I have a granddaughter who was involved in kids carts up North, through Nicky Chilcott. I think it was organised by the Butcher's, but is it a lead in for future drivers in the professional ranks, or do most drop out.? Once at college my granddaughter lost touch with the sport due to other activitys even though she is from a horse racing family. Anyone on here know much about the progress of the kids involved either North or South.

It was and is. One has to redefine "self", that's how mind altering it is. Obviously ( and this surprised me) it alters ones enjoyment of mile racing at the Ribbon of Light. Who would have guessed??

Ditto to that one. Easiest way of making money I can think of. Every time I win, as in last night with Kiwis are Flying, I take my winnings out and leave the 35c in and wait. Sure enough eventually another free bet arrives. Sublime.

Gutsy call with Easy Pickings in that field Dougie. Hope you got some of that place money. Has always shown promise but very hard to pick. We got another placing with Mega Pixels tonight. Very promising start to the season with our youngsters.

R9 Kiwis are Flying . This mare is consistent and has speed, being out of Kiwi Ingenuity. Deserves to win another one . Currently at 7.50ff. Gets my money today.

Frankly i hope they decide to sit off the pace with UMC. I would love to see the after burners go on in the last 200 because after watching his races so far he will look like a Bugatti Chiron. The pace of this horse is something to behold . The AS are going to have to negate his speed somehow, and thats why sitting just off the pace (if poss) gives him a good chance of running past them. You wouldnt want to lead from there, the AS will attack you all day. Harness needs a new kid on the block , I hope this horse blitzes them .

No , no counsel needed. As a Harness person It matters not what the answer is really. But looking at your posts and churlish comments , I might suggest shoving a rocket up your arse and lighting it. Denigrating another site and losing whatever integrity you may have built up, smacks of someone without a moral or ethical compass. Sundees Son, gee. I used to laugh at the horse once with his antics in breaking and throwing races away. Unbelievable horse this one and destined for greatness at this rate. He can sprint and stay, and will admit, as good as our Majestic Man is we are in for a torrid time and chasing place money at the moment . I hope Dark Horse comes back as good as we know she can be , will be interesting if she manages to qualify for the top races after an enforced injury break. She is good enough and we rate her as a better stayer than a sprinter. Good times ahead

Hey dont get defensive. I am the last one to "criticize " the horse. He is something else., and I ve been watching Harness for near on 60yrs .Whether he ran a world/nz record or not, is not the point if you read back far enough. He should have been closer when making his run,(providing they wanted him to win) and if you think that is a criticism of the driver then it is. Running 2.51.1 as you stated and still running 3rd would shout from the rooftops "Geeze he must have come from a long way back". As good as he looks , do that in a NZ Cup and you are toast.

Counter, what I was alluding to was that the horse maybe being bought up to midfield and wait,and (he does look capable of sprinting twice in a race) not trying to loop the whole field from way back and get caught with having to run a 53 half to get near them( which he did on his ear)mind you. Frankly with rhis much raw speed and ability to cover the ground he would take a lot of flatteneng.Agree with Galah though, poor placement obviously but no damage down .

She could have got him a tad closer for mine.If she had judged the pace up front properly and realized they were trucking along, even allowing for the excuse of being driven for a sit, then for me she was way to far back. Driven with a sit from 100 mtrs away, dont think so.He has incredible speed , beautiful to watch, and will be a thorn in the side of many to come. Cant wait
