  1. Wonder if I walked into the TAB and asked them for some BONUS CASH, BONUUS BETS AND BOOSTED ODDS, would they say Yes??? They really should , as this is what “ Out THE GATE” gets from Betcha! Thats right, keep forgetting, they are treated differently to other punters! Just an absolute joke the way they are running this OTG!!!
  2. Michael House’s wife I believe is a Vet? Still maintain it was a big form reversal from what it had shoen in 42 previous start's snd the Bookies agreed! Grass tracks wouldve helped and going to be interesting go see if it can win again?
  3. Brent Weaver has been around for decades, Gamma. Used to live up in Marlborough and campaigned horses in Wellington and Palmerston North, and is a driver as well. Has had some pretty reasonable horses and not an inexperienced trainer. Someone knew the horse was improved due to the shortening but on previous form you just couldnt have it, although grass tracks are a leveller!
  4. Gamma, The Mandalorian has over 40 starts for Weaver and in almost every one was not competitive enough to place. One start for Michael House and the money comes on and it wins. You say it didnt improve much, so you are saying the others in the race that would always best it home, had a bad day at the office? Think it is not worth asking the question by the Stipes, if they are always going to accept the answer as being change of training routine! Not saying anything untoward here, just saying that what was Brent Weaver doing to have this horse going so nil for so long??!
  5. The question needs to be asked about the improvement of The Mandalorian! The money came for The Mandalorian first up for Michael House yesterday at Oamaru. The Mandalorian had 42 starts for Brent Weaver and to be fair was a very poor performing horse and showed very little ability, hardly worth having in work! The Stipes asked the question yesterday wishy washy and accepted that it was due to a change of training routine, that enabled this poor performer to winning first up in short time from a previous trainer. Yes we know a change if trainer can improve a horse, but why not kindly explain to the betting public what this so called change of training routine is? Just a cop out answer that needs a proper answer! Either Michael House is an absolute genius or Brent Weaver is a hopeless trainer!! The betting public need to be better informed of how a horse goes from useless to a winner in short time, as we have a Racing Integrity Unit don’t we?
  6. Yep, when you have been around as long as we have, 6 months means a lot! This year has just disappeared so quickly and so the 2.5 years is going to come around very quickly. Chief, have you got the confidence in the current CEO and others making decisions that they have enough business acumen??
  7. Chief, it is 2 and a 1/2 years to go, and the usage of the Entain money has been decidedly very poor. The ones making the decisions will not be around when the day of reckoning comes. Anyway nothing we can do apart from pointing out the error of their ways!!
  8. Chief it isnt three years to go, it is 2 and a 1/2. Not sure how the thoroughbreds are going with the extra money from Entain, but it would be odds on that Harness stakes are going to be crucified in the next year or so! Unfortunately you can not powder coat what is going on at the moment.
  9. The 3 or 4 presenters for OTG are surely paid employees of Trackside and therefore employees of the NZ TAB. representing OTG they are given preferential treatment by their employer by being allowed to bet on any bet they want and any amount they are allowed to win! Whereas some punters not employed by the TAB are not allowed at all to bet on certain options and restricted to small amounts on other bets!! How on earth is this actually legal despite what is stated in the TAB rules that they do not have to accept peoples bets? It just shows how unethically wrong the way they are operating. They also dont follow the AML legislation limits but they have been getting away with it.
  10. Chief, it may be that the money comes out of and back into individual accounts, but it is the same! OTG is one entity that is doing the wagering, and not the individuals! The reality is that if the so called investors were wagering on the same bet individually then the odds would be slashed by the Bookies with the amount being outlaid! The truth of the matter is OTG are getting all the favours from the NZ TAB and are not having any limits or restrictions that some loyal punters have placed on them! Just is totally ethically and morally wrong that they show favouritism to their employees and yet others are stopped from taking some bets at all and restricted to low amounts on all others!!! Treating punters unequally is just so wrong in this day and age and they should not be allowed to get away with it, and need to continue to point this out!
  11. Lol they are now making hay while the dogs are around! Good for those that are recently putting into the pool, but reality is that the NZ TAB are giving them major favouritism over other punters! Giving them bonus cash, unlimited bets with no restrictions at all! Just continues to show just how wrong they act ethically! NZ TAB, how about letting all punters be allowed to operate the way you let Out The Gate ?
  12. I was out for the night, how did they do tonight? Did they back anything at Cambridge, or was it Same Race Multi Multi on the dogs again?
