Fair comment , but he thought the two in front of him wouldn't hand up so probably thought the horse gets a cosy trip 3 back all the way .Really?, over 3200 without anyone coming around to get handy or try for the lead, dont think so.! Did the driver of Sundees Son or the others think they wouldnt hand up, if so why did they tear around for the lead. We are little if inferior as he has shown to anything in that race, so going into the second turn he had a chance to get out and breeze or have a go for the lead himself. Lacking confidence in yr horses ability to lead or breeze for a while (considering past performances)and going on hearsay from other drivers to stick to their game plan doesn't win group ones.
