he has a deposit on a house now! He certainly wouldn’t have one if he is to remain in Wellington and debt servicing might be a problem. But well done to Robert, great to have some success stories published.