  13. OTG, just started today! Just a Greyhound show, that is all they talk about! Need to change the name of the show to “ Greyhound same race multi”! Has Andy McCook been knighted as they call him Sir Andy?
  14. They are promoting the punting on NZ greyhounds and so it is pretty ironic when they are going to be closed down in 7 or 8 months!
  15. Rest assured it wasnt Brodie. Dont touch gallops and far too short to be offloading on! The boosted odds are not worth the effort as the limits on amounts able to be wagered are pretty pitiful.
  16. Good to see that they are finishing with the 12k 2 year old bonus, as it has not done what it was meant to do, but then who would've thought? It is long overdue for HRNZ to actually become financially frugal, but then it is probably too late, but we will see! I believe that there are a lot that derive their income from harness racing still believing that everything is Ok as this is what has come from HRNZ! Chucking around Entain money just because it was there is not s business plan that was ever going to work medium term. There is going to need to be a helluva lot of belt tightening from many parties for it to be able to sustain the industry in the next decade. Punters and ownership needs to be encouraged.
  17. Why do they need to be given all this free money to bet with? Going to be interesting to see if OTG js continued in the New Year? Hardly encouraging harness racing when they mostly offload on these Same Race Multis on the Greyhounds, which are going to be terminated from NZ in July! Thursday nights now has emphasis on the Dish Lickers which is unfortunate I wouldve thought, as it takes very little skill to be wagering on them!
  18. Seemed to be a well run Juniors Championship, with a good group of Juniors competing. Certainly need s lot more Juniors to be coming through, but are there many in the wings? Well cone go Carter Dalgety for winning the Championship for the first time and great to see a male win it for a change. Surprised at how well Monika Ranger did, but congratulations to her and all the others.
  19. If it attracts a lot of new participants to the racing industry then that is a positive for having the show! Think it is not a great look the way they are not betting responsibly despite what the TAB advertises! When they put on $500 and it loses, they always say it was only a little bet or something along those lines, as if it is a pittance and doesnt matter!! And yet the TAB is restricting some punters to amounts of 20% of that amount as a maximum bet??? It is total hypocrisy and needs to be seriously addressed, as it is blatantly WRONG!
  20. Is “Out The Gate” bring dropped permanently or just over Xmas New Year? Hopefully it is permanently but is it due to them finally making money? Lol The idea is possibly ok but the way they operate on the Thursday night is poorly executed! They mainly punt on the greyhounds Same race multi this, multi this, blah blah blah! They are allowed to wager whatever they want with no restrictions which is in contrast to the some of the genuine loyal punters of the TAB! If these employees are allowed to punt with no restrictions then it has to be the same for all punters! wonder whether it has attracted any new punters or turned off existing punters from watching? They be stuffed once the Greyhounds in NZ are terminated.
  21. Galah, not sure I agree with you in regards to the current HRNZ Board having too much business success?
  22. Reality is that if they don’t pull their heads in and act with financial acumen now, harness in NZ will be like the racing was like at Parklands Queensland on a Tuesday arvo when it closed down! We need people who have business success not just mates of mates!
  23. Taupiri, let the restricted punters on for what these employees of the TAB are allowed! Anyone with any sense of fairness can see that this policy that allows OTG to wager as much as they want on any bet and with no restrictions, when they restrict non employess is blatantly misguided! Brodie is more than happy for them to punt away on the greyhound favourites but then everyone should be allowed the same luxury! Hope the boys keep the winning up but they need to talk to management about how unjust the current policy is! At the end of the day Andrew Vouros did say he wanted to increase turnover!
  24. Totally Irrelevant, it is Out The Gate punting an unrestricted amount of money at full odds with no slashing of odds, for a group, not individuals! if it is 300 people punting at the same time then the odds would be slashed accordingly. It is about the liability to the TAB for each bet and it is just a continuation of how the TAB treats some very loyal punters poorly, whereas others get favouritism! This policy of treating punters differently has gone on for a long time but does not make it right, and if you knew the full story then you would understand more!
  25. Great that they are winning betting on Greyhounds. what it does show though is the ethics of the TAB! Dont get me wrong I hope they continue to win for those that continue to chuck their hard earned into the pot each week! What is morally wrong is the way that their employees are allowed to wager any amount they want and have no limits as to how much they can win!!!! Whereas if you are not an employee of the TAB you are restricted to a net very little and also stopped from taking some of the options available to others! Will be very Interesting To see if the hypocrisy and favouritism to some is allowed to continue as any other punter in NZ would now be restricted to winning buggerall.
