  1. Washed it out and ran to the bank. lol. Bit short but I will take it.
  2. Class usually rises to the top in these races. In which case it is Spankem or Self Assured, if he steps . I really think the one draw will trip up Copy That and leave him poorly placed in the running. The Fixer for my sleeper, gets away well and can run the distance. An AS trifecta dare I say it. Wash my mouth out with soap and water.
  3. Just remember people that when the moneys up a little machine goes into overdrive spinning like mad. Nothing will change on Tuesday.
  4. If you watch the replay properly Sundees Son wasn't checked. He was no where near Matua Tana, in fact about half a length off. He hits form for a few starts , then reverts to type. That's good for us at it takes another one out of play. Roll on the FFA and Dominion.
  5. Someone forgot to lock the asylum door. Trump supporter , right?????
  6. For what its worth. A "portfolio "horse for race 9, No 5 Just in Awe. A pure hunch bet ,but have been on it before at good odds and it goes well fresh and on grass, in an even field. $15FF
  7. Probably better off asking the owners that question Brodie. It alludes me, even trying to give it some legitimacy.
  8. I actually backed the horse that beat it Rusty. I couldn't believe the odds, 13,s after its first up win and then bobbling at the start and coming home nicely for third at its nxt. They are both talented trotters.
  9. Risk management Rusty. Dont waste your time with NZ TAB FOB.
  10. Probably not. An anomaly really. But one plays within the rules in force at the time. The horse probably fills a spot in its field that on reflection and stats should be allocated to a better performed animal. The rating system is a bone of contention within our racing syndicates manager/ trainers.
  11. In fact if one looks at his record you will notice his fastest mile rate is actually 2.02 when qualifying sixth out of six. So no improvement at all . If he was a dog he would have seen the inside of a can by now. But, its the owners prerogative ,and who are we to quantify the pleasure they get from seeing him run.
  12. No not boring, just slowly becoming what piles were to Lester Piggot.
  13. Which reminds me you never did front up at Cambridge on Jewels day. That made me laugh as well.Ha Ha ha
  14. Fuck off noddy. Im over 65 and I laugh everytime I read your posts.
  15. Kinda reminds me of Liverpool in the FA in England applying for Govt subsidy . Pphhhtt.
  16. Yes Chief but Western Govts at least have a democratic system in place and the general populace has a right to say what they think, and vote accordingly. Under Communism, your rights are stripped , Their one child policy created nothing but a vacuum of eligible workers, and only under Deng Xiaoping did China's standard of living start to improve. But not as you and i would comprehend it. The vast bulk of Chinese still live in poverty,.
  17. 30 million Chinese died of starvation during Mao,s Cultural Revolution. They have a habit of it, but it comes from the top , most dont get a say in it. Surprised Way South got this far with that sort of invective.
  18. My worry after hearing from our syndicate manager and my son in law ( TB trainer) that those stake holders will be hit so hard that there will not be many left fiscally to continue to be a part of the Industry, therefore what remains is a small core that collectively cannot resurrect a sinking ship . To many variables in these unprecedented times to have a diffinative answer but I dare say the landscape is being changed dramatically, and with that comes a power of hurt for a wide range of business owners. Some on here may concur with that sentiment,so my thoughts are with those that produce the work .Take care folks
  19. Very interesting and I remember Bravine well. She was a pretty decent race mare around the late sixtys and into the 70,s. I used to follow breeding with interest, and commiserate with the author on less interest shown in the distaff side of the the breeding equation .Just goes to show that good bloodlines are equally passed on from both parents. I always thought Tintin In America would leave a speed horse as he was exceptionally quick himself, and clean gaited. Also nice to see NZ,s flag being waved, and we are building a very promising breeding platform of sires , not undue to Bettors Delight being a major part of that.
  20. I keep a portfolio of horses logged into my memory from years of watching and listening. That's how I figure out who to back and not. Do your own work bud.
  21. Yes seems i have. I could mention a few genuinely overrated horses but probably a waste of time on here. Agree with comments on MM,s driver. Not one I would have put on personally but more informed sources made the call. He wasn't himself by the sound of it, so we wait for him to conquer all and sundry next year as a 6 yr old. Cant wait. and Dark Horse is back and has lost none of her speed , so hopefully she can climb back to the top ranks free of injury. Has the potential to be anything.
  22. Can someone please send me the ownership papers for chase Auckland. I have always wanted to buy an overrated horse. Im sure one could make a bit of money off him in the lower grades. What, ??/, whats that you say. he has already won a NZ FFA. F--- me , bargain of the century.
  23. Yeh Gamma, touche ,but being Australian we are used to you guys dribbling out of both sides of the mouth. Unfortunately they spoilt a good arse when they put teeth in yours.
  24. Winterfell my arse. Had MM taken the passing lane instead of wanting to lug outwards Winterfell was toast and would have had MM,s dust in its eyes as it bloused on by. We have drawn badly again in the GSS, but it may be a blessing in disguise as those up front pour it on leaving the swoopers to appear late. Tornado Valley the likely leader in one of the best collection of trotters to run around in a very long time. We can only hope for a decent run in transit. as he deserves a big one.
  25. He certainly doesn't look happy when the pressure goes on.Obviously still a work in progress. We beat him home in the National and given a half decent draw personally, and leaving the bias out I think the GSS is ours to lose with MM. Phil wouldn't take him over if he thought that was enough for the season ,but he is still pinging along and if any horse deserved a big one it is this bugger. Stylish Memphis was the run of the night . Huge effort on that pace from the car park. And another Northerner in Triple Eight impressed me with a gutsy run for 4th, after working hard. He has stepped up consistently this horse and is a welcome addition to the top ranks. And in that bunch also is Mach Shard, a real revelation and once again a Northerner. Roll on next week
