    Surely it is time to limit the numbers starting in standing starts,both the DG Jones trot and the Akaroa cup at the Mot have had two many horses trying to be lined up, took 13 minutes to get them away yesterday. Any thoughts?

    Doomed, Another southern jumper that did well in Australia was Derrydonnell who won a Grand National for Mouse Kennedy, both him and Bell Flight were ridden by Nick Harnett who shifted to Victoria soon after.

    Just Believe was always the only contender for horse of the year based on performance, won the Rowe cup, the Dominion,and the slot race at Cambridge.I suspect Keeyang Zahara would have been 2nd placed.These were by far the best performers, I think that they are Australian is immaterial

    I agree that it is time to give standing starts away, use the PBD for all races except maidens to provide some handicapped. Dexter has been home for a good while now, and to me it is unfortunate that the Box Seat is the only place he has been interviewed, surely a world champion should be seen on main stream media to help gain exposure to the general public not already aware of his talent and record

    Wonderful drive on Randel Houston P, got this troublesome trotter away slowly from the unruly, took him to the front, and set a solid tempo to keep his mind on the job. Had the race won a long way from home. Well done Wilson

    This race now seems miles away from when the great race mare Delightful Lady won it 5 years in a row, and only potentially missed 6 because the ATC changed the race conditions to exclude her.

    As a younger man, with golden hair rather than white,I recall Lionels horses Zarnia and New York always seemed to be the top weights in the open sprints around Canterbury and the west coast
